Some 2022 and 2023 trucks lost start/stop due to the chip shortage. I have two 23 F150s without, and a 2024 with. No way am I putting my truck through the start/stop engine lubrication pause (waiting for oil on startup), so I always disable. It will help with fuel economy, but it is not worth the starter and most importantly, extra engine wear. I will just pay for fuel.
Engines with start stop are designed differently than non start stop engines. They do not suffer from oil starvation on restart like some suspect, in fact they keep waaaay more oil in the top of the engine than they used to and that oil is immediately available for lubrication. It won’t negatively affect the engine. The PCV blowing into the intake sure as hell will though. That’s what I’d be more concerned about.
With the F-150s, you have to disable traction control or the rev limiter will engage and reduce how fast the truck accelerates. Either way, the 2025 Rebel has a slightly faster 0-60 acceleration time.

JB, which 1/2 ton truck is your favorite between GMC, Ford, Chevy, Ram? I'm looking at the 1500 AT4, Denali, and f150 tremor 3.5 or 5.0. Seat comfort has me a bit spooked about going with the GMC. However that 3.0 Duramax seems pretty sweet. What are your thoughts?
Why would people be upset you tested 0-60 in sport mode? If you are trying for 0 to 60 performance, I would expect no less. Testing that in eco mode makes zero sense. I think you did it right. But I’d go one step further and test in 4wd mode for a second test, why? Because that will remove the tires or tire temperature from the equation. I recommend you standardize zero to 60 testing. Settings for the zero to sixty and location should all be the same or as similar as possible. A 4x4 zero to 60 should also be provided.
That truck would have been a lot faster if launch it in 4WD like he did the Ram. My 2011 F-150 5.0L runs quicker 0-60's than he got out of the Tremor in this test.
He, is at elevation so there is some power loss, that being said most EB and PB have been lower 5 second range, my Lariat 3.5 puts it in 4A when in Sport mode, guess you would call his tests more a real world of just stomping on gas.

@lil2.74 I had a 2016 Coyote Screw, pretty sure mine never did 5.6, a tune, premium gas? I would consider it real world, as in just stomping on the gas, while driving, did he even say he was driving in Eco mode?
He thinks because FCA merged with Peugot, a French auto maker and formed Stellantis that means that Ram trucks are now "French". The stupidity is fascinating. Stellantis is headquartered in The Netherlands, not France. Stellantis is a multi national corporation. The Ram brand is American. The trucks are made in the USA. Even GM and Ford have vehichles made outside the US and the American made vehichles are loaded with foreign parts. All automakers are like this. Why is it so difficult for so-called automotive UA-camrs to conduct a legit comparison? Both of those trucks should have been launched in a straight line (you are turning) and in 4WD. Both trucks would have performed significantly better.
Nice thing about my location is im within an hr of two black owned dealerships. B&B Ford in Barnwell, S.C. and Malcom Cunningham Chevrolet. Haven't found a Mopar dealership yet, but the way Stellantis is ruining Mopar, i dont think i would buy a new one.

I ordered one (Tremor) last year and was happy that I didn't have stop/start. I'm at 20.8 mpg over the last 2k miles (Coyote). I don't really like the Ford seats. I think stop/start is overrated.
Duratrash tires are astonishingly bad, and cannot be used off road as they pop instantly. They have mushy, thin side walls and a delicate as glass belt. What a nightmare. Mine were destroyed in no time on a Power Wagon. I would require they be changed out on my next truck.
The Duke says, the ram barely gets better gas mileage than my f-550 Godzilla. And my truck has 4.88 gears and weighs 10,000 lb empty. Go figure. What did I teach you?
Had a Jeep Wagoneer with the Hurricane/8 speed for the last 2 weeks on a vacation trip out to UT/CO to visit the national parks. Averaged 17 MPG over 5000 miles and was not impressed with the drivetrain. Transmission would stay in 6th when cruising at 75 mph on flat ground when the temps where in the 90's. Not sure what was going on. I'd prefer the Ecoboost/10 speed powertrain.
Because you have personally tested the new RAM engine and have signed off that recalls will be coming. As if Ford has never had recalls with new motors.
JB, thanks for your review, but there are holes in your review and will provide you with some things to evenly make your reviews more pertinent. Firstly, you're putting an off-road designed truck (Rebel) against a higher optioned-out Ford F-150 Eco-Boost. There are no details with the Tremor package in this review, compared to the Rebel (which is purpose built) that make it any more an off-roader than the standard off-road F-150 4x4 variant--Tremor upgrades are all exterior/interior stitching eye candy for the most part and are not a purpose-built upgrade. Proof is in the video of the interiors of the two. Secondly, I have read every comment on this post, and most are biased towards Ford, which is expected, and I would say, you're biased toward Ford as well. That is fine as well. However, neither truck was truly tested in its aftermarket and upgraded design form. 0-60 times or mileage is not important here, but their capability. These are off-road capable trucks designed for off-roading. towing, and other utilitarian designs. Make a pertinent video of how these trucks compare in the real world on road and off-road--including the true street variants and the up-and-coming RHO vs. Raptor. vs GM offerings. This comparison is between two amazing trucks. Ford and Ram and the competition is fierce--each brings their own design and pluses, plus unique capabilities. Ram is stepping it up with Hurricane in-line 6 leaving Ford behind in interior design, ride quality, and performance (just look at truck of the year reviews)--the 3.5l V-6 Twin Turbo is great but is dated, just like the Toyota 5.7l. God Bless America, all American truck brands in this segment are awesome and I love each of them! Hope this is a helpful post!
If you're going to test these trucks you need to do so consistently, it's poor form and makes you look bias when you give one vehicle an advantage over the other "in this case launching the Ford in 2WD and the Ram in 4WD". My stock other than exhaust 2011 F-150 5.0L is a high 6 to low 7 second 0-60 truck. A Modern 10-Speed Ecoboost F-150 is a sub 6 second truck 0-60. If you're going to fairly compare on mileage than you need to do so in performance as well. That blown launch on the Ecoboost cost it over a second in it's performance run.
All the ford guys on here worried if they will be faster.. let me burst ur bubble and tell u if u see a hurricane save the embaressment and dont hurt ur pride trying to race it ...your going to lose can tell u 1st hand have ran 4 ecoboost trucks and have beat every one of them from a dead stop or a roll ... sorry ford boys

That’s the standard Ram Rebel with 420hp/469lbft.. the Ecoboost is still more powerful though
The Duke says, the ram barely gets better gas mileage than my f-550 Godzilla. And my truck has 4.88 gears and weighs 10,000 lb empty.
Go figure. What did I teach you?
The Hemi Rebel also got crap mileage. I think it’s the E rated tires. Lets test a standard Ram with 3.55 rears
Both suck for reliability I'm sure, but I would take the Tremor. There's no way I'm taking a first-year Dodge/stellantis ANYTHING
Reliability?
I had a ram.. now the Tremor.. ya baby…
Wouldn't touch the ram with that new motor... recalls will be coming
Because you have personally tested the new RAM engine and have signed off that recalls will be coming. As if Ford has never had recalls with new motors.
@@terrareconthey have. That’s why we know they’re coming lol.
The engine has been out for 2 to 3 years already in the jeep wagoneer. No major issues
But thats not in a truck application: towing heavy trailers, cargo etc. Just used in a jeep country club suv so far. @christopherjb274
No dipstick in the Ram😢
Who cares
What you mean no dip stick? For the transmission or motor
@@ReelinTension the motor and transmission lack a dip stick.
@@williamnickel8132 how the hell do you check oil levels
There's a sensor which shows your oil level on the guage cluster@ReelinTension
At this point in the game I'd take 3.5 ecoboost over the Hurricane. Huricane might end up like the Tundra motor. hahahahaha
Even with the same gear ratio and tires size, the hurricane gets worse MPG than the 5.0L Ford and 6.2L GM
And out powers both of them.
Put more air in the tires on the RAM.
So the top rated Ram, but no Ford Ecoboost Hybrid, which is top for them. Plus enough electrical power for a camper. Not really much competition!
Its not the top rated ram, just is at the moment
0-60 ram test on 4x4 and f150 on rwd with traction off. Best test lol
Cloth seats in nearly $80,000 trucks....
Tremor all the way for overall look on the road, especially the front end.
You go conduct your own comparisons and post them on UA-cam for us.
@@TRILLdUP713 No, I don't think I will. But I'll continue to call out bullshit in comparisons like this when I see it.
Ram all the way
Better styling
Better interior
Better reliability
I’m surprised they didn’t have to end the test half way through to tow the ford to the dealer to replace the timing set
Like the test between the new Shelby and the demon
Mustang kept breaking down and when they finally did the race and the mustang lost they found the body was broken and falling apart . Lol

You might be one of the only people I've ever seen refer to a Ram as reliable.
@@nathanmcdonald610
You people think nothing ever changes. RAMs are way more reliable than Fords. At lest the V6 and 5.7 hemi. Independent mechanic here.
@@moonwalker8172 if you were an independent mechanic, then you would know how often Hemis shit out lifters…
@@nathanmcdonald610
Yes, some Hemi’s do have roller failures on the lifter, but it’s a small percentage. You hear of the failure because there are 10 times the number of Hemi’s on the streets.
RAM
People still buy Fords?
The ones who want a belly button truck. But smart people buy ram. Especially if they drive one first.. No competition
Hell of a power advantage for the Ram. With the proper tires it kills the Ford!
The ram mostly sells the 3.21 axle ratio so the RPM would go down even more
3.21 is Hemi only. The hurricane is 3.55 or 3.92
RAM = Alpha Man
