Plus some in many reviews people stated, that there is almost no difference in audio quality,so Im very glad that you value it highly too! Keep up the great work!

How can one connect SMic 2s with a USB C Phone in simplest way possible, I know Smic 2 needs a Phantom 48V power & some gain thru a audio recorder, which if we record on a Camera can be made possible, but if someone wants to do a LIVE INSTAGRAM session from Mobile with this Mic 2s, Can you suggest a solution please?
Hey! I want to record videos of everyday activities, no voice, just sounds of cooking, typing, etc. I'm thinking of buying the D4 Mini (very similar to the Duo) or the D3. The price difference is only $10 at the moment. Do you think the D3 captures better than the D4 at a greater distance? Also, is it possible to use any of these microphones on a computer?
One written review of the Pro version I saw, said after it's been in standby mode for 15 minutes, it will turn itself off completely and you have to physically turn the mic back on to start using it again. Is that true? Doesn't seem right
What were the dead cats you can use to replace the dirty ones in the D4 duo? From what I’ve seen, this is the downfall on the duo and it suffers a lot of wind noise because of it.
Came to see your comparison, and Spice Girls took me by surprise... I have a D3 and I’m in love with it, but was planning to get a D3 Pro to be used on a boom pole for a protect. Do you think is worth or I just stick to the D3 and mount it on the boom pole...
Let me ask you.. Would there be a reason to buy the D3 PRO instead of the D3 if I own a zoom h1n audio recorder? I mean that this recorder has all the additional features that the pro version has to offer. Low cut, Gain control, Limiter etc. So if you have a Zoom h1n there's no reason paying more money buying the d3 pro and i should get the d3 right?
I acutally listened only when there was some silence in between the Spice girls lyrics =), I thought the d3 had the lowest self nosie when silent so Ill buy the d3, thank you.
Everything sounds the same to me, but I'm not an audiophile so that's probably why. But I did pre order the d4 duo. I think this will be perfect for my vlogging cause I'm behind the camera 90% of the time. This is gonna be an awesome perfect mic!!
Do you think the D3 Pro Location Kit is a good starter setup for using with a XLR recorder or would spending extra for the S MiC 2/2s be the better decision?
Hi, I have the chance to buy the D3 (non-pro) or the D4 Duo where I am for around the same price... Which would you choose for the best quality of the 2? Just for making videos made inside (maybe a bit of vlogging)
Thank you for any beneficial sharing. I think the S Mic2s is the best for indoors: small diaphragm, supercardioid ... The D3 (short one) is a bit like a relatively discreet master key. The D3 Pro could be more useful when a camera with weak amps is used, or outdoors especially for rejecting noise and I think that in an open natural environment it can pick up sound a bit further away. Perhaps in the latter case, the S Mic 2 (not the short one) will sound better since it is an XLR mic. The Duo is useful when there is an Interview in a "controlled" space (without being far from the camera/mic) and when the voice of the producer / cameraman should be recorded too. Lavs are more practical to be able to move freely or even to reject noise while giving a little more presence, but I don't find them natural enough. In the end, I think that Deity offers more and more diversified products whose quality / price ratio is interesting. Perhaps it will also be good to see them offer other suitable products such as a Backpack ... which will primarily target Sound Designers who film a little and record the soundscapes (so they can put a camera with a lot of audio equipment and not the opposite). Bless you all
All the shotgun microphones sound great and almost identical in the studio, except the D4 Duo sounds a bit brighter both indoors and outdoors (maybe less of the warm sound frequencies or more of the high frequencies) . VMic D3 Pro I liked best, isolated the sound of your voice the best when outdoors.. When you switched to the Lav mics, I was disappointed in the quality, really less clear compared to the shotgun mics, sounds are very muffled especially the Connect Lav. The Lav Pro was definitely better of the two Lavs though. - Thanks for this review, it was really helpful.
Hey Dunna! We’re currently using Rode Video ic GO. Do you think the D3 would be a good upgrade to that? We use it mostly for vlogging at amusement parks.
Finally, a decent test that shows them all in the same environment, and even outdoors. I liked the sound of the S-Mic 2S, followed by the D3 Pro. I guess the choice here is use: Fixed studio: S-Mic 2S Camera mounted, running around: D3 Pro Small: I don't know, the lavs sound bad, maybe the D3, if it's a big enough difference in size from the other two? Or of you don't have the extra money, I guess it's a good choice.
