The lengths the two will go for each other, is not what you see between friends. It's what you'd see a lover do for the one they feel romantic feelings for. Raiden Mei, to save Kiana's life, she not only sacrificed herself more than once by taking gambles against fate, risking killing herself by her own power to stop Raven from going to try to kill Kiana, and risking going out of control by her Herrscher persona once again to eliminate the Gem of Conquest in Kiana's body to stabilize her Honkai energy levels, but she also sided with evil as the price to pay to save Kiana. Plus, Raiden Mei literally says to Kiana "a world without you, means nothing to me!", that's something only someone with a super close bond of romance would say to the one she loves. Anyone who doubts the romance between Kiana and Raiden Mei, needs to play through this chapter and notice the hints of their relationship of love for each other sprinkled in this chapter
I agree that they are lovers. But i completly disagree with "the lenghts they will go for each other, is not what you see bettwen friends" i would die for my best friend and he would do the same for me (we already talkek about it before) true friendship is also as strong as that
It always struck me how Mei was the last of the main trio to grow up. She stayed holding onto the past, refusing to accept that things have changed, wanting Kiana to come home as if nothing had happened. Eventually she couldn't deny it much longer, and in turn accepting the reality was all the more painful that she became cold and somewhat bitter. It didn't help that Kiana wasn't exactly emotionally stable upon their reunion either.
