@@jglg7238 it will work anyway you choose. With one foot, one arm but. If u want to lift as much as your body able, than squat jerk is bad idea. Sometimes it's enough to lift more than others can. But that means, that other athletes weaker. Squat jerk requires enormous effort to keep balance, it requires more than perfect technique. And for what? At that phase it's not a question will you stand up if catch a bar. 99% you will. And with squat jerk, it's not 99% sure you can catch the balance. They started very long time ago. When it was, probably politically important to have different approach, and be the best with it. And they still have those coaches. But about 5-10 years ago everything has changed for those who don't afraid to use modern tools to learn, to improve. With so many slow mo shots, environment, proven methods no more secrets left. And in the end, in jerk everything comes to one thing, solid balance position. And with squat jerk it is so hard to achieve. Because bar has frontal range of motion, and squat jerk has no support in this dimension. So, for Lu the problem not that squat jerk works better, they just don't train split jerk, so when you try, of course it's unusual and uncomfortable to give everything you have. But believe me, or u will witness yourself, next generation of Chinese will switch to split jerk

He's got one of the best looking squats I've ever seen. It's such a shame that his upper body can't match his crazy leg strength.
