    I jut finished swimming, running, and walking the equivalent of the Equator, 25,000 miles. I certainly would have loved to have a swimming pool in my backyard! I am jealous. A one lane lap pool would be AWESOME!

      We can't tell if you're being serious or if you're exaggerating...25,000 miles?

      River Pools I am serious. Years ago, I hear about a man who walked around the world, and I said, I can do that, too. I said if he walked using his body only, I can walk and run using only my body. Then I said, I can also swim using only my body. But, I cannot ride a bicycle because that would be cheating. The longest way around the earth is the Equator, so I picked my goal of 25,000 miles. I kept a record of every single mile I ran, walked, and swam. On April 5, 2020 I completed my journey around the world. Every single mile is documented. I was one happy guy when I finish. Yes, I am serious, and I have all my documents to prove it. The local YMCA gave me a T-shirt.
      I swim, ran, walked the equivalent of the equator‘s length, 25,000 miles.

      River Pools I live in Sidney, Ohio and swim at the YMCA in Sidney. Swim, Run, Walk The Equator 25,000 Miles
      Years ago, I heard about a man who walked around the world. I knew I could do that, too. Then I thought, if I went around the Equator, that would be the longest distance around the Earth, 25,000 miles. I decided I could only use my body: swim, run, and walk. I recorded the dates and miles of every swim, run, and walk. To encourage myself, I put a note on my bathroom mirror that read, “A Journey of 25,000 Miles Begin with a Single Step”.
      The best thing about my journey was all the new friends I made swimming, running, and walking. They encouraged me, and I encouraged them. Some of the nicknames they gave me were: Magellan, Equator Man, Aquaman, Tarzan, and Superman. I always told them I prefer Rick, ha.
      To encourage myself, I would set goals, for example: run outside 1,000 straight days between 8 and 10 miles a run in every weather condition including storms. Swim 1,000 miles in the Sidney YMCA. I swam 2.5 miles Monday through Friday and 1.25 miles on Saturday. I fell asleep on a few of my long swims for about ten to fifteen minutes. When I woke up, I was still swimming. I looked at my lap time, I realized I dozed off. I noticed I kept count of my laps on my lap ring counter as I flipped at the ends of the pool and continued my swim. I continued on my swim without stopping. That is a great example of the body using muscle memory. That was a weird feeling. I never took a day off to rest. I should have, but I did not. I had my Apple iPod waterproofed. I clipped it behind my goggle straps and used waterproof earphones to listen to podcasts to keep me entertained and awake during my longer swims.
      When I taught school, I would get up at 4:15 AM and start running and walking for an hour before breakfast. After school, I would continue with a second run or walk before dinner. Some of my long runs were between 16 and 20 miles a day.
      I did a long triathlon where I had to swim 1 1/8 miles, cycle 55 miles, and run 13.1 miles. I was not able to count the 55 miles cycling for my journey.
      I am not your typical long distance slender built athlete. I played defensive tackle in college. I was a pretty big guy. I never won any distance races, but I always finished them.
      I cringe when I think of all the miles I swam and ran in the Navy and never record the miles! I served on an aircraft carrier and ran hundreds of miles on the flight deck out at sea. One of my favorite Navy picture is me running on the flight deck out at sea with a shipmate. I love the oceans, Navy, my Navy buddies.
      Yes, I would do a 25,000 mile journey again, but I would keep two journals: one for my miles and the second for all the friends I made swimming, running, and walking. What a journey!

    -do you produce lap pools,and what is the longest of the shelf size one can get?
    -is it possible to manufacture 3x25m pool with 2 metars deep end?
    Thank you

      @RiverPools 4 роки тому

      Hi Vlado Petrovski! We do not manufacture a lap pool. You may want to look into a custom concrete pool.

      @@RiverPools Would it be possible do you think, to manufacture a lap pool sectioned in say 10' segments that a customer could have joined together in whatever length? (Maybe even have 90 degree radius turn sections ?) I'm thinking a system where the segments could be joined at the job site via epoxy ? OR maybe better male/ female joints where a rubber gasket is sandwiches between the overlapped joints? Maybe mould in stainless studs into the male part of joint so that no hardware protrudes inside of pool and then nuts thread down on against the outside of female section? ...maybe apply sealant to the joint in addition to the gasket making it totally water tight? I'm thinking the moulded in stud would be a custom mfg to have a large fender washer like head embedded in the fiberglass to spread the load and keep the joint completely free of protrusion inside the pool? Could actually create a 50' narrow lap pool that turns 180 degrees and goes BACK 50' the opposite direction and then 180s again and joins into the first 50' secition....a REAL "lap pool" in every sense of the word!...AND with the right pumps and Jets it could also be a "river" run you could float endlessly round and round on a float lounge or water wings on children! With garden in the middle and around the outside AND even through a large fiberglass "rock cave" with waterfall you go right through! (which of course you could ALSO make and sell in sections for spipping) Would just be AWESOME! Would REALLY live up to the business name "River Pools"

    • @stormtrooper9404
      @stormtrooper9404 3 роки тому

      Dougie Quick It is possible from technical point of view! I have informed myself a bit better,and learned that fiberglass sections could be easily glass in and gelcoated as one piece.
      However... good luck finding a company that would want to do that!
      The profits are in the out of mold serialy produced pools(very overpriced in the US),so no company would even want to hear your wishes.
      Am looking for a company that already produce(i.e has the molds) for lap pools,to custom make two 40' sections,and than taking the job by myself... as obviously glassing two sections isnt nuclear physics!

We didn't go to film school...heck we've never even been considered for an oscar nominee (maybe one day). We're just a bunch of pool guys and gals trying to make the pool buying experience interesting and provide as much information as we can. The goal for this video in particular was to simply convey the idea that fiberglass pools come in a variety of sizes. To that end, it looks like we succeeded. The better move would have been to point you towards more information regarding various models. Sooooo...here is the link to the R-Series page (formerly known as the Resonance).
