Two things: 1) Ranged damage scales the power of the AoE spike attack for cacti club, that is what made the run powerful. 2) Range upgrades are powerful on melee weapons because it makes the weapon fly further with FULL piercing leading to more kills per attack. I have to mention this because people are doing some extremely incorrect backseating today and I dont want misinformation.

so with ricochet and piercing the piercing will take effect after the last possible bounce. so if you have one bounce it will bounce then that trajectory will have piercing also id like to see some sort of monstrosity build where you try to get dumb to have really high xp gain.
It doesn't need to be a debate but I thought it was the opposite. I had a run yesterday with the rocket launcher where I had both and it seemed like it would pierce, unless there was no target behind, and then bounce.
Electro mage: take mage, tazer and lightning shiv only (normal) Specialist: take one armed, early luck to obtain a endgame weapon as soon as possible, specialize as necessary (hard) Dumb luck challenge: take dumb, only take weapons, luck and items that drop (hard) Stoic challenge: take chunky, beat wave 12 without moving (very hard) Cheers!
I'd like to see a build go tanky and slow, like theme it like "the mountain" choose any character, and prioritize defense, HP, regen, and damage. Try your best to pick up items like "the statue" and "alien tongue" to embrace standing still lol. I'm uncertain of what weapons would actually do you good, as I tinker with it. I'll send you more refined ways of thinking for said build
Lucky Shot - Push for luck upgrades until wave 10 (or wave 8 if 10 is too late) - Play on the Dumb character - Focus on upgrading crit change and damage - Dodge > Armor - Life Steal > Regen - Optional bonus challenge: You can only buy items related to luck (so luck increases or things based on luck) and all other times must come from drops (you can buy weapons) - Your choice on whether to go for melee or ranged, blades might be a decent idea bc of extra crit but it's up to you Do with this idea what you will! I just wanna see dropped item crates stretching across the whole damn screen! Keep up the great vids!
It's this character that is particularly good. If you know how to build and have enough luck to get the right pieces at the start it snowballs like no other exactly because the ''malus'' turns pretty soon into another bonus. It's the only character I managed to make a standstill build for floor 12. Having crit, piercing, bouncing, hunter and all that jazz gathered me along 3,5k mats plus the stash.
Run suggestion: No hit - Don't get hit - Reto's choice of character and weapons, although I'd recommend ranger given the inherent glass cannon focus of the character.
If we’re talking about ricochet and pierce: I had a run that was SMGs with piercing and ricochet, and it seemed to work BUT it’s also incredibly hard to tell 100% because of the sheer volume of bullets I was spitting out. I don’t know if the initial shot dealing 100% damage was bouncing and then piercing or if the final shot doing whatever reduced damage (piercing reduces damage by a percentage for each pierce) was the one bouncing, but I’m fairly certain I saw bullets bouncing in weird directions.
Here's a build I'd like to see The "Loud Alien", in this run, you'll choose the 'Loud' character, and play the run normally as seen fit, but, if you see any Alien Item, like Gentle Alien, Baby Alien, or Alien Magic, you *Must* pick up that item, if you cannot afford it, you must Lock the shop until you can afford it. The rest of the run is up to you, good luck!

here's my suggestion: how about a melee-only build with a heavy focus on range? I'm thinking of something like Sephiroth and his long blade that cuts through everything even if it doesn't touch it sort of thing. and by melee, I mean you can't use cacti club, or lightning dagger, or any melee attack that causes a projectile to be released.

Full Pacifist Character: Loud No weapons allowed (In the first shop, you need to recycle the weapon you get) You must level up Dodge/HP/Armor/HP Regen/Luck (Try to get damage into negatives)
A good one would be Masochist/Primal build (Primal gives a great hp bonus, good for masochist, maybe sticks or torch) as well as some range (Like shotgun)
having a weapon you don't want to use in your inventory makes it more likely to show up in the shop, I didn't want sticks in the shop and I was pretty confident I'd win the round without it

May use unarmed weapons (hand/fist). May take a single sword (their dress uniform has one). For defense focuses heavily on dodge. This Is a pistol/unarmed/dodge build.
Hey Reto, I think a neat idea would be to play full teaser trying to slow enemy as much as possible, also with items like ugly tooth, and focusing on speed stat to kite the enemies. Idk which class would be better for this build I was thinking about ranger or pacifist, but don’t even know all of them so if you think a different class would be better go ahead and choose it. I’m also not sure if teaser slow stacks but I don’t think so. I hope you consider this idea. Love the series. Thanks for bringing in daily content anyway. :)
Over last week I was trying to figure out how to build masochist properly and I think I finally solved it! 1. Start with Rock. Aim for 4 blunt weapons and 2 fast dps weapons. I was using SMG's (shotguns may work too. However I haven't tested them properly yet) 2. Most important stats are (in order) Armor > HP Regen > Max HP 3. Stats that aren't that important, but are very welcome (in my opinion). Range > Atk Speed > Luck (for more fruits) > Lifesteal 4. Make sure your speed is at least few percent over zero. You won't suffer much from lack of speed in the early waves, however in the last few you need to be able to outrun enemies. Otherwise you won't have time to heal and die Give it a try! (edit) I ended final wave with +520% damage and enough HP and armor I didn't had to worry at all about dying until last few seconds
RUN IDEA: "You're a pirate!" run. Character: Ranger. Weapons: Pistols and Shotguns (Pistols preferred). Preferred stats: Damage, Dodge, and Critical (Both damage and change). Dump Stat: Attack Speed. Yo ho ho, matey, you are not a landlubber, aye? Get ye blasted flintlocks ready, the more the better, for the loading is sure to weight on your body. Be nimble and make every shot count!
Ranger All SMG (maybe try pistol for more damage), Go for max crit chance and attack speed, 1 shot, 1 kill with bullets everywhere is the ideal scenario
Thanks for trying out the suggestion, that baby with a beard is surprising, never had that on a range weapon run before for rico + piercing, pretty sure it use all bounce first before using the piercing, but i had it on a 6gun run so its hard to track with all the flying bullet on the screen This one build have bonker dmg scaling: masochist with 6 stones, if you do want take some hammer, thats fine as well (i prefer 6 stones because its easier to judge the range) the build doesnt run as smooth as cacti, because the inherent masochist problem that it is just hard to pull of without luckily getting tons of armor
You could do a build where you can’t combine until you have 6 weapons but when you do you have to combine all possible weapons. Would be interesting to see if you could make it work
l feel that speed is a redundant stat, past a little bit positive. That is, if you have good pathing. Also l would wanna ask you if you can find the heviest hammer and play it without getting attack speed.
Can I ask about the range damage you're going with in a melee build? I may not understand the reasoning behind it. Do ranged damage benefit melee as well? I'm addicted to this game, it is awesome so it's great to see so many videos from you!
How about a NO LEGS challenge: Jou are not allowed to move AT ALL. Otherwise no limitations. I'm not sure if it is possible, because you are not able to go and pick up money or experience, but maybe with pickup range upgrades it could work. I would be really interested to see you try to make it work somehow.

After seeing this one, I wonder how stupid a "One Bullet Nuke" build would be. One-Armed, go ham on the ranged damage, tanking attack speed as necessary. Take any weapon you prefer. Pray you survive long enough to see Bearded Baby so the world disintegrates.
Day 3 of asking for the "ultimate dumb build" with Dumb character using only Blunt weapons (preferably only rocks). If you need a viable alternative for Dumb, then go for a Stick build, a machinegun build or an Elemental build with burn instead. It's not as thematic, but it actually kinda works.

Real talk, I am going to keep doing it. It is the only thing that keeps me sane after 11 years of dealing with everyone getting to say whatever they want to and about me without consequence, the least I get to do is have a playful, entirely harmless, jab back. I am not in this to have the biggest channel possible, I couldn't care less, I am in it to have a good time and a community that I enjoy having around me, when I call things out, they happen less and I have a better time. It has also led to a lot of people who didn't realize the attitude and way they carry themselves online is off-putting actually coming forward to tell me they have changed things about their online presence. Man i am starting to notice how annoyed i get by "wasted exp". I mean the 2x next wave is nice but without a easy way to identify them you lose where they are in the most chaotic waves. I would love if they had a different colour... blue maybe?
There is no wasted xp, it isn't specific ones so marking isn't possible. You just subtract from your reserve until you've recouped it all. But yeah, no such thing truly as missed xp in this.
@@Retromation i might be wrong here, but as i watched the 2x are always de first ones to drop not the first ones to be picked. As in if you leave 10 drops on wave one, the first 10 drops in wace 2 are 2x, meaning you can "miss" a 2x drop, thats how sometimes in the middle of the wave after taking tons of exp you sometimes find a 2x mixed in.

From what i've seen it first pierces and then ricochets but most times i have both its pretty chaotic so hard to say with certainty
Same. Entirely too chaotic to discern what's going on.
The fact that you can squeeze so many episodes out of a demo is pretty wild. I have high hopes for the full release.

another amazing content on brotato! i love this series so much lol 😆 but just a personal suggestion.... u can completely ignore if u wish! i think ur tad bit too sarcastic on the negative comments lol i can only imagine how annoying to hear ppl who dont know anything keep nagging at you but it kind of brings the negativity to the rest of the viewers whos very supportive and are fully on board with how you play the game (by this time ive personally be watching u for a while to know that you do your research and understand the game mech to make good decisions in general)

Real talk, I am going to keep doing it. It is the only thing that keeps me sane after 11 years of dealing with everyone getting to say whatever they want to and about me without consequence, the least I get to do is have a playful, entirely harmless, jab back. I am not in this to have the biggest channel possible, I couldn't care less, I am in it to have a good time and a community that I enjoy having around me, when I call things out, they happen less and I have a better time. It has also led to a lot of people who didn't realize the attitude and way they carry themselves online is off-putting actually coming forward to tell me they have changed things about their online presence.
I get comments like this from time to time complaining about me complaining about complaining, but know that I am not snapping back at you, in fact I normally feel like it is not my duty to justify the action as it is harmless. Know that I replied because you approached it and commented on it in a very respectful way, so thank you.

I am so bad at this game that I have played for about 8 hours straight and still have not won a single run.
Man i am starting to notice how annoyed i get by "wasted exp". I mean the 2x next wave is nice but without a easy way to identify them you lose where they are in the most chaotic waves. I would love if they had a different colour... blue maybe?
There is no wasted xp, it isn't specific ones so marking isn't possible. You just subtract from your reserve until you've recouped it all. But yeah, no such thing truly as missed xp in this.
@@Retromation i might be wrong here, but as i watched the 2x are always de first ones to drop not the first ones to be picked. As in if you leave 10 drops on wave one, the first 10 drops in wace 2 are 2x, meaning you can "miss" a 2x drop, thats how sometimes in the middle of the wave after taking tons of exp you sometimes find a 2x mixed in.
Ok. One armed right? Plus rocket launcher, plus a lot of fire rate upgrades. Get a full auto rpg.

Why does it says you have only 5/6 weapons when the game clearly shows you have 6?

First cacti hit is melee, the spikes that shoot out after are ranged.
