Make sure you check out my video that talks about all the GOOD things Oshawa has to offer! Watch it right here: Top 3 Reasons to Move to Oshawa! ua-cam.com/video/2Bqetbs1PJM/v-deo.html
We use to live in Scarborough Lawrence/Brimley area then in the McCowan/McNicoll area; at both locations our house and cars were broken into. We moved to Ajax, Picking Village area, no break-ins but a teen was murdered on a residential lawn the next street over from ours. For the last 6 years we have lived in Oshawa, Taunton/Grandview area the only thing that's happened so far is a raccoon getting into our green bin. Oshawa like most places in the GTA has areas to avoid, but for the most part it's a nice place to live.
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I was also raised in Scarborough before moving to the Durham region. It’s so hard when something so tragic and awful happens so close to home, like what happened close to your home in Ajax. Ajax is known to be a mostly safe place to live, but crime really can happen anywhere. We’ve overall felt very safe living and raising our family here in Oshawa. There are neighborhoods I too would stay away from purchasing in. But we’ve also been lucky to not have to deal with any real issues when it comes to crime. Those raccoons are cute but can definitely be a nuisance 😅
Thanks for watching! And I agree, Oshawa as a city has a lot to offer! You can watch my video about my favourite things about Oshawa next 😊 ua-cam.com/video/2Bqetbs1PJM/v-deo.htmlsi=14XXEA87cnnpe8HK
Totally agree! Here’s my video about all the reasons we’ve loved living in Oshawa 😊 Top 3 Reasons To Move To OSHAWA, Ontario ua-cam.com/video/2Bqetbs1PJM/v-deo.html
Oshawa does have a stigma attached to it and rightfully so however it's outdated and silly in 2023. Oshawa, like any city has good areas and bad areas. That's the reality of living in a city. Overall the good outweighs the bad and anyone who says differently either only knows Oshawa from the bad stereotypes or doesnt actually live anywhere near it. I'm happy here, my family and friends are happy here, whats not to love?!
Thanks for watching and commenting! I agree, most people that have a negative view of oshawa overall probably don’t live here, or are basing it on one small area. There are a few things I think the city can work on… But we’ve lived in Oshawa for many years and have loved it. I actually made a video about all the reasons my family has loved living here if you want to check that out: Top 3 Reasons To Move To OSHAWA, Ontario ua-cam.com/video/2Bqetbs1PJM/v-deo.html
We do. We haven't had any issues and we've found that the DRSB (Durham Regional School Board) is great here. That being said, this is my family/kids experience which is overwhelmingly positive. No matter where you live, there will be negatives with anything. Thinking of moving here with kids? Highly recommend. @@shenelleairey2468
Great video thanks a lot, could you please tell me if their any plenty of partime jobs available or not because i would like to come and join the durham college in oshawa .
Thanks for watching! I have noticed lots of places hiring part time- my nephew was able to get a job within a couple of weeks so I doubt you’d have a problem!
My house was broken into and my kids play station, video games, i-pad and my medication was stolen. Another time l met my son at the Oshawa center for dinner and his 800 dollar mountain bike was stolen. They cut his lock off and took it from in front of the food court entrance at the bike rake. I asked the oshawa center security for the video of the area in the time frame and they said the camera didn't work. Nothing came of it after the police report was made. Downtown is a crackhead haven with homeless people everywhere.
I’m so sorry that happened to your family-that’s a lot for one family to go through. There is crime happening in Oshawa, that’s for sure. I hope you found a neighborhood that you can feel safer in.
Horrible video, far from the truth, full of negativity. As a marketing gig, you start with negativity. You are destroying your sales career. Horribly Horribly
Interesting! Did you actually watch the video? I give honest insights about the reasons people think Oshawa might not be a good place to live and reasons why those stigmas are likely not to affect them. I’ve made many videos about why I’ve loved living in Oshawa for about 14 years, and all the good things that come with living here. Check them out!

I have good memories living and working in Oshawa . I still faithfully own a 2005 Chevy blazer . Sad changes over the decades .

So it's a lower class of a cesspool like GTA
Nothing wrong with Oshawa. South Oshawa isn't as bad as folks suggest either. Hard working folks and families, good community.
