This was our perfect way of celebrating Valentines Day, a romantic meal out, then racing home to watch this episode. Thanks Robin lol. Janine Harris (and Andrew) xx
Congratulations Robin that was a great video to watch so you must have enjoyed making the trip and seeing your boat perform well. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip. I hope you broke out the rum rations at Weymouth!
Fresh Water System Hi Rob, I posted the following two weeks ago in response to your query but repeat it here: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've been having fun at the Dusseldorf Boat Show. My water pump is a Jabsco 31620-0092 PARMAX 4 PUMP 12v HIGH PRESSURE. From memory it cuts in at 20psi and cuts out at 40psi. We have no problems with pressure. However, when I bought the boat, the 8 litre accumulator tank was not switched into the circuit and was not pressurised. On my boat it's in the diagonally opposite corner of the engine room to the pump and has its own pressure guage. Once the two isolation valves were opened and the tank pumped up the system works very smoothly. The water supply to the stern washroom shower is t'd off from the supply pipe just before the branch to the galley tap. If the shower pressure is OK have a look behind the cupboards under the galley sink and check that the valves on the sink tap feed are fully open. Hope this info helps. All the best, Stuart
Hi Robin. A great video as always. I subscribed to your Chanel ages ago and have watched nearly all if not all of your broads videos and am now looking forward to following you on your new adventure.
Hi Robin She handled those conditions rather well.... By any chance when listing to one side if there was any un pumped water left in the bilge could have kicked the float switch on. Or were they on for a long period of time to suggesting water had come in via the engine vents? Looking forward to the next instalment
Later in the trip (between Dover and Great Yarmouth) I did just that. It did not help much mind you, and to give an idea of the rough seas she encountered two of the straps that hold the RIB down with a breaking rate of 700KG broke. The RIB was lifted about 6" up with the pounding, and the crane lifting hook ripped through the RIB cover. The fact that water would come into the engine room bilge during these very large heeling over events, showed she was listing over 36 degrees to cause water to come in through the hull air intakes. Despite it she kept on going like this, hour after hour.
As they say, every little helps Robin. She's obviously 'lively.' As an ex-RN minesweeper man, we used to encounter large broachings quite often. Always fun, waiting for her to return upright after a particularly large heel. Might be an idea to have a stability test at some stage. Glad everything is going well otherwise and from your reply, note that you have safely made it to Gt. Yarmouth. Congratulations.
You will find out as we go what happened but lets just say this video was nothing to the seas later in the trip - she might pitch and roll a lot but she is a safe boat and I would not take her out in those sort of conditions willingly again.
hi Robin, what a great video weve been looking forward to this and have not been disapointed we hope all goes well for you on the next stretch and seeing this I think in 2019 on san fernando, we may turn left from the bure at yarmouth ha ha.Look forward to the second half of your trip. remember we met at Horning 2016 best regards, Stuart and Irene Bull .
I have no idea because I have been spending so much time on the boat, dealing with a fuel leak caused by the heater installation guy and having a Boat Safety Scheme examination and now having Norfolk Yacht Agency to put right such items that need to be. Video production has gone out the window for the time being. Sorry.
I can confirm it does indeed because that is where she is now moored - albeit only is able to cruise some of the southern rivers, and with a 5ft 2" draft, she can't do all of them unless at high water so she still floats.
These are brilliant Vlogs amazing days and amazing ways of travelling "in winter" 😮😊
Fantastic really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the second leg of your trip. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your journey so far, looking forward to the next leg!

Well done captain, hope the rest of your journey went as smoothly for you as that leg did, ( or seemed to rather ).

Great start Robin, new camera gear gives a great result, just a shame the nut on the mike was loose 😝 looking forward to the rest.

Oh this was nothing compared to what comes later when the waves were higher than the top of the boat.
A thought Robin. Would it be possible to stow the crane/davit athwartships to help reduce the weight on the port side?

I sure do, pleased you are following along still - and the Norfolk videos are not over with just yet :)
when will delivery trip 2 be up please ?

Would this fit on the broads ?

Sooooo exciting!!!
