Usually I'm not scared of single cylinder 500cc on a scooter. The engine are rubber mounted on scooter and you don't really feel any vibrations. I've ridden the maxsym 600 that has a 600cc single cylinder and it's as smooth as silk.

@@RideWithAlex Unless you are tall guy, because then eg. ADV 350 kicks Forza 350 to the ground regarding riding comfort. A lot of those "maxi" touring/GT scooters are simply cramped (yeah, looking at you Yamaha Xmax clowns :-D)

Zontes doesn't collaborate with anyone for these scooters, they are self made. This unit was a 500cc prototype presented at the 2023 EICMA show. The 500cc project is currently on hold and they came out with the 368 engine for their scooter lineup. They are currently on sale in China and will probably make their way to Europe next year. For the 500cc variants I have no clue when and if we'll see them.
First scooter I see with spoked wheels, are there any other ? And also crash bars, I thought it was an optical illusion in the first images 😅. Unfortunately, all the offroad goodies (spokes, footpegs, upside down fork, crash bars) are wasted on a machine with a 500cc lump stuck to the swingarm - that will completely ruin offroad handling. If there was a frame mounted engine coupled with a CVT transmission and belt final drive + monoshock suspension on the rear, this would have been a dream machine. I've seen this over and over again with chinese design : they get some details very well thought out, while others seem to come from another (not so competent) design team.
Xadv 750 has rider foot pegs probably you dont consider it as a scooter i guess, more like a motorcycle. However, i think the peugeot scooter with the monoshok rear suspension is better ADV if we dont include Xadv from Honda.

More like a bigger version of the xmax with a single cylinder and standard scooter drive. Looks really nice but these prototypes for trade shows are always the best looking.

150 cc scooters suck. They can barely do 60mph and they use smaller wheels. The yamaha xmax is 300 cc and capable of 80 mph, a single cylinder with a standard scooter drive system. This 500 offers a little more of everything, too bad there aren't any zontes dealers in the states.
I've ridden 600cc single cylinder scooters and they work just fine with no harsh vibrations so it's fine (on scooters the twin cylinder engines are 360 degrees twins so the pistons move together up and down they have the same vibrations as a single) and the screen I thought it was ok, how big do you want it?

Big difference from xadv. This runs a standard scooter belt drive, not even a xmax clone and the xadv uses a dct for a transmission. Otherwise, this scooter has a lot of good features.

it does look like a simple suspension on the back but the shocks are adjustable and look high end. I have to test it before I can pass judgment.
