They surface for sale on instagram periodically. They come with a hefty premium when sealed. You're fortunate to have that in your stack.
My absolute favorite bullion coin! I’ve noticed that these have been gaining in popularity in recent months. I was very lucky to scoop up several rolls of 1982-1986 for a killer deal a while back. I live in the Southwest, so they are a bit easier to find and tend to be relatively cheaper. Cool to see that original bank roll!

I have a bank wrapped roll I bought for spot price back when it was around $16 an ounce. I have always loved these coins.
if you have 1.5oz Canada tubes you can fit a old Libertad rolls into them for storage...
also the early year Libertad have ddo,ddr on them including a type 1,and 2 design on late 80s that are worth a decent flip. or to a 4 to1 or 8:1 profit almost a 8oz return off one coin if your stacking silver

I still have it. Along with the silver eagles, they are my favorite one ounce coins to stack.
Yeah...that's cool. I like the idea of getting rolls/tubes whenever it fits the budget, for the same reason: THEY'RE MINT! Until the second the tube is opened, they're ALL 100% PERFECT! There's also the idea that if you've got a full uncracked tube, you can always break 'em out and chuck a few into capsules when needed, and if not needed, they're easier to store. All around, good idea to snag the rolls whenever possible.

I've seen dozens of these rolls along with original rolls of Morgans on Instagram. Mexican coins are hot there.

Those vintage libertades look way cooler than the modern.
I got a roll of 1982s in the original banco de Mexico roll a few months ago from my LCS. This is the beauty of a LCS, you never know what will come through there. Picked up the roll for $500. I’m almost certain the coins will be toned since it’s a cardboard tube, but there is no way I’m cutting that banco de Mexico tape. It’s unopened and will remain that way.
Very cool roll, old new stock. I love the Mexican gold and silver coins. I'd keep it as it is and not open it. I think it adds value with it being unopened.

The Libertads are one of my favorite bullion coins.
They are cool. I have about seven of them. The tape on some of them has degraded as you said, but keep them in modern libertads tubes. They are a perfect fit. Thanks for the video. I really did think you were going to crack it open. PS: Good pronunciation on "México"
There are airtites for them on Onfireguy, they have a black foam ring. It actually fits right unlike the ones for the Canadian silver dollars, which were like a mm thinner. I think they sell tubes for those too now.
The downside to the one fire guy capsules for 36m xD is that the black gasket blocks the beautiful rims on these unique coins. Still a great way to keep them safe. I wish he sold direct fit versions without the black gasket

36 mm black ring air tights, perfect fit. Didn't understand the prices or hype until a month ago. Something cought my eye looking at my 2004 at different angles by my saltwater fish tank lighting. Now I'm aggressively all in on Libertads, cought the Libertad bug I guess. Great video again Sal

Hi Sal, the closest holder you can for the older Libertads is a Model-X capsule with a 36mm black ring insert. Unfortunately, the inside diametre of the X is 47.625mm and the ring outer diametre is 46.177mm, so not a perfect fit, but it will protect the coin. The smallest ring they make for the X capsule is 38mm, great for Canadian 1 1/2oz coins. Maybe they need some persuading.

I found the capsules no problem with my older libertads they fit just right. It was someone in Mexico selling the capsules on eBay
Have a 2012 libertad original roll. Was still in cardboard but wrapped in silver banco de Mexico tape.

I've seen a quite a few sealed rolls for sale before. Usually priced well over spot.
Agreed, usually the ones still in rolls are from 82-85 I don't recall seeing years 91(types 1 or 2) to 94 in original mint roll before though

I love those old Libertads and I'm not a fan of smooth edges but in this case it fits the coin. I'd be so tempted opening that unopened roll you have...so tempting. Good move though, I think it adds value.

Sal those are amazing looking. I don't own any of the older ones but I'm loading up on all the sizes of the 2020 ones. Even gonna pull the trigger and get a 1oz gold and 1/2 oz enhanced proof. The old school libs are 36mm and they make tubes for them. I saw a roll once but they were too pricey. Those are going for 4 over spot probably because no one else has done. Im just waiting for my 2020s come in.

Very nice coins (rounds?). Mine (10 one-ounce and one 1/10 oz) are quite recent (2019), so I think I'll be looking for the older, classic ones now that I've watched this cool video!

Love these Libertad rolls. Its almost all i buy anymore for silver other than ase and bars. Dont ever open those unopened rolls. Yes it absolutely increases premium. Currently have 5 sealed qnd several opened. I would buy yours hit me up. VeryNice 😍🤠🇲🇽

Finally!!! Someone who calls Libertad (Spanish for Liberty) by their proper name. I'm so sick and tired of people calling them "Mexican ONZA's." Onza is the Spanish word for ounce. It's like calling silver eagles "American ounces." Smh
