Idiotic.. why should Glock be liable for someone else CRIMINAL activity? Same thing killed the small general aviation industry. Lawyers love this crap.
They shouldn't be liable even 1%. Tell me, how do you design a Glock which CAN'T have a new switch designed for it? You'd have to build a new design & then hire engineers to try to defeat it. Then some engineer in China will design one & start selling it. Then what? Glock has to redesign another one & immediately stop selling that model too? Then what? The existing models can still be used. It's a NEVER-ENDING issue that would cost Glock EVERY SINGLE penny that it has.
the aftermarket people made the switch component for Glock because Glock is popular. They can make a simular component for other striker operated handguns as well.
Agreed. His take is GARBAGE. There's ZERO obligation on a company to spend MILLIONS of their profit because of what criminals have illegally done with their products. At this point China itself is involved in creating & designing things like the Glock switch. Tell me how do you design a "switch-proof" firearm??? There's no answer to that. On top of this, there are millions of compatible Glock firearms that will always be able to be used on top of then simply designing a new switch that can be used.
Agreed. Glock ISN'T responsible for illegal use of their product. They shouldn't have to spend MILLIONS in which there's ZERO guarantee that a new switch can't be designed.
The problem he is trying to make you aware of isn't with Glocks design. It's with our highly anti-gun government. Your right the problem isn't with Glock this is 100% outside their control as it is for all manufacturers. The problem is with our ever increasingly anti-gun government looking for any excuse they can possibly find to take away our rights.
The Glock's reliability and popularity make it an easy target, but let’s not forget why it’s so well-loved by responsible gun owners. This isn’t just an attack on a brand-it’s a broader push against our rights.
The only reason why there are so many aftermarket parts for Glocks is because it's the most popular handgun out there. If Glocks were banned, people would just switch to using one of the many other similar handguns available, and then people would just start making similar aftermarket parts for that pistol. Alternatively, if Glock changes the design of their pistol so that it will no longer accept the switch, it's only a matter of time before someone out there with some time on their hands and free CAD software designs a new auto-sear for the new Glock design. Converting a Glock to full auto is already illegal. Punishing the manufacturer for the unlawful misuse of their product does absolutely nothing to solve the problem.
Vehicles can be modified. So if a vehicle explodes because of a modification can we sue the vehicle manufacturer? NO! So HOW THE HELL IS THIS ANY DIFFERENT?!
We need more 2A protection Gun companies should never be at fault for misuse of their products. Its like anything thats for sell the consumer should bare full responsibility of how they use a product.Their is a right and wrong way to do things and adults should be accountable for what they do Glock isn't responsible for accidents or willful wrong doing. They should sale their products with an agreement if they already dont.I never misuse firearms and cherish my 2A rights but for those who don't thats the problem but we always go past the real problem.I believe Glock shouldn't change anything because if you modify it a smart fellow will come along and make a brand new switch or device that will accommodate the outcome.
Why stop there? Do you now how many people fall down steps & pass away or get seriously injured? Ban steps. I slipped getting out of the shower. Ban showers. A criminal can now cause a company to spend it's profits on redesigning it's products? There's no ceiling on how much that can cost, especially after you do it once & another switch gets designed anyways! Then what? Throw away those models too? How is this fair at all to Glock? It's NOT & or shouldn't be tolerated.
Absolutely ridiculous! Hold a manufacturing company responsible because someone bought and modified their product? So if I buy a Jeep, put a 20 inch lift on it and add monster tires then I get to sue Stellantis (Jeep's current owner) because their product was able to be modified, I did so and rolled my Jeep injuring or killing someone. This theory can be applied to pretty much anything being manufactured for sale. Besides, try to design your product so that it _can't_ be modified and it wouldn't matter. Innovation and creativity will find a way.
This is the same as if my wife was driving a car and a drunk driver in a ford pickup hir her and killed everyone in her car then we all could sue ford for making a vehicle that could be driven by a drunk driver. A company who makes a product that is misused by a third party is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the actions of that third party.
Imagine having to redesign a kitchen knife because people get murdered with them EVERY SINGLE day! Screwdrivers. Ink pens. Ice picks. I mean they need to be redesigned so that a criminal CAN'T use them the wrong way. Tell me how you even do this the correct way with anything, even the Glock?
The Glock switches aren’t Glock’s problem. Criminals are the problem. Glock should fight this. Also, from what I understand, they’ve already changed the Glock. From what I read, the switches only works on Gen 3 Glocks. If it wasn’t for state restrictions they would problem retire the Gen 3s and manufacture Gen 5 pistols.
Well, the Supreme Court legalized bump stocks which pretty much makes the AR 15 or AK-47 shoot fully automatic but here it is someone can buy a Glock switch illegally and put it on a Glock and make it shoot fully automatic, but it’s illegal. The Glock switch and the bump stock makes a firearm shoot fully automatic. Looks like the only difference is the bump stock is legal and the Glock switch is not, so with that there’s a double standard.
Great info with being there Mark, thanks! Common sense says when it comes to being a criminal, you're the one to blame, not the weapon. However, this reminded me of when the Auto Industry was fighting Nader and the Feds for their lack of designing safer cars. One GM Executive summed up his feelings this way... "Install a spear in the center of the steering wheel and that'll stop everyone from driving reckless"! Imo he had a point, although a very selfish arrogant one.
How many Glocks are out there? This notion is like suing people for illegally modifying their 1990's Honda Civic. Buy at least the Civic comes with a suppressor, oh, I mean, a muffler.
My dad almost lost his left leg because his 3 screw 41 mag Blackhawk, fell on the hammer with a full cylinder. The bullet passed through his leg, at the knee. I still have it and haven't sent it back to be modified with the hammer safety. I'm not going to either. I'll just continue to carry it with an empty chamber under the hammer.
On the cigarette side of the argument, I give it 10-20 yrs and people will be suing because they caught cancer puffing on a cigarette to keep it lit where if the weren't FSC's they would be "fine"
In my humble opinion, when you consider the brand new Ruger pistol that just came out along with the Smith and Weston performance center line of semi-automatic pistols, Glock could very easily become obsolete. And when you add the lawsuit to it Glock, we could very easily become a pistol of the past..
I don't think you're wrong but it would take minor dimension changes to accommodate without reinventing the wheel. If anything, I would think Glock would be glad about this because it would tank the companies that made their bones on Gen 3 clones.
It's just like drug cartels you can knock one down but for everyone you knock down 15 more pop up so for every Glock switch design that you eliminate 15 different designs will pop up especially in the times we are in now
How does this law not get bounced because of the PLCAA. Sounds like the Blackhawk issue was a manufacturing issue. The switch is not a manufacturing issue. It’s a criminal issue.
Doesn't matter what the feds say doesn't matter what the states say if the sheriff is okay with it then everything is good the states and the feds have no power of enforcement but the sheriff does
So why aren't they going after the makers of the nfa tax stamp items for supplying people that don't have their pay to play pass instead? Unless Glock is selling nfa items to people that do not have a tax stamp there should be no liability for something they didn't do. Id imagine if Glock changes their design the people selling the switches will just supply a gun with one installed instead for an extra profit.
here's the difference, cigarette companies were using the paper, colt made their firearms that way. glock is not making it or installing the illegal items.. no difference between the Chinese coat hangers gor ARs or the trigger nonsense of late. glock should sue the states gor their lack of policing these parts
Those court cases will succeed in the lower courts that are anti-gun, simply because of political bias.. But as they get to the Supreme Court, this legal logic shouldn't hold up.. Creating a glock switch and installing it. Requires an intentional act and a skill level that a cigarette doesn't. Not to mention the Protections of The Second Amendment itself, which doesn't extend to cigarettes.
Philip Morris new that when they made the cigarettes. Glock don't make the switches. Plus the switches 90% were used by people that shouldn't be having any gun. My understanding that the switch doesn't work on all glocks. Just like sig not doing anything about there issues.
I disagree also because every modern composite pistol other than the Turkish Imports all operate exactly the same way so the Glock switch can be installed on Smith & Wesson M&P it can be put on the back of PSA daggers it can be put on the back of any so-called Striker Fired pistol that has the back plate on the back of the slide it would be like trying to sue all the AR companies because they knowingly know that you can use a shoelace or a coat hanger to make it full auto it's not the Gun Company it's the criminal gang Bangerz that are out there Glock switching it up and shooting people hold them accountable
Glocks are overrated crap anyways. I watch a lot of OIS badge cams and from what I analyzed is the Glocks malfunctions way more often than SIG or M&P’s. Either way I personally don’t care for plastic guns anyways.
A good gun smith can make any semiautomatic a full automatic
Idiotic.. why should Glock be liable for someone else CRIMINAL activity? Same thing killed the small general aviation industry. Lawyers love this crap.
They shouldn't be liable even 1%.

I disagree, why should Glock have to change based on illegal parts?
5:55 Parts which ARE NOT made or installed by Glock.
Agreed.
His take is GARBAGE.
There's ZERO obligation on a company to spend MILLIONS of their profit because of what criminals have illegally done with their products.

I thought congress past a law a while ago that stopped these kind of law suits.
Like suing car dealers for easy to steal the car 😮
Or easily driven while intoxicated
@jackwright9102 Minnesota is already doing this to Kia and another manufacturer.
@ that’s just crazy
Thank you for your content.

Such bullshit again and again
It all really makes sense. I think they should go after the match companies and cigarette lighter companies too. There are way too many fires.
Why stop there?
Do you now how many people fall down steps & pass away or get seriously injured? Ban steps.
I slipped getting out of the shower. Ban showers.

I've got news for ya. Glock pays a WHOLE lot of money for lawyers.

i bet you the executives of sig are rubbing theirs hands over this and pushed for it.
Doubt it😮 people that buy Glocks will not buy sigs in general. I am one of those people😅
The UNPRECEDENTED STUPIDITY OF people of just Beyond me man
Somebody goes and commits a crime let’s blame the INANIMATE OBJECT
LIKE WHAAAAAAT 😡
I would like to hear what Glock has to say.

It’s like over 20 states suing Glock.
Facts the state of Delaware is also suing
Glock will be forced to change their guns? Ha, have you ever tried to get Glock to change their guns?
Glock perfection. gen 1-2-3-4-5- pretty much the same gun.
@@DrTech-pw2cuyep
Even If they have Knowledge that someone can easily add a Switch; Glock is not Liable.
If Glock changes their switches , the after-market will also do the same to fit them
How many Glocks are out there? This notion is like suing people for illegally modifying their 1990's Honda Civic. Buy at least the Civic comes with a suppressor, oh, I mean, a muffler.
Thanks for sharing.
Did he ever get to naming the states?
Delaware is one of them, New Jersey is another. It's many more
And we all know why, it's the chosen "gat" of the big city street thugs.
I have never gotten my 3 screw updated.
If Glock changes their pistols, won't they just argue that such a change is a de-facto admission of responsibility?
Have u ever heard of the lightening link for the ar 15
I wonder if there’ll be a lawsuit against the 3D printer company that made the printer used to make the pistol used in the insurance CEO’s murder.
My dad almost lost his left leg because his 3 screw 41 mag Blackhawk, fell on the hammer with a full cylinder. The bullet passed through his leg, at the knee. This is a possible nightmare path! Any semi and a good gunsmith can be made full auto.
I think you spreading Fear is for more spotlight on your channel.

Mark has been hating on Glock for years
It's just like drug cartels you can knock one down but for everyone you knock down 15 more pop up so for every Glock switch design that you eliminate 15 different designs will pop up especially in the times we are in now
How does this law not get bounced because of the PLCAA. Sounds like the Blackhawk issue was a manufacturing issue. The switch is not a manufacturing issue. It’s a criminal issue.
And whatsup with the P320
Utterly ridiculous and complete insanity 📶
The ultimate winners of all this nonsense about the Glock switch is always going to be the Lawyers
Gaston Glock passed away not too long ago and now they're trying to take away his estate sick
Same idea
That’s not gonna stop anything. Technology is so advanced criminals will find a way
The case of common sense is upon us.
I dont go to those states. My glocks are safe here...
If I were Glock, I would pull out of the US market. How much of their sales do we represent? Only half of their US buyers would admit to owning one.
Doesn't matter what the feds say doesn't matter what the states say if the sheriff is okay with it then everything is good the states and the feds have no power of enforcement but the sheriff does

Need to sue Mexico for letting drugs into the country. Case closed !
here's the difference, cigarette companies were using the paper, colt made their firearms that way. glock is not making it or installing the illegal items.. no difference between the Chinese coat hangers gor ARs or the trigger nonsense of late. glock should sue the states gor their lack of policing these parts
Two completely different things and the Gen 5 has been upgraded not to accept one
Those court cases will succeed in the lower courts that are anti-gun, simply because of political bias..

Glock is not obligated to do nothing !!
Time to swap back to the M9, ey?
Then, every ar 15 and 1911will be next.
Philip Morris new that when they made the cigarettes. Glock don't make the switches. Plus the switches 90% were used by people that shouldn't be having any gun. My understanding that the switch doesn't work on all glocks. Just like sig not doing anything about there issues.
Why is Glock still selling to police?
Bullocks! Any car can be modified to increase hp, not manufacturers fault

If Glock really gave a crap they should change their gun design so it can't be used with the illegal gun parts.
Dumb take. Don’t agree at all with this analysis.
Americans can live without the Glock. Never owned one, never will. Americans can do better!!!
Like suing a ha.mer company b/c someone put a split on the handle end.
