How might the self-simulation hypothesis interpretation of quantum mechanics impact your life personally? For some, the answer is more flow and optimism. But why?
The mathematics and experiments of quantum mechanics strongly imply that thoughts associated with observations change physicality in both directions of time. But those changed quantum probabilities still live within the set of possible world-line evolutions that conserve momentum and spin angular momentum. This is a fancy way of saying states of thought are generalized interactions or observations of reality that steer the evolution of reality to equally energy efficient - equally probable quantum world lines - as the evolutions of reality that would have occurred if you did not have the thought or observation.
Put differently, what you worry about or are optimistic about can tilt the quantum probabilities for one world line, similar to the many world’s interpretation of QM, to occur vs another. Being optimistic or pessimistic in this physics worldview becomes profoundly causal in determining the probabilities of what actually does occur. But all such probabilities are highest along the many worlds that are energetically efficient. To be energetically efficient as a thinking animal, such as a human, is to be in thermodynamically efficient “flow”, from the particles in your brain governing your thoughts to how you process calories and even how you interact with people and things around you. This model puts more power of agency into the hands of observes but also implies that all observers in the self-simulation should seek to be in energetic, thermodynamic, flow within their own body-mind system and the systems of objects and beings around them and where being pessimistic or optimistic about the outcomes you envision tilts the quantum probabilities in the direction of your anticipated expectation of what will occur in the future.
Are we in a simulation?
This multi-part series is about the nature of reality. One philosophy to consider is materialism, which is the guess that reality is not made of information at its core but is made of material or matter. The digital physics revolution is the increasingly popular belief among physicists that materialism is a false philosophy and that reality is literally made of information vs being conveniently described by it.
If reality is made of information, two candidates for what its substrate would be include: (1) An emergent universal computer. Or (2) an emergent universal mind. Either one could serve as the substrate to hold and process information.
The series starts with an emphasis on the instability of human civilization in the 21st century and how quickly old scientific and cultural belief systems are changing. It ends with the provocative suggestion that a clearer scientific picture of what reality is could shift humanity off course from its current high potential for apocalypse. Specifically, if the truer picture turns out to be a status quo rejection of the ancient philosophy of materialism, the implication is that it would change how humanity evolves and interacts on this planet going forward.

This is easily the most resonant, for me, theory and explanation of reality that I've heard in almost 50 years. Science + intuition + flow + harmony... The equation is subtle but somehow, if we allow it, we know this to be correct. Know it on a deep, non-verbal level I mean, because it's beyond words. Despite that, this video does an amazing job to put it into words so that we can relate to it and hopefully, absorb it, before it's too late for this reality's survival.

@@ossiedunstan4419, His most technical teachings are Higher/Abhi realities/dhamma teachings. Those teachings explain the process of the four ultimate realities called Matter (28), Emotions (52), Mind, and Ceasing/Nibbana.

I just want to leave a comment of deep appreciation for you guys. Y’all are amazing and the work y’all do is truly astonishing. Ever since an early age I’ve questioned my religious upbringing and my interests in science, philosophy and psychology greatly increased. I always thought If anyone knows what they are talking about it’s people like you guys who are extremely intellectually gifted to understand and grasp such concepts, so ignore any comments of these ignorant narcissistically biased people who think they know better than y’all. The future of humanity may well lie in y’all’s hands and although there is many things we have no control of like all the top heads of the world who are destroying the environment ever increasingly we do have control of choosing to keep and open mind and learn and listen to truly intelligent people like y’all. so continue on doing what y’all do. You guys inspire so many people and one of my goals in this lifetime is to someday hopefully start an academic pursuit in science. I’m 18 so there is definitely young people who stand for what y’all stand for. Keep doing what y’all do for us younger generations to follow in those footsteps, there is still good in humanity left and even if we have no free will and everything is already written out I believe you can still choose to understand and interpret the information provided by this simulation and make what you want of it, and bring into reality the great needed change this world needs. This comment is probably BS, but my intuition is that consciousness and reality are an anthropic feedback loop. The only awareness that is possible is of a reality that is consistent with the existence of our consciousness, and the only consciousness is that which is consistent with such a reality. They mutually create each other anthropically.

@@iroulis I'm not convinced that psychedelics change consciousness enough to have a significant effect on reality, but it's an interesting suggestion.
But maybe they can change consciousness enough to facilitate communication with beings whose consciousness is already very different from ours. Different enough that their reality and ours are totally separate and usually don't interact.

I would highly recommend the scientists involve in this to go through some of Hindu scriptures related to concept of "Maya" Which basically is similar to "world of simulation" that we are living in. And there are many things related to consciousness discussed. And for good of us ancient Hinduism is not a religion which will say u should not ask any questions but will encourage one to ask more questions and seek answers for them. Which basically is what we are doing here.

Instructive and daring presentation. There is a bigger picture though, involving spirituality, that has to be taken into account ... and would help distinguishing between classical vs. quantum information, with probabilities due to the transition ("Master-Slave Duality).

This universe is within a black hole, this black hole is in another Universe, and this universe is also in another black hole which is also in another Universe. There is no end to the amount of black holes and Universes, and you can not escape reality. Reality is a never ending cycle of Universes and dimensions.

These all sounds so hopeful and finally, spirituality and science are merged here. Although there are many questions and things that are not so clear (at least to me), but there is no reason why self-simulation theory cannot be true, especially if it provides a bit better explanation to what we know about our universe so far. So interesting and hope great minds like yours can spread and explain it to most of us.

Butterflies dance in the light between the trees, the garden is full of a symphony of flowers and colors, the grass is soft, lush and green with plenty of fresh daisies, "hey what are those cute little things growing over there ?, they are not green. They look like little umbrellas ? You start to notice cute little rainbow colored dew drops in the grass next to the waterfall and as the sun shines through the dew drops the colors of the dew drops change and you can see all the various colors of the rainbow, and it starts to feel as though the colors of light in the dew drops are trying to talk to you or communicate to you in some way. life is a beautiful mystery. If intuition is a non-local feedback loop from the future, what could it have to do with anxiety? For example, could anxiety emerge from the dissonance between intuition and logic?
Okay, imagine this...
a lifeform exists in a higher dimensional plane (4D onwards), They cannot exist in a 3D environment, the same way as we can't exist in a 2D world.
So they create a simulation of what a 3D existence would be like, the same way as we make 2D games.

This seems along the lines of Rupert Sheldrake’s research of morphic resonance with a quantum mechanics approach.
Consciousness is the ability to give meaning to latent information and so transform this latent information into reality, I think.
How can a practical response be applied to all this plenty of academic explanation and demonstration of the natural world
The many worlds hypotheses (the idea that multiple parallel universes exist) may one day proven because the tendency of everything in our perceivable reality is to to grow and to expand, and so of course at some point it would want to expand into multiple parallel universes.
Consciousness and observation are half the question, what about the sub-conscious and emotions, intuition etc?

I think intuition is more of a knowlege you understood before entering this world its more of a "un-common" sense like how people say "common sense" like no one needs to explain because "you should already know" as intuition as un-common sense " you just know, or have a gut feeling" because you do "already know"

Who gets to observe? is it "Me" or 'You" or everyone? If it is a simulation then only "me" would be responsible for the world I live in and everyone else is an NPC? I mean, we don't all get to "Observe" stuff into existence, do we? (I guess I'm basing this on Copenhagen's theory?) Also, does this explain the 'manifest' life people "want?" The thing we focus on and somehow that "life" manifests in the experience we desire or by default receive? Hard to wrap my head around this...

Are atoms and molecules aware they are, or may be atoms, molecules and/or part of something much bigger?... or smaller... or just almost exactly what they are... or all of beforehand.
If you went to the next galaxy , just .00001% of the universes distance away, and looked at earth, from a large enough viewpoint, we would effectively appear as subatomic particles. But our aperture isn’t that large so we see things differently. We are tiny particles in a vast universe.

If it is a simulation then you can do whatever you want, there are no consequences. It's just a sim, it can be reset to whatever time they want. Also, there's no way you can fail. When you die, your experience will be collected and placed into some database. Downside is... finding out how to win, which is not that obvious.
Perhaps but it is more like a simulated training program, sort of like a flight simulator where what you do, does have consequences to your overall learning.

Yes there is. You see it everyday when you do a negative, the consequences is negative to your soul, heart, mind. That is how a good person can turn into a fearful, heartless cold person. The consequences of slapping someone for no reason could be a brutal revenge. The consequences of positive help could be a life long friendship. So there are consequences.

I found a source of non-local intuition from the future. In a book I will be publishing this year that actually has nothing to do with physics and everything to doing with healing the mind and body, I discovered a higher level of conscious awareness I called the higher conscious mind. For me, it is that non-local future intuition speaking to me. I I'm very spiritual and I've had many visions of the future that had turned out correctly in person I didn't cash in on him because I didn't even believe myself. But I believe there is a non-local future intuition we can tap into its called spirituality and some people call it God.
Correction, isn't the mind all about quantum mechanics? Is not quantum mechanics simply the brain's ability to process program perceived Etc information?
Perhaps what you're saying though is absolutely true for me as far as tapping into a non-local intuition from the future, because my book is about healing from childhood trauma and I had to basically relive my childhood and see my parents in a new light to heal.

I think time as we experience it doesn't exist in a higher dimension.However they can't go back in time to alter events.
This life knows our purpose as individuals and interfere to make us achieve this purpose
