I recently took the online live proctored CPC exam. The platform was fine, but the differing instructions everywhere prior to, made me much more anxious than necessary. You chat and take pictures prior to the proctor coming on. Once the proctor is on you scan the room, under desk, show your books and work area. Then they watch you throughout the exam. The proctor did have a fairly thick accent, so that was a bit of an obstacle, but if you kind of know the process, you can figure out what is being told to/ asked of you.
I'm going for my 6th attempt at the exam and every time they have been making changes to the exam, where you can take it in your own home (because I would have to drive 4 hrs or more to go in person, pay for a hotel, gas etc). It's getting very expensive. Between the books if I don't do it before the new ones are needed, paying for the attempt(s).... Wow.
I took cpc course from aapc. I took test 2 times failed by total of 3 points. Put it aside for a couple months. Would like to retake it before the end of 2024. Where would you suggest I start back studying? I felt I did good on both tests.

Yes they still watch you during the exam but they are not as invasive during the test.
Yes, ProctorU was much better than Examity... I just took the CPMA online and it was sooo much less stressful!

Do you have to pay the 219 to be a AAPC member before you take the test
Yes, you cannot take any exams without being a member. And you must pay the annual dues every year in order to keep your credential.
