It doesn't sound like Italian. one must understand deeply enough how the original instrument produce its timbre. a mere copy of the original instruments never sound well
Well, of course this isn’t true. These were not 200+ year old instruments in the days of Stradivari...they were made and played new then, just as they are now.
The original instrument has been played for maybe 240 years by the best players and the new build one still has to grow, because it was the first time someone let it speak. Don’t bully a baby … poor cello!
Great sound
Just imagine when it’s broken in, it’ll sound even better!
We'd love some more videos about instruments in your collection!
one of the great moment in music BRAVO!!!!!!!!
00:15 - ... strum-strum .... *knock* _ouch_ (!) 😲
Was it the bow hitting the instrument?
@@nns6356 yes, I suspect so
Yes! Omg. And then flipping it around like bag of potatoes. Brrrr. But he probaby knows what he’s doing.
Que grave potente.
My instrument does not sound half this good... where do you find the part that goes between the cello and the stool?
Love posture pegs!
Great cello!
name of the part? 01:03
Amazing!
Rostropovich mostly played on his very famous “Duport” Stradivari, now owned, I think, by his daughter Olga.
This is what I was thinking too… I had understood that Rostropovich played the duport strad, and that the family kept the instrument after his death.
What's the piece in the beginning?😍 (minute 1)
it's the second movement of lalo's cello concerto in d minor
Sounds like Dvorak but maybe not what he played a minute in
Edouard Lalo cello concerto 2nd mvt
From 2:31 it was one of bach’s cello suites
Now play the ELGAR
