Good sales and great tips! You hit the nail on the head saying to focus on what you can control, especially your input. Listing, listing, listing. That’s what drives sales. Thanks for sharing Josh!
I have fallen in the category of comparing myself to others a lot in the past. Great advice is to compare yourself to yourself. I would get down on myself by just scrolling IG or watching YT.
I definitely understand. It's something I have to remind myself constantly, because I think it's only natural for us to try and compare ourselves to other people lol 😭 Appreciate you watching Dan!
Thanks! Josh very good video. All this information is helpful to keep it real. There are so many successful resellers and it can be encouraging or discouraging. Helping us keep a good perspective is a 👍 to me.
Looks to me like you are already doing very well with numbers. It’s easy to get caught up comparing yourself to others, even yourself with past (or expected) results. Social media does make it worse. One thing to remember is those that share are such a low % that they can never be considered the norm. And that’s expecting that they reveal all including what would make them have less positive results and nothing is inflated. This business is a grind. Easy enough to make $$$ but to be consistent, you need to be also. Always ups and downs so even skip those comparisons, just keep up with that input. For actual numbers, under a perfect world with 100% sales, you must list as much as you wish to sell. So for $1000 a month and to have weekends and holidays off, you better be listing $50 a day average, every day. Personally I feel the normal eBay seller with the normal assortment of goods needs to have a base inventory $$$ listed that is 3-5 times the wished for amount of $$$ sales. I usually think it takes about a year of full activity to get there. If shooting for a few months, you better be listing twice the desired amount daily. For $1000/month, that’s $100 a work day. When starting out, sales can’t always be taken as normal. People put their best items first which have higher prices and sell thru rates often, besides the fact of eBay being inconsistent with newly active accounts. Goals are great, but just put your emphasis on input and over time the output will be there. But my personal opinion is not to expect or depend on certain numbers until a fair amount of time has passed. The same as expected with most types of business
To be honest you Learn more from mistakes than you do from success because mistakes cost you something so you remember them. Josh you work hard and you will do great.
Your 3rd point was spot on; wish I could walk into a store and find the crazy good electronics and kitchen things that Tim Osborn of Osborn to Thrift does, but no such store like that in my area. Would love to sell Patagonia, have yet to find a piece. BUT I’ve done well with vintage housewares at three vintage events this year. You go with what you can source, and there is something out there anyone can make a profit on!
It really is amazing how over complicated we can make a 5 step process of source, prep, photo, list, ship. Since I have started focusing on these steps reselling has become soooo much easier.
Agreed. The best thing you can do in this business is buy your time back. Like for me buying a dymo label printer and buying bubble poly mailers the exact size of video games/DVD’s etc has saved me so much time
You already know that you can do it and you have already made it over the hurdles or learning and knowing what to source so I have full confidence you will reach your goals
You are a breath of fresh air Josh. Its nice to see sales at the beginning of building a business, once ones mind set is clear that these are the goals intended, and that comparing oneself to others only stagnates it. Go for that $10K!👌
Josh, I'm glad to see you back man! One of my favorite UA-cam channels for reselling. I have bought products from you in the past. The most important thing I learned from reselling is consistency. Listing every day and learning every day is essential. Also, having your processes in place is a time saver.
Excellent content, Josh! I am a new PT reseller started at end of last year and I needed a little encouragement. I need to be more disciplined and list more often to increase sales. I have at least two piles of inventory sitting in my office. LOL. Thanks for the advice 😃
Hi Josh, came across your channel. Great tips here. Looking forward to review your other videos so a new subscriber here. I thought your numbers looked pretty good to me for just being a full time reseller. So keep up the good work!
I love fi resellers too! Super smart team! I agree, it's not complicated! But it is easy to get obsessed with numbers, I've l learned to let it go too!😅
Great video. As always i relate a lot to the fact of comparing myself to others on UA-cam. I hope to be able to look at it as you do and only compare myself to myself! Thanks for the Video !!
It's definitely something I have to remind myself often. I think it's normal for us to compare if we don't give ourselves that reminder. Appreciate you watching!
I like your basement setup for ebay. That’s what my wife and I are looking for in our next home, a basement setup similar to yours to run eBay out of. Our 2 car Garage is overflowing!! Lol. Awesome videos as always Josh! Your last 7 days look like you may get to the 10K before the 3 months!!
Josh I think with only 500 things listed it’s not enough to try and get $10,000.00 a month. Daily listing of at least 10+ items is a start to get noticed. Perhaps invest in a bread and butter item that would sell each day. I wish you tons of luck 👍👍👍👍👍💰💰👍👍👍💰💰💰
Appreciate you watching! I've been listing as much as I can these days to get to where I need 😊 I was at about 250 when I quit my job, so trying my best to ramp it up!
Well said friend: I’d like to throw in : don’t get upset when a item sells immediately and you beat yourself up because you sold it too cheap. A sale is a sale and move on to the next sale. 2) the list more get more sales theory is not exact. List quality over quantity. 3) run day long promotion sales to clear out old stock…….
Love those things you mentioned! Listing quality is so important. And definitely can't beat yourself up for selling something too cheap. Just need to take the money you made, and make more money!
You should get to the 10 k mark easily. It’s Christmas shopping season. Best time of the year for us resellers. I wish you all the luck & success in the world …. Sending good vibes your way 👋🏼👋🏼😇🤩👐🏼👐🏼🤗
People who aren’t Veterans have no idea what it’s like to step out of that role. I’m not one, but my son is, and it takes a minute to transition to civilian life. I’m glad you’re back to doing what you enjoy, the critics can keep walking! Thank you for your service and I, for one of many, will be cheering you on during your reselling career! 🤗
My advice is have a good relationship with other resellers locally. There's been times that they had picked up stuff that I resell and I would return the favor.
@@Josh-Kim oh ok. You lucky then. Unfortunately mine is on my current work plan . I could go on hers but she may be going on disability soon so my only option will be private health care which can be expensive
Is all about what items you sell (price point) and how much you have listed (As well quality and demand).. I see those making that amount monthly have listed over 2500 items and average price point between 40-60 and assuming they sell over 200 items monthly
I noticed your videos have that jump flicker in them when you are editing. I'm no pro in making videos. I just noticed the flickering. I'm sure one of the viewers that are pros at editing can help you out with it.

Reselling is a marathon not a sprint. Sometimes you get the quick turnover, BOLO sprint item. Just remember to keep on grinding.
So true! Reselling really is a marathon, not a sprint.
So Josh since you are back to fulltime reselling, I'm curious as to what you do for health insurance? That's the one thing I worry about

rule number 4: dont send no package to anyone in bronx, NY. Ive been scammed as a seller 3 times from that place. "unauthorized purchase" my ass
Glad you had a good sale, but I really have no idea why people care that much about the cup they drink out of.
