I am so glad I found your channel! What I love about it is that you don’t make it too much about you. (not that I don’t like you XD) You make a perfect balance of showing the world around you and you-Something other travel UA-camrs don’t seem to do, a lot of others always seem to make the videos all about them.

@@Snowball_Maltese on the other hand there are those travel youtube channels that dont show the content creator at all. Anna Productions is amazing for that for traveling in Japan to various places and Amazing Places On Our Planet as well. Nice footage with music. Scenic Relaxation also makes great videos from around the world with great music without showing the content creator. Scenic Relaxation mostly or always uses drone footage in the videos

    Hi Gaby
I love how passionate you are about ancient history and history in general. I feel your excitement when you see magnificent ruins and admire your courage to explore them on your own. When you said Italy continues to amaze I thought to myself that you still need to visit San Giminiano in Tuscany it’s close to Sienna and dates back to the year 900 it’s a must to see it. As well as Luca near by in Tuscany too. and Ancona in the Adriatic Sea. And let’s stop here for now. Italy has heaps to offer and thanks to you I’ve discovered Matera as I never heard of it before and I practically travelled all around Italy but never heard of Matera. Looking forward to your next video which I think it will be Calabria maybe ?

Hey Gabriel, wow what a beautiful city that must have been when it was all still standing. It must have been built in the middle ages because it appears to be very easily defended. The back where you walked and the two sides were to step to attack and the front was long enough that you could see the enemy come for miles. A great defense indeed.

There are no words. Mind-blowing to say the least. One has to wonder why? Why did 'that' one place be chosen for the earthquake to settle on destroying, there are so many other lands in the same geographical area? I wonder what their food source was, other than herds and chickens, etc. The land around the city did not appear to be very fertile for crops, etc. What would have been their water source? Fascinating. I've missed you, Gabe ❤

  • @Wen1515

What’s remarkable about Craco is that the newer buildings, which were built on the side of the “golden mountain” were the buildings totally destroyed by the landslides, which were largely related to the installation of new plumbing systems. The older, many medieval, buildings that were built on the sturdier mountain ridge were largely spared, but eventually became inhabitable due to earthquakes in the 1980s.

Thanks for showing us the another unique history on that region but I think there local government along with archaeological surveyors should take care for maintenance and preserve this old site because those ruins are falling apart or else couldn't being able to survive or stand enough may be in next unexpected disaster.

hi Gabriel, It definitely looks like something out of an Edgar Allen Poe book or movie these structures must have been there for a very long time and during the last 50 to 60 years have started to crumble. This is a problem with older structures that need to be checked so can work on rebuilding areas of engineering structural damage to maintain them.
