If you want to react to more live stages I definitely would recommend their „put it straight“ and „lion“ performance from Queendom, their MMA performance (2022) and their MAMA performance (2022)
They are still called (G)I-dle, although is correct to call them both ways. The name thing it's all about their korean name and the concept they had for the 'I Never Die' era. Originally they wanted to name themselves just 'Aideul' (아이들), a word that is used for "idol" in the kpop vocab but actually means "kid" in korean. Their company thought it would be too confusing, especially bc other groups also used the same word in their name, so they decided to go with 여자 아이들 (yeoja aideul = girl idol) instead, which gave their korean name more of "little girl" meaning. The group was not particularly happy but they went with it. That being said, during their "I Never Die" era they wanted to break once and for all the idea of "little girl" being associated with them and, maybe more importantly, their message was that they weren't going to be confined by the standards of what meant to be a female idol anymore. Regardless of their gender, they were just going to be their true selves and do whatever the f' they wanted. So they symbolically dropped the (G = yeoja = girl) and just called themselves 'aideul'. At that time, they really stopped presenting themselves in Korea as 'yeoja aideul' but even then they kept using (G)Idle as their international name, since it didn't carry the same linguistic meaning. Nowadays tho they seem to be at peace with all the names since they're back to call themselves 'yeoja aideul' in Korea. I particularly believe that's because they delivered their message loud and clear and that really changed the perception of the public about them. No one sees them as 'little girls ' anymore.
Yeah, for my bag, Soyeon wrote verses for all the girls with their nicknames/terms used to describe them. So like you noticed, Shuhua's is boss baby. Miyeon's is princess, Minnie's is yeppi yeppi (not really mentioned in my bag, she's referred to as someone with a fantasy-like gaze, BUT it is mentioned in nxde!), Yuqi's is giant dog (which is funny cause she's really short and fans refer to her as a puppy more often), and Soyeon's (which she brings up in her MAMA 2022 rap) is Lion queen! Also just a reminder: Yuqi's name is prounced "oogi" in the Korean way and "yuchi" in the Chinese way, either is fine. But her name isn't Yuki. Thank you for the cool reaction !
I've watched every videos of you reacted to gidle, I love it so far. thank you for reacting to my one and only girl group that I like. can't wait to see more... I'm excited
you're such a vibe. haha.. FUN FACT: gidle have been always singing live since their debut except for their first debut showcase. them girls are truly talented
Ya bro their stage presence is awesome. I went to their concert in Texas a few weeks back and they were awesome. And minnie live vocals during her solo stage were ridiculous.. girl is amazing
they are great live. i recocomend the queendom performances / lion put it straight (nightmare version )and latatata . SHuhua is actually insaner she has a workamn series and shes is crazy in a good way.
For this live of My Bag, you have to see behind the scenes. G is girl. ' Inever die' album Tomboy refer to Neither man nor women. So it mean this era.. No gender in this album . But for 'I Feel' Mini album they take G back. And in Korea, people 's just call them 'IDLE'. I recommend you see them in their in Fan meetings by Fan can, they are so funny.
Keep it up bro. I'm liking your reaction on (G)I-dle so far. I suggest for the finale of this (G)I-dle week, you should react to their Killing Voice performance. It's a cool way to conclude this up.
you need to watch my bag in mcountdown for see their live performance that not cutted! they literally going everywhere behind the camera! (you can see it in their individual fancam)
Their live performance at 2022 MMA is epic ua-cam.com/video/c-mx6bNkZ-c/v-deo.html. Soyeon changes her rap lines in the intro and basically flips-off the MMA's. Additionally, Minnie's opening is one of the sexiest routines I've ever seen in kpop, it is truly iconic. Gidle members have great solo works. But I particularly enjoy Yuqi's. I suggest dedicating one entire episode to just Yuqi's covers; BEGGIN ( Maneskin), EASY ON ME (Adele), RISE UP (Andra Day), SHALLOW (Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper), FLOWERS (Miley Cyrus), WHAT ABOUT US ( Color Coded Lyrics), GIANT, and BONNIE & CLYDE. Yuqi's voice and charisma are amazing! Dude, sorry you felt compelled to mention race in your intro. Did you consider the algorithms, they can be quite random depending how they are arranged. More gidle please, their B-sides are some of the best in kpop. 🫶
When Soyeon came up with the name 'idle' Cube didn't like it because it means lazy. To get Cube to accept it, she changed it to (g)i-dle (the 'dle' part is in Korean characters in the logo and turned sideways - i들). So they called themselves "G-idle" for non- Korean audiences and yeoja idle in Korea (yeoja - 여자 - means girl/female) at the beginning of their career and have slowly been changing it back. After Soojin left they really started dropping the "G" and I feel this is because they were really angry about what had happened, partly at Cube, partly at how female idols were treated differently to male idols in those same circumstances, and so they were like, "we are just going to do what we want because trying to conform doesn't make any difference at the end of the day. We are going to show everything who we truly are and what we really can do. " At least, that's my take 😊
들 in Korean is a plural marker, it means more than one thing or person. Their name i들 actually means I (as in me) plural ; It seems to indicate the intention of saying there are multiple versions of themselves which can be shown at anytime. and if you add in 여자 to i들 you end up with a group name that basically means multi-faceted women. The nonsense about them being angry about Soojin is all speculation at this point on your part and you need to let it go. All Idols know any negative thing that comes out can ruin their career, they accept that and when it happens to group members (and it happens a lot) they adapt and move on. Dwelling on it is not productive. As for Soojin she made a mistake. The 1st was engaging in what the west seems to think are not so terrible behaviors, and 2nd not apologizing for it publicly to save her career, she tried to 'bully' an actress into coming out and saying it wasn't true by publically calling for her to do so and it blew up in her face when that actress did come forward and say it was IN Fact true. Had she not done that she could have taken a break, apologized and returned. So stop hating on cube and projecting that on to how the group feels about it. If any group has any reason to be sour at Cube it is ONLY CLC. Cube's focus on G-IDLE is the reason there is no longer a CLC.
@incheonguy firstly, Soojin did apologise for the mistakes she made, which was not for bullying. Secondly, the school confirmed that she was the victim of bullying, not a bully as the accusations stated. It has also been confirmed that the group of bullies that the girls said Soojin was a part of did not actually include Soojin. The reporter that spread the false rumours about Soojin did not check any information and just took the words of one of the sisters, this was then repeated by other media organisations. Have I moved on? Yes. But it doesn't mean that she wasn't treated wrongfully. Cube neglect all their artists, (g)i-dle have just been really persistent and Soyeon especially has done a lot to make sure they are successful. It now helps them that they are the most successful group Cube has ever had, but CLC is not alone in Cube's neglect. Soyeon wrote Latata because the single Cube eventually provided for their debut was so bad, she felt it would destroy their carers.
@@incheonguyThat "Idle"/lazy information is wrong and doesn't even make sense in Korean. She meant to name them 'aideul' (아이들) what means "kid" in korean. Cube didn't accept bc it's the exact same word used for 'idol' and they thought it would be to confusing. So they named them 'yeoja aideul' (여자 아이들) what means "girl idol" or literally 'little girl'. The dropping of the (G) representing 'yeoja' (여자) - 'girl' or 'woman' in KR - was to reinforce the message they conveyed in "Tomboy" of not being willing to be constrainted by gender norms anymore. Also it's a way to say they're not "little girls" anymore but women taking control of their narrative. And I agree with you about Soojin. Her careered got destroyed bc of an absurd lack of fact checking or even interested in the truth and that's on Cube, that should've protected her properly. She's was treated ulterally unfairly and that's why is so hard to move on from what happened to her.
They didn't take out the "G". The "G" has always been silent. It stands for "girls", and I-dle means children. That's why the fandom is called Neverland, the place where children can stay children and play forever.
They removed the (g) with tomboy as they didn't want to be labelled as a girl group, which comes with certain expectations. But rather labelled as the artists that they are.
That's not the reason. Because if it was they would have dropped 여자 which means woman/girl in Korean. They didn't drop that and are still promoting with it in the name. The G was for you English speakers so you could remember what 여자 means. Nothing more. They don't feel like they need to explain 여자 to English speakers anymore that's why they dropped the G, since kpop has grown globally, and everyone now knows what 여자 means. It was redundant.
The fanboy thing bothers people sometimes because more often than not the "fanboys" are just creepy towards idols (female & male). Obviously not all of them, there are some good ones like you. But New Jeans, for example get a lot of older "fanboys" who are just there to drool over young/underage girls. I get what you mean though, I also believe non creepy fanboys should be more normalized lol. Thank you for the reaction!! 🩷
You don't know what you are talking about. Most girl groups in Korea survive by male fans almost exclusively. There are a few groups where there is a 70/30 or 60/40 gender split. It's the same as nearly all boy groups have all female fans in Korea. I go to the music shows and I see this 1st hand. Fanboys as you call them are normal and not creepy. No one is going there to drool over teenage girls in fact I would say the opposite, they are overprotective of underage idols. You must be a girl yourself to have such a slanted view on male fans. That's sad and it's a very western point of view. Maybe all the male fans of girl groups in the west are perverts but that's not true in Korea. If it's true on the west that is a sad reflection on the west. I could say fan girls of boy groups are creepy since they take their obsessions way to far when compared to male fans of girl groups. But let's not go there shall we. Just realize you made a really dumb and uniformed biased comment.
yes it so creepy especially in Korean society.... they more care and focus on their visual or the beauty standard rather than the music itself...me personally, New Jeans is too young and innocent...maybe for next 3 years, I will follow their music..
I was a huge Gidle fan. But since Tomboy they have decided I am not the demographic fan they want. The music Tomboy to current is not aimed at me. That's okay. They decidedly went for the 20s and sub 20s fan market. The fans who are going to go wild over swearing in a song. I still support the members, but sadly their current direction is away from me as a fan. I hope they get back to making less gender specific music that I can releate to.

I think you would enjoy their 'Killing Voice'. They basically sing a variety of their songs in a live session.
Yes! Their Killing Voice is amazing!
Agreed !
Killing Voice is the good way to explore their Title, Single and some B side tracks songs and their personality.
I'll recommend some iconic performance from them in my opinion:
1. That That (Cover) Prime Show
2. Villain Dies Prime Show
3. Never Stop Me
4: Put it straight (Nightmare Ver) from Queendom
5; I don't love you (cover)
6: MMA 2022 performance (villain dies + nxde + change + tomboy)
ALOT MORE
Your bias must be Yuqi for sure because you always pause and scream when Yuqi appeared. Yuqi is so cool, I can feel you.😊
Yuqi power🤩
