Your work is nice and entertaining, loved the 80's sitcom bit! Can you expand your comments on other expenses such as medical needs, insurance needs, charities, and any other type of emergency expenses? Also, while understand this video is dedicated to financial concerns, could you make more videos related to other concerns such as access to medical facilities, Ecuadorian culture that should concern Americans, other considerations that should be as important (if not more) than finances before expatriating to Ecuador? once again, thanks for your production, it was educating, entertaining, and well-worth watching.

Ecuador is a lot cheaper. I only spent about a week in Costa Rica, so I don't know it that well but it was beautiful. I loved it. Bigger mountains in Ecuador, which comes with cooler temps, altitude problems, and better views I guess. Costa Rica is more American, I think. More setup for tourists, more expats living there.
Great info, thanks! How does Sara like teaching there? My wife's in education and I'm starting to research international schools in Ecuador, and a few other locations for her.

Thanks for the great videos. I’d love to visit and or live in Ecuador. However I am paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Are the buses wheelchair accessible? I’m from the US and of course here they are. What are your thoughts of a person in a wheelchair vacationing or living in Ecuador?
I don't think they are. A lot of hills in Ecuador. Honestly, I couldn't imagine living there in a wheelchair, but it's hard for me to comprehend in general.
It’s smart because if he forgets to say something and has to dub it in later, he can without us noticing. And less decisions to make when filming, because it’s already stressful enough.
Just spent about 2 weeks in Ecuador (wife was born & raised there..but hasn’t lived there since she was 18.) spent most of the time around Guayaquil (Samborondon & via a la Costa / Puerto Azul). Drove to Cuenca and spent a couple of days and did a two-day road trip to Salinas and Olson/Montanita. Not sure how traffic is in Quito, but in Guayaquil the traffic is crazy, drivers are crazier, those on motos/ mopeds, weave in and out of traffic, cut off cars & buses (well everyone cuts everyone else off for that matter), ride in the middle of the lane at 30-40 km/hr.
How much is healthcare/insurance? Looking at possible partial retirement am 59. To expensive here in the US Healthcare although great quality if you can afford it. Thanks again for the video! Ed
Private health insurance can cost as low as $60 a month. If you get on the public one it's 17.6% of your income, but it covers eye, dental, meds, pretty much everything and with no co-payment.
I don't think so. I just don't have the time, and I don't think it would be worth it. It might drive some traffic to my channel, but you can't really make money off of tiktok like you can UA-cam.

Great video. It shows your enjoying the country. Hope to retire next year. Couple of quick questions. The $792.33 monthly would be per person ? The $790 for travel would be for the year per person ? You feel safe driving the motorcycle. Would love to get one but people tell me driving down there is crazy. Enjoy your videos
That's right. 792 a month per person, plus 790 per person for all the travel in the year. I feel pretty comfortable on the motorcycle. I would never call the driving crazy, but I lived in Vietnam. I've seen the aftermath of maybe 5 accidents here, mainly on roads that have lots of turns going down a mountain. That being said, it's probably at least twice as dangerous as the driving I've done in Canada.
Thanks, I am also frugal. So I could lead a very nice life just on my Social Security of $2 86. That means I should not have to dip into my investments/savings. Thanks again.
