Well its time for humans to redefine intelligence, because majority of animals is clearly showing signs of it. This has nothing to do with instincts like we assume for 100 of years. We need to give animals the credit that they clearly are not instictive and all use a brain.

I have a pet seagull. You would be surprised how smart they are, and how they can learn new stuff.
@youtuber9777 he's got a cool personality believe it or not, he keeps all the other seagulls away. Solved the problem of trash bags ripped open in the street, and no more aggressive couples during breeding time, some of them used to fly above and aim the seagull custom paint at people and laundry. Takes care of his GF and kids properly. Free alarm clock in the morning as I taught him to gently tap at the window at 7am, instead of making a racket at sun rise. The GF is also cool but extremely shy.

Yes ! One day while I was sitting at one of the cement benches in San Diego Bay , there were a group of seagulls watching me and the group i was in we went about our business , but I just couldn’t help but notice this big seagull just moving from left to right and cawing to a large group not 10 feet from him , they did not move . I mentioned it to one of the guys that were with our group . He explained , “ The seagull standing in watch is the lead gull and of course waiting for us to leave so they can snack on our left overs “ Those gulls were like cunning . I asked everyone there if they would please leave something on both tables when we left , they did just that and wow ! The lead jumped up first walk around checking things out , then on command there was this white blanket of gulls everywhere . It was almost like a dance happening . They cleaned up after us . And that is amazing and beautiful to watch . But !! Guard your food😂😂 , because they are NATURAL BORN THIEVES , lol 😆.

I wish I was actually there to have witnessed for myself the entire event while it was happening in real time. And if I only knew you personally, it would have been nice if you took an actual video footage of this event & shared it through your social media platform. I say this because, after reading your story, I found it to be absolutely fascinating & very intriguing, just like this brief video that I repeatedly watched because it's so hilarious! I was so wrapped up in our group talking and that seagull just broke my concentration . Mind you it was toward just the end of our outing and I just didn’t think of it . I’m so glad you liked this memory I hold as a fun and learning experience .

But I'm happy for you that you have a memory of something so fascinating & that you experienced something new. I, too, learnt something new just from your story. I now know that seagulls have a designated leader that the group follows when it comes to food planning, especially when there's a group of humans within their close proximity.
