    Dahlia Hawthorne kills Maya during the Bridge to the Turnabout murder?

    • @nickolasobjectionlolstuff2837
      @nickolasobjectionlolstuff2837  2 місяці тому +3

      Correct! I'm kinda surprised it took this long to be figured out, honestly. Guess I made this more mysterious than I thought, lol.
      The story here is that Dahlia's plan in Bridge To The Turnabout succeeded, and she successfully killed Maya, leading to Mia and Maya meeting in the afterlife.
      Here's a breakdown of most of the hints. (Buckle up for a super long, very messy, and unnecessary essay)
      The title of the video, "Sweet Victory", is in reference to Dahlia (and I suppose you could throw Morgan in here too to an extent)'s victory. Her plan to kill Maya succeeded, that's her sweet victory.
      Mia is the big red flag here overall. The fact that she shows up at all despite being dead, and is clearly not being channeled by anyone, is very alarming. The way she keeps saying that Maya "can't be there", and refusing to accept that she's there, and freaking out. She knows that for Maya to be there, she has to be dead, but she's in denial. She refuses to believe that her little sister is dead, and the fact that Maya doesn't even know she's dead is making things far more complicated for Mia. Mia doesn't know how to break the news to her.
      When Mia is freaking out at the start about how Maya can't be there, Maya says "Hey, I could ask you the same question!". This is in reference to how Mia is dead, and is clearly not being channeled by anyone, so how is she there? This plays into Maya's assumption that it's all a dream.
      "Do... Do you not know?!" Here, Mia is asking if Maya doesn't know she's dead. She quickly realizes that, yes, Maya has no idea she's dead, and Mia doesn't know what to do or how to tell her.
      "I dream about you a lot, sis!" Beyond just being sad, this plays into why Maya assumes it's a dream. It shares a lot of qualities with real dreams that she has, such as getting to see her sister again. This will come up again later.
      "We all like, went to Ha-" Maya is referring to the events of Bridge To The Turnabout, where they all (Phoenix, Maya, Pearl) go to Hazakura Temple. Going there is the last thing she remembers, she doesn't remember her own death. I didn't think of any particular reason for Maya not remembering her own death, so come up with whatever you explanation you want. I just needed her to not remember for the story to work, so she didn't remember.
      "...And do you always know that your dreams are dreams?" Mia tries to push Maya towards the realization that it's not a dream several times throughout the video, but Maya never gets the hint. Maybe she's in even deeper denial than Mia is, or maybe she's just clueless. Interpret it however you want.
      "I got into lucid dreaming for awhile there...", and "I haven't had one in a long time though..." These are immediate indications that it's not actually a lucid dream. Maya says that all of her lucid dreaming experience is in the past. She has no reason to suddenly have one, the only reason she assumes so is because it's the only explanation that she can think of that makes any sense. How else would she be speaking to Mia? Why would she be in such a strange place? How would she be doing all of this and still be aware, unlike most dreams? Must be a lucid dream.
      Mia's expression shifts to sadness when Maya mentions returning to the "waking world", as she knows that Maya can't do that.
      "...I hope talking about all of this isn't gonna cause me to wake up." Again, another indication that it's not a dream. I've never personally lucid dreamed, but I know that typically if I figure out I'm dreaming and acknowledge that fact too much, I wake up. So the fact that Maya can do all of that and not wake up is a red flag.
      "Maya... You should want to wake up right now..." Maya falsely believes she is merely dreaming, and doesn't want to wake up from her dream. Mia knows that Maya is dead, and finds her desire to stay asleep disturbing, as she's effectively saying that she wants to stay dead, leading to Mia's comment, basically saying "You should be wanting to be revived right now..."
      "Oh come on! Why are you so down?!" Normally you'd assume Mia would be ecstatic to see her sister again... but she's sad because she knows the only way that she's seeing Maya there is because Maya is dead.
      "It's not your time yet, you can't- you- we- here- he-" It's not your time yet refers to her believing Maya's not supposed to die yet, that she's still too young and such. The more interesting part here that I didn't really expect anyone to figure out is the mention of "he". Again, this is something that was basically impossible to figure out in the video and wasn't important to figuring out what happened, so don't murder me for making an impossible hint or anything, lol. The "he" Mia is thinking of is Phoenix. She's thinking that Maya can't be dead, because Phoenix would never let anything happen to her. It's just an example of Mia being in denial about Maya's death.
      "(Rude... Not gonna let that ruin my dream, though!)" Maya falsely believes that Mia just doesn't want to see her or something. Certainly not helping her assumption that it's a dream, since people hating you for no reason is a common component of dreams.
      The whole sequence at the end is very telling. She can't manipulate her dream and bring in someone (Phoenix in this instance) like she could when she lucid dreamed... meaning she's not dreaming.
      As an end note, I'm aware this video breaks several aspects of Ace Attorney lore, as spirits channeled remember their deaths in game, time between channelings seems to be nonexistant meaning there should be no "afterlife" of sorts for Maya and Mia to meet in, etc. Consider this an AU or whatever you want, I just decided to overlook some details of the lore (that aren't that concrete anyways) for the sake of the story.
      Bonus: A very early concept for this had Phoenix as the one who died and spoke to Mia instead of Maya. I got like two or three lines into it in my head and the only line Phoenix got was just a confused "C-Chief?!" before I realized that he wasn't gonna work very well for the story I wanted to tell, so I used Maya instead. It being the two sisters makes the scene more impactful and emotional anyways.

    They were deleted, the music is a slowed down version of the Just Monika theme from DDLC, IM A GENIUS

    • @ThaCataBoi
      @ThaCataBoi 2 місяці тому

      Wait on rewatch this theory actually makes a lot of sense
      Maya is not supposed to be dead, Mia specifically mentions something along the lines of “this isn’t your time yet”, meaning she didn’t die in the way she was supposed to
      But she’s definitely dead, Mia is there and it’s obviously not actually a dream
      And Maya doesn’t remember anything, meaning she didn’t die in any long or traumatic way
      Plus DDLC-esque jokes have been put in ever since “Phoenix becomes self-aware”, and Phoenix is always the one who is the most self-aware so that’s canon to the Nickolas lore
      Perhaps Phoenix either went full Monika and deleted Maya for some reason, OR he used his code powers to transport Maya to the afterlife to see Mia again
      Why he’d want to do either of these, I don’t know, but it makes a lot of sense in my opinion
      And again, the Just Monika theme really puts the idea of DDLC into my brain for this video
      Or perhaps I’m just a lunatic, who really knows?

    It's kind of interesting to see how Maya thinks she's in a dream... I think that's enough for the second part, because I find it a bit striking, especially since there seems to be no context behind this...

      There are a lot of clues and hints as to what the story here is, but they are a bit obscure. You have to really do some thinking for this one. Of course, I'll come clean once somebody figures out the story here.

    This is pretty strange .
    Maya feels this is a lucid dream yet mia clearly does not think so . The theory of a lucid dream kind of falls as phoenix does not come (you can do anything in a lucid dream) . Maya says that this is happening during the incident at Hazakura temple , I feel that is quite important . This is not a dream but I do feel that this is the part where maya is channeling dahlia . She is not able to control the spirit and her own soul arrives at an intermediate level between living and dead , where she is interacting with mia . When she comes back during the trial , she utters her sister's name before collapsing . I feel this says that she was conversing with her sister before returning and this the moment where she channels dahlia .
    It is a theory , I don't know how close it is but I feel this is the best bet .

    I couldn't imagine that the first youtube video I watch for today will require some thinking.
    Well, my guess this is some Undertale stuff. I don't know anything about this game, but the anount of Sans in this channel make me feel this is possible. So, clues:
    1) Your own comment about this not being completely tied with Ace Attorney lore, so there's something more. First I thought about DDLC, but Maya DOES remember about going to Ha...zakura temple, I guess, so there's no deleting stuff. Maybe it's still DDLC stuff, but that's not the only reason I think of Undertale.
    2) On 1:43 Mia mentions "he". I doubt she meant Phoenix, so maybe this is star of this channel. Kinda.
    3) Name of the video. I did some googling and find out this is OST for fan-made Undertale game. Maybe it's a bit off, but I still leave it there.
    And lastly, one more thing: At 1:54 screen goes black and some part becomes unreadable. All I could read(with graphic editor) in the end was: "...or fight some bad guys, or stomp turt..." Last word was incoplete and hardly readable, so maybe I wrote it wrong.

    • @nickolasobjectionlolstuff2837
      @nickolasobjectionlolstuff2837  2 місяці тому

      It uses slowed down DDLC OST, but it's not related to DDLC. Or Undertale, for that matter.
      The title being the OST for an Undertale game is a complete coincidence, lol. The title DOES have meaning though...
