Way to go nice work especially Super Meg 👍 John I think the tension on the cables on the saw mill might be right I think it's because of the small pulleys I think if they would be bigger there would be less stress 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Nice job on the cupola...Great kid's hut as well. Imagination of children is superb! Jon makes me nervous when he's working with the cable stretches and measuring tension.
Love the Cupola, looks good. I did the same thing a few years ago with a tire loosing air. Except it was like 3 times after I mowed i couldn't figure out why my grass was looking awful. Finally i saw my front tire was low.
So funny, right? I'm glad it was just the tire. I really didn't feel like adjusting the deck. I took it for a spin afterwards and the lawn looks sooo much better.
To accurately test the weight of the saw mill struts you need to attach your strain gage to the bolt going through the pullies and pull hard enough to lift the saw head. As for the tire you probably just have a slow leak. It was low but not flat or the rim would be sitting on the ground, There was no need to take the wheel off once you lifted the tire off the ground you should spray it with soapy water and if your old plug or another spot is leahing the soap will bubble at the leak. I have used string plugs on tires for 40 years and always carry them in the car for quick repairs. Waiting to see the fish on your shed.
Hi Tim, it's a weird multiple pulley setup, which is why the weights are different on each side. I could have shown it better from the other side, which would explain why I had to do it that way. Still, that tension was a lot higher than I would have ever guessed, especially after 2 and 3 pulleys.
each cable should be holding 50% of the total cutter assembly weight. I think that using the ratchet strap piece messed with the distribution. Does it make sense that the cutter head assembly is 400#?

Your Cupola looks great
Lol John! Keeping it real working on the band saw. I really enjoy each episode you and Meg produce.
Thanks Jeff -haha. I'm determined to make this cheap sawmill something special 😉
The girls need a small quad like a 50. They could travel the trails and have a blast!

You should see all the details, Gere. I love how creative they are.

The Cupolla looks pretty cool
Like, very nice.
I love your cupola. You should name it Francis Ford… Cupola. Right? Get it!? 😆
Great, Sara. Now I'll look at it and think of the Godfather. Thanks. Haha!

👍🏻
To see sn air leak dilute dish soap with water in a jug and pour it on the tire. Wherever there is a leak you will have bubbles galore.
get you some Slime tire repair and it will take care of all tiny air leaks.
How much did your installed trailer brake system cost you for your Dodge Ram pickup?

Get some solid rubber tire then they can't go flat😂.
