Great stuff. What a clever song! Another great song from this exceptional Christmas album. They are right to focus on Christ, and though so much junk has been added ro St. Nick that shouldn't have been, it's true this Bishop and early Church Father was a a wonderful servant and caregiver the his community. His gifts of coal were to keep families warm during the cold season and not "punishments", and giving gifts of gold and money was that meet their basic living needs. His care fir his community is exactly the mission of the church, care for the in need, share the hooe of Christ, and do good to others. That was the bishop's work but hus primary goal was always to point to Christ not himself. This song is important to be sure and you're right a call to remember the purpose if Christmas, the birth of the Messiah who would break the chains of sin in our lives and provide a way to eternal life and forgiveness if we will but believe upon him. I tell my kids about the truth. Christmas is about Christ and "Santa" was just a servant of King Jesus, lovingly doing what we all should be. Merry Christmas!!!
