  • It is urgent that the lay public and emergency dispatchers (who may be providing over the phone instruction) understand the importance of emergency management of opioid poisoning. Administration of naloxone and compression-only CPR is recommended for the untrained public and/or for those who are trained but unable or unwilling to provide rescue breathing such as during the pandemic or the responder does not have proper PPE or CPR mask. This video offers an easy approach to care (naloxone administration and compression-only CPR) and is highly recommend for those who do not receive regular and frequent training.

    So is NARCAN/naloxone administered before or after chest compressions? Because it would also be effective in resuming breathing but wouldn’t want to delay CPR either
