    For those wondering, our theme park tickets were $223 per person for 4 days. Sunday was the most expensive ticket at $63 and the other days were $53.
    Since we stayed off property we took public transport, trains for 4 days from our hotel near the airport came to about $48 per person or about $12 a day.

    DisneySea is our favorite! Went there last August for the first time. It was hot, but breezy because you're by the sea. And a lot less chaotic than Tokyo Disneyland. Definitely choose DisneySea if you're short on time in Tokyo. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! You did so much! The Aquatopia ride is different in the summer. You actually get soaked!

    So glad you finally made it there!! It’s been a big part of my life for so many years. I was on the initial design team starting around 1995 or so. I’ve had 2 or 3 major projects there over the years and I love each chance to be there. It is clearly the most beautiful and extravagant Disney park in the world. Sinbad is such a treasure with the Art Direction of the legendary Larry Nikolai and it was produced by Chris Crump (Rolly’s Son). I was hoping you I could see the Magic Lamp Theater which was my life for 5 years. It IS only in Japanese, however. Maybe another day ;-) I DO hope you can see “Believe! Sea of Dreams” before you leave. Possibly the most amazing spectacle in the Disney collection. There is nothing like it anywhere in the world. I do wish you could hear it in English but I’m sure you’ll get the point of the tale. Looking forward to day 2 there!

      HI Ray - I followed TDS's construction in the early days of the net from groundbreaking to opening (I remember the day the water was turned on to start filling the park and the specific funny warnings given to workers). I first visited TDS six weeks after opening and have visited from Australia six times all up. I call it a Wonder of the Modern World and it is the only park I could happily pay admission and not ride an attraction and still feel like I got my money's worth.

      @@tulinfirenze1990 I LOVE that! I worked on it for about 5 years in the states before everything got shipped over but was performing at Wizards in Ikspiari and got to visit the installation team during construction. I’ve had many projects over there since then and agree with you in every way~

    • @raypierce5818
      @raypierce5818 8 місяців тому +2

      @@LeftCoastDrones lol … I’m speaking from some experience as I’ve worked on both! We all have differing opinions which is fine as I respect your’s. Let me first just say that I’ve LOVED Fantasmic since it opened lo those many decades ago. I made many trips to the park JUST to see that show and it was a thrill when I finally got to work on it for several redesign challanges. On the other hand, even with the updates and reprogramming which was great, It’s hard to compare to Believe for the sheer spectacle of it. If you’ve seen it live, I hope you speak Japanese well enough to understand the story well as that is such a beautiful part of the heart of the show. Without that, it’s just bells and whistles. If you’ve only seen it online, it’s impossible to understand the magnitude of it as anyone that has been there in person will say.

    THE video and vlogging experience I wanted to see. The editing was on point to bring us along as we discovered this wonderful park. Pointed commentary about how there is something to see in every inch of the place made this super exciting, like the first time energy is so real. Letting us see those emotions, hearing it in your voice humanized this beyond just a travel vlog. This was a dream come true. And we knew it was important. It was a true sense of wonder made incarnate. The video had everything we needed to know what it was to visit this park, from rides to food to the atmosphere. One of your best, as it had this real genuine story that was moving.
    Everyone needs to know and experience this park by the looks of it. It's just amazing looking with cool rides and uniquely Japanese style. I am so happy for you to have made it there.
    I am very jelly of those prices tho, lol. It almost looks like it'd be cheaper to go to Japan for this than Disney World.

    • @ThemeParkObsessionDD
      @ThemeParkObsessionDD  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you so much for those amazing words. It’s comments like this that inspire me to keep improving and keep going. And it’s comments like this that let me know that there are others that share the same joy when it comes to the theme park industry.
      Thanks for that!
      And yeah the food prices and everything were great. Honestly if you stay off property like we did and just take the train, you can save hundreds. Plus the food, drinks and merch are all cheap so besides the plane ticket everything else is super affordable. Park tickets for the 4 days were a little over $200 so that should give ya an idea.

    I know this might seem like a wierd take because I don't make a profit from it, but I'm actually really happy that the Yen is weaker right now because it gives people a chance to see so much in Japan. I mean imported goods are mad expensive for me, but I love living vicariously through the travel vlogs of foreigners if that make any sense at all.
    Also Sinbad ride best ride, best song, please OLC never change this ride to some popular Disney movie. It is a beautiful adventure from my childhood that I want to be able to relive every few years that I can save up money to go to Tokyo!

    Fun fact: The Disneysea version of Indiana Jones uses electric actuators for the ride vehicles, unlike the hydraulic actuators on the Disneyland version. As a result, the Disneysea version actually has less downtime, because it is easier to maintain and less serious if something breaks.

    This only proves that Japan values its people and their money by creating and producing an attraction that is far more superior than the ones in the United States. It only proves how much the Disney Corp. the man running at appreciates its customer and the hard work it takes a family to save money to come to any Disneypark.

    As someone living in the US it's so annoying how cheap Disney parks are elsewhere in the world, I mean I get it Disney doesn't directly influence pricing in Asian parks they're simply hired as a "consultant" effectively, but man Tokyo Disney is dirt cheap compared to the US, even the hotels are affordable. Where as in the US I feel like Disney parks are used to prop up all the other Disney ventures, like Disney+ or the movie aspect that keeps squirting out stinkers, I even recall way back when hearing an excuse for raising the cost of US parks was because they had to pay for Euro Disney... SMH.

      Guardians is a great ride for sure. 😁

      We stayed off property and I briefly covered that in my travel vlog to Tokyo. We booked it through Booking.com and got a really good deal.
      Booking, Expedia or Google will be the best when looking off site from Disney.

    I love Disneysea. Ive been twice. Disneysea is the best THEMED Disney park. But sorry, their rides aren't that great. Paris's Tower of Terror is better. They don't have a life sized Millenium Falcon or Rise of the Resistance. It's a great park, but if rides matter to you, Disneyland Anaheim is still King.

    • @1ronEntertainment
      @1ronEntertainment 7 місяців тому +1

      I think disneysea has better rides. Most of the stuff at Anaheim is either 50 years old or kinda low budget

    • @LeftCoastDrones
      @LeftCoastDrones 7 місяців тому

      @@1ronEntertainment Disneysea doesnt have Rise of the Resistance which is the absolute best ride in all of the Disney parks. Disneysea also doesnt have Mickey and Minnie's runaway railway. Disneyland Anaheim has the best Space Mountain and yes I've been to Paris. The loop and corkscrew are great, but it's too short overall. The only rides at DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland that I wish Anaheim had are Sinbad, Aquatopia and of course Beauty and the Beast. Other than that, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout has way better drops than Tokyo's Tower of Terror. Radiator Springs Racers is way better than Journey to the Center of the Earth.

      @@LeftCoastDrones ur comparing 2 parks to 1. Disney sea should either be compared to DL or DCA. Not both, Tokyo Disneyland should honestly be compared to DLA, and they are getting a new tomorrowland with a bunch of new rides. Anyways. Journey to the center of the earth is better than rise (honestly it’s overrated), and the theming of Disneyland is lackluster in half the park ( Tomorrowland, fantasyland, etc). Disneysea is just so much cooler

    So, because this is DisneySEA, the areas of the park are not “lands” but “ports”. Each area is supposed to be a different sea port.

    OLC is willing to spend the money to get the first-rate results. DisneySea even recreated a mock version of the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Ca, which is where the park would have been originally if the DisCo's budget & the LA/American consumer could have supported it. The details in the Tokyo park make you go, "how the heck did they do that?!," whereas the details (or lack of such) at Disney's other park from 2001 makes you go, "why the heck did they do that?!" If Walt Disney were alive, he'd be amazed by DisneySea. Then he'd look at the park built across from his park of 1955 and go, "uh, er, uh, well, hmm."
    As for the Japanese consumer, their personal lifestyle is more modest than the American one---eg, smaller houses, no dryers, no ovens; adult women living with parents, etc. So they're more willing to shell out for a great theme park.

      @@ThemeParkObsessionDD OLC knew they needed a second park on par or better than the first park next door. Disney thought anything with the Disney name would be a hit. They ended up paying more to fix DCA that still isn’t on par with the TDS.
