- The 103-year-old Carmelite monastery in North Buffalo is officially for sale, after all 14 of the Carmelite nuns at the Monastery of the Little Flower of Jesus relocated to Florida.
This will be missed. The North Buffalo community was fortunate have such a peaceful place.
The first Carmelite monastery in Seattle was vacated late 1960s for a new monastery. The building is now a homeless shelter for women. The larger rooms are classrooms for vocational training.
A school perhaps. Maybe an extension of one of the large universities like Cornell, located elsewhere in the state. Or an affiliate secondary boarding school.
