I am so glad you did this demonstration because I have stayed away from these type yarns, but now I will definitely try the Caron Latte cakes! Thanks :)
I loveeee the Caron latte cakes,,,,I got it on clearance at Michael's a couple of weeks ago so I'm pretty stocked up and working on an Afghan. Great review!!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Caron Latte Cakes. My Michael's has had them on clearance for $4.99. I have made some gorgeous scarfs and mittens with it and have enough stock piled to make a sweater as soon as I have time.
I was so happy to run across this video. I bought a Caron Latte Cake last year with a coupon and it was so pretty, I went back and got another one. They have been sitting in a bag waiting for the perfect project and I have to admit, I was intimidated by it. After seeing how easy it is to crochet and more importantly, take apart if I mess up, I can't wait to make my favorite poncho that I also found on your channel.
I got Hygge yarn at Joanns, but the ball I got was bigger. 212 yards for $9.99. Now when I bought my yarn I got it on sale for $6.99 (I think, at least I am pretty sure it was around $2 off) and I used a 20% coupon too. Now for me this was a great deal as I am in Canada and it's much more money for yarn here.
Caron is one of my favorite yarns. I have made two sets of dresses for my great- grand-daughters in the "brites colors", they get so many compliments on them.
I love the Latte cakes also, and wish they would come out with solids. I think I have every color now. lol Never have I seen the Lion brand one. The red heart came in to my Walmart right before they did a reset in the yarn section. I bought a couple and tried it. Loved it so I went back for more. The store had done a reset and took all of it and put it in the main aisle on a cart for clearance. Needless to say I bought them all. had to tell you guys as you can imagine how I felt.
I love when you do these videos . I don't have extra cash just to try them and this really helps me decide if I would use it. Thanks for your opinion. Great video!
Oh my gosh. Was gonna send you some hygge yarn to see how you like it. You beat me to it 😊I found the hygge online for 3.49 a skein. Also available at my Walmart for 3 something a skein. Have used it and love it!
I loved your review I really never used to check on my yardage until I started watching your channel. I have learned so much from you thank you. I have never tried the cakes yet but I really want to. So this was very helpful. I am a lover of red heart.
I haven’t tried any of these yarns but I will now. Thanks for the review. I always refer to your reviews before buying a new yarn. That way I know what to expect.
I love the red hearts hygge I love for sales but I will definitely buy even for the price. I’m cheap but I just love it so much. Makes the softest sweaters ever
I have only bought and used the Latte Cakes. I totally agree with you on your choice; price is my biggest factor, I crochet daily. Hygge yarn is too expensive for me, Lion Brand is also too expensive. I have purchased every color of the Latte Cakes and have made cardigans, sweaters, and blankets with it. 💙💚💙💚
Like Terry B I love the hygge yarn. I'm currently making a shawl with it. I haven't seen any shedding from it at all. And it is available in 2 of my local Walmart stores for $4.84. But thank you Crystal for your review. You are more experienced than I am, and I value your opinion.
I've crocheted with the red heart hygge and the Caron Latte cakes. Hands down I prefer the Caron Latte cakes. Like you said, better value for the money. Great yardage, easy to crochet and frog, super pretty.
I first found the hygge yarn at Walmart and fell in love with the softness. It's amazingly soft. I haven't tried the other 2 yarns. I agree the hygge is a bit pricey but it is sooooo soft! I've used it for baby blankets.
All three are gorgeous. I just got my first Latte Cake (In Australia) but here they are A$20 each!!! So soft and gorgeous to use and wear! Hoping we will get the Lion Brand and the Red heart versions here eventually.
Thanks for the review, Crystal. My sister wants me to make her a fuzzy shrug and I really had no idea which to go with. I definitely need to be able to frog it, I definitely need to be able to see the stitches, and I'd really like a good value for the money. Love you reviews!!!
i love how honest and spot on ur reviews are!!! i am dying to try all these yarns but my location is not near any yarn stores and my walmart is a poor excuse for yarn selection. so my only option really is online. ur reviews helps me out a bunch!
Someone else may have posted this info already but I think it’s worth posting again. The Hygge yarn actually comes in 2 sizes - 8 oz (232 yds) and 5 oz (137 yds.) The large one retails for $9.99 and the small one $5.99-$6.99. I found this out the hard way - ended up under buying what I needed. I have only purchased it on sale and I love it, so I think it’s worth it. I haven’t tried the others but after watching your video I will definitely be trying the Latte Cakes. Thank you for the very helpful video!
I love the Latte Cake and Hygee. The latte cakes have been hard to find, but with enough searching, I was able to find a few, which I bought quite a supply. I agree with you! Yarnspirations should’ve sold it at Joann’s, etc. It’s such a great yarn. Love the Hygge as well and it’s always in stock at Joann’s. Thank you for your reviews and tutorials. Love your channel!
Thanks for the review! I haven't tried any of those yarns. So it's nice to know about them before buying them. I can't wait to try the Caron one it looks really nice. Thanks again!
I got the hygge yarn at Walmart today for $2 a skein! I bought 15 skeins for $2 a piece. I'm gonna make dresses for 2 of my granddaughters. Happy Dancing. I love this yarn
I made a hat/scarf set in pink Hygge yarn and I adore it! It washed beautifully and no shedding after. During working with it, it did shed a tiny bit, but after washing, none at all. The hat is one of the warmest and softest I've ever made. I bought mine at Walmart for $4.84. I still wish no yarn would cost more than $3! LOL I'm going to use Hygge for gift items next year while still looking for sales. I've never tried the other two, but I will buy the Latte Cakes based on your review.
Love your reviews Crystal. So helpful because when I'm comparing yarns in the store I get so overwhelmed and these videos help me to focus on what I'm looking for! Knowing how it frogs is SO important to me!! Thanks Crystal 💕😀
I have never tried any of them yet but th ank you for showing us which are the best price value and how they crochet keep it up crystal and thank you for sharing with everyone x
Boy I sure appreciate these kinds of videos! The reviews are so helpful and the comparisons side by side are great. I might try them all on my own to come to my own conclusions but I do know that I have to frog my work a lot and am wary of that red lion.
I bought the caron latte cakes while shopping at your retreat. I purchased the Hygge at Michaels in Canada to trim my two dogs Christmas dress. Haven't seen the Lion Brand one. Definitely would buy the latte for cost. The Redheart Hygge I was able to get at 50% off from 8.99 cdn. Was the only one in a solid white to trim the dress in the fashion I wish. If the others came in solid they'd sell more. Thanks for your honest opinion Crystal.
I like the Caron latte cakes. The price for what u get is reasonable. I like going to Michaels too. I agree with you Crystal on the yarns. I would never pay 14.99 for any skein of yarn. Thanks for the review.
I haven’t used any of these yarns but I would definitely try the Caron Latte and Hygge if I can find it on sale. Thanks for your review. I appreciate your input.
I posted a video of me working up a Pure Innocence Shawl from your collection Crystal, and the name of the Caron Cake was Pumpkin Spice, which they don’t have anymore. I absolutely loved that colorway! The colors were so Autumn like. I am so sad 😞 that they don’t have it anymore. I sent a message to Yarnspirations asking if they would bring it back.
The Caron cake Takes the Cake love it! Okay I haven't tried anything other than the Caron latte cake so I agree with you on that it is the softest and easiest and best value. The Lion Brand right off the get-go I would never buy it because you cannot frog it that's a complete waste money down the drain. Now red heart I would try I love Red Heart yarns even though it may shed I would take that over the Lion Brand even though it's more expensive I'm sure you could get it on sale somewhere. But I love the way you do the yarn comparisons. Bag o day best site on UA-cam you and your family are awesome thank you again Crystal!
Great review, thanks so much. I have not used any of them but saw the Red Heart Hygge at Jo Ann's. It felt very soft and I really liked that, but like u, felt the price was too high for the very small amnt of yardage. Didn't realize it sheds and I wouldn't have liked that.
I’m very thankful you did this review. I have been intimidated by the fuzzy’s, but tempted because they are so soft and I like the colors! I am not scared to try them now. Thank you Crystal!
Great review. I've been attracted to latte cakes and know from your shopping videos how much you like them but didn't really know them. Have yet to be able to get them on sale, kept missing out. But I have touched it and it's so soft but the fur scared me. Now I know ty
Thx for the demo on these 3 yarns . Something to be mindful of . I have not tried none of these yarns l don’t think l would like to crochet with them. due to the texture.
I never bought the latte cake until you did a project. I've not used the lion brand, I bought the hygge, it was on sale and I had a 25% off my total purchase for that price I could justify the 6 skeins I bought in green for a throw for myself. I looked at it for weeks because I just can't spend that kind of money. Glad I got it but I'm a true blue Latte girl now.
Thanks so much for this review!!! I have been debating on the hygee yarn at walmart, but even at $4.98 I can't see paying that for so little yardage. It would take so much to make something big with it. It is super soft though. I love the latte cakes!!!
I got mine ,hygge at Walmart, 4.89 or 4.87 . I wanted a solid color to match my coat and gloves. I bought two. It works up beautifully. It will be cold enough to wear my hat when I finish it.
Latte Cakes is the only one I’ve tried and it is so nice to c ocher with! I’m still looking for the just right shawl pattern and I’ve made a lap throw so far. Nice yarn.
Great review Crystal. I love the Caron Latte Cakes myself. I haven’t heard of the Lion Brand Soft Spoken before. I wouldn’t pay that price but even if it were $2 a skein, no thanks. Not the way it frogs or doesn’t to be precise. I also like the colors of the Latte cakes better. They are softer, more muted. More my style. I’m not into bright colors although some I saw on the website were pretty. I’ve never tried the Hygge and after this review I won’t bother. Too expensive for too little yarn. Although if it were $2 a skein I may try it, lol. Again, a very thorough review. Thanks!
Crystal, I drove to Michaels for Latte Cakes yesterday morning and they were on clearance 50% off! I'm knitting a short row scarf and also using Joanne's Buttercream Angel Hair 👍
The only one I've tried is the Caron Latte Cakes, I love this yarn! From your review, I don't see myself buying either of the other two brands. Thanks for doing these reviews, they're quite helpful.

I have not tried the latte cakes but have tried the hygge and I love it so I will stock up on the latte as the yardage is there thanks for showing these yarns.
I’ve been wanting to try the hygge. It’s so pretty. I have the Caron Latte cakes and wasn’t crazy about it. It does frog though. Ha LB too expensive but gorgeous colors. Tfs.
Excellent review, I have not had the opportunity to work with this type of yarn yet. I appreciate your honest opinion and will check out the Caron Latte Cakes. Respectfully, Donna K.
Cool review, thanks. I have not tried any of them but you had spoken about latte cakes before so I bought a few. I have not used them but I have petted them and I am trying to find the right projects for them.
I am so glad you did this demonstration because I have stayed away from these type yarns, but now I will definitely try the Caron Latte cakes! Thanks :)
I love the hygge yarn. I have made 10 scarves, I have not had shedding on my black sweaters but I get it for 4.84 at Walmart
Awsome!! My Walmart doesn't sell it, but I hope they do soon. I like $4.84 better than $6.99...
Terry Benson I LOVE hygge yarn also....am making a blanket for my son and D-I-L.....have made a couple of scarves also....it has never shed
I Love the Hygge yarn you can get at Walmart for $3.47/skein. I haven't had a problem with it shedding. I guess to each his own.
I loveeee the Caron latte cakes,,,,I got it on clearance at Michael's a couple of weeks ago so I'm pretty stocked up and working on an Afghan. Great review!!!!
Thanks Crystal great review. Glad I bought four latte cakes at michaels the other day. They were clearance priced at $4.97. Haven’t tried it yet.
About a month ago I found the latte cake on clearance at my Michael's for $5 plus I had a %20 off coupon!
After Christmas sale is time to buy them at Micheals!😀
I LOVE the Caron Latte Cakes! So easy to crochet with and such a pleasure to work with as it's soooo soft!
I'm on a tight budget, so I like Red Heart & Caron. Lol, Crystal you are a real hoot! I love these reviews & I love the shopping trips.
I've only tried the Latte Cakes & I absolutely love them!!!:-):-):-)

Thank you Crystal , I like the Caron latte cakes ,my family loves soft yarn in what ever I make them 💟💟💟 yarn
I had used Latte cakes and love it! So soft, smooth, and price is great!!!
I’ve only used the Latte Cakes, and I loved working with it. Will definitely buy it again. ❤️🧶

Only tried Caron Latte cakes which I just love. If I can find the hygge for a good discount I would try it because...solids!
Joyce M Swensson I love hygge....so soft and hook just glides right thru it...it has never shed for me
I would think it would be difficult but look at their look so easy to crochet with the fuzzy yarn that is good to know thank you for sharing
I've crocheted with the red heart hygge and the Caron Latte cakes. Hands down I prefer the Caron Latte cakes. Like you said, better value for the money. Great yardage, easy to crochet and frog, super pretty.

Caron cake in Latte is the best deal up there. Thank you for your opinion on the yarn's!🌹
Thank you for the review. I agree with you that Hygge is a better deal and easier to work with. Walmart sells it here in Leavenworth Kansas

Hi, I made a hat with the hygge. I love it. Easy to crochet and it feels like it will be nice and warm. And it looks nice :)

Hello crystal thank you for this review. I do like the caron latte cakes
Made a poncho out of the Caron Cakes Latte - love it! Never heard of the Soft Spoken - too pricey. And I haven't tried the Hygge.
Thank you so much for this video. I love your Yarn Reviews.
Great review. I have never tried any of them. Maybe its time to try Caron Latte Cakes. Thanks Crystal.
I have not tried these yarns yet.
but I'll keep your advice in mind....
thank you 😁
Thanks so much for this review!!! I have been debating on the hygee yarn at walmart, but even at $4.98 I can't see paying that for so little yardage. It would take so much to make something big with it. It is super soft though. I love the latte cakes!!!
I bought hygge yarn for $4.68 a skein
I have made scarves from the hygge and latte cakes and look great . Thanks for letting us know about lion brand
I got mine ,hygge at Walmart, 4.89 or 4.87 . I wanted a solid color to match my coat and gloves. I bought two. It works up beautifully. It will be cold enough to wear my hat when I finish it.
Thank you Crystal good information
Thanks Crystal.
Latte Cakes is the only one I’ve tried and it is so nice to c ocher with! I’m still looking for the just right shawl pattern and I’ve made a lap throw so far. Nice yarn.
I have the latte cake...I do like it but not my favorite..love watching your vidoes
Thanks!
Really enjoys your reviews. Ty.
Crystal, I drove to Michaels for Latte Cakes yesterday morning and they were on clearance 50% off! I'm knitting a short row scarf and also using Joanne's Buttercream Angel Hair 👍
Hugge yarn I have used. I really like it a lot very soft.
The only one I've tried is the Caron Latte Cakes, I love this yarn! From your review, I don't see myself buying either of the other two brands. Thanks for doing these reviews, they're quite helpful.
Thank you for the review. Love the Latte 💕
Thanks Crystal good to know
Thank You so much for this yarn comparison. I loved this video.
Thank you for this info I would pick the Caron latte cakes
Thank you I appreciate your reviews
Thank you so much for the yarn review crystal I haven't tried any of these yarns yet. But I really want to try the latte cakes
Ty for the review. Glad you said the Latte cakes were only at Michael's. I have been looking at Joanns and Walmart and Hobby lobby.
Thank your for your honest review! I haven't tried any of them to be honest! I just bought Mandalla Shawn in a Cake - can I just say, I was so impressed at the store I bought all three skeins because the colors called out to me???
Right? Thank you again Crystal!! ♥
Tfs.
Very interesting combo of yarn
Excellent review, I have not had the opportunity to work with this type of yarn yet. I appreciate your honest opinion and will check out the Caron Latte Cakes. Respectfully, Donna K.
Cool review, thanks. I have not tried any of them but you had spoken about latte cakes before so I bought a few. I have not used them but I have petted them and I am trying to find the right projects for them.
Thanks for the review. I've been wanting to try caron latte cakes.
