Thanks for the comment - we really appreciate the feedback :). Yes this is such a pretty place, it's like you are in a movie! Even with that windstorm we really enjoyed our visit... Thanks again and safe travels!
Love the beautiful location. And your helpful comments about the location and the information you provide while watching the gorgeous scenery makes this amazing video!
Worst wind we ever encountered while camping in our trailer was at Tuttle Creek Campground near Lone Pine, California. It wasn't dangerous per se but it rocked out trailer all night long despite being oriented in the direction of the wind. I kept imagining the trailer breaking loose and rolling away all night long. It was a relief to wake up to a still morning. Regardless, a great campground to visit.
Oh I know the wind can really get ripping off the Sierras there. Not easy to get a restful night of sleep in those conditions is it ? We camped there during our Lone Pine/Alabama hills video - fortunately it was not windy at that time... Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Awesome Vid. LOVE setting up camp at Valley of the Gods. We had a little wind last trip but i now see it was merely a breeze compared to yur 80MPH gusts! Wow! Stunning Drone shots on this one. Thank you!
I was at goosenecks a couple of days ago, which is probably always windy, and a bird came flying out of the canyon so fast I didn’t see it, but I heard it fly past my head so fast it was like someone had fired a .50 caliber round at me! I only think it was a bird because I saw one in the distance being carried away by the wind. Apple Maps sent us to the Dugway and didn’t tell us what we were in for. I chickened out, turned back, and went around! Next time we’ll rent a 4x4 and definitely hit the dirt roads. Thanks for the info!!!
Wow, what a great video. Bob you have the best information and give the best audio if anyone I watch. It is beautiful where you stayed stunning views. A bit scary though. The wind would of scared me . We were driving one time and we got caught in an aulful wind storm. We had to pull over because our canopy became open. We had to get out the old duck tape to keep it on. It was ruined. I was scared as our trailer swayed. But, I had to help my husband. I prayed when we got back in to keep us safe as we continued to drive. Thanks you for sharing with us such beautiful views of the area. Take Care and God Bless you both Enjoy your journey I look forward to more 😊
Thank you for the comment! Wow that must have been scary for you, at least we were stationary and expecting it, though it was still scary.... Thanks again !
Another fantastic video Bob. The cinematic drone shots were excellent and the way your portrayed the Moki Dugway was the best I have seen. We have experienced some high winds in our travels over the years, but never as high as 85. I can only imagine the nail bitting that was done in the trailer. We we camped on snowbird mesa outside Overton NV and had winds in the 60 to 70s and Angie made me go hook up our truck to our 5th wheel, she though for sure the wind was going to blow us over and wanted the additional weigh of the truck attached to the RV. Take care and safe travels! Sean & Angie
Thanks much for the feedback - we really appreciate it. That area as you know is so pretty - Dang did a great job capturing it i think. And yes, you nailed it - there was a lot of nail biting going on. Every time the wind gusted and the trailer shook hard it was like: "I wonder what broke with that gust...". Good idea to attach the truck as ballast :). Thanks again for watching and the helpful comment!
We have boondocked at probably the same site and agree with all of your discriptions on Valley of the Gods, Our worst weather experience came when boondocking at Lone Rock on Lake powell. The wind got so bad that the sand clogged the windows and they couldn't be opened and sand was blown under the slide so gritty I was afraid the flooring would br destroyed. It took a year to get all the sand and dust out of the camper and I bet we haven't gotten it all by now, Great video
Thanks for dropping us a comment - that Lake Powell experience sounds harrowing... We have visited lone rock but never camped there. Its on our list - hopefully there is more water in the lake now - when we last visited the rock was pretty much sticking out of the mud - looks nicer with water :). Safe travels to you guys!
It was a bit scary sitting inside and imagining what the wind was doing to the trailer... frankly i thought we would be in worse shape than how we ended up. Thanks for the comment!
We knew we were in for some wind, but didn't really know how strong it was going to be until it happened, and by then it was no time to try to drive out! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment ! Safe travels and we really enjoy your channel as well :)
Great Vid ! I was out there this past Sept ('23) and pulled my pop up up the Moki to Natural Bridges, parked it and drove back down to the Goosenecks and thru VOG the next day. I NEED to get a Drone ! Drove up and down both sides of Comb Ridge, hiking to Ruins and panels while I was there. Also Must see places to take in out there. Several years ago I was on Oklahoma Freewheel (Bicycle) Tour in western OK and a early June thunderstorm came through the campgrpund about 11 pm with 65-70 mph winds, blowing the porta-potties over AND tents down . I was in my tent with my bike, spread eagled on the upwind side and made it through the night. Several years laterI was on Bike Florida in Appalachicola when a storm came therough and I told everyone in the morning they shoulda been in OK with me.
Thanks for the comment! It sounds like you had a great time there - we didn't do natural bridges this time but want to next time when the weather is better :). That trip in Oklahoma sounds wicked! I can only imagine how horrifying that must have been. That's a trip you will remember forever for sure! Thanks for sharing and happy camping to you :)
Wow that campsite was stunning! Oh my that drive was amazing but not sure how I would like it I am not a fan of heights or drives like that but I do tend to try it once. That storm was crazy probably a good move to move the trailer wow someone may have been in a tent during that wow. We havent had that bad of winds while camping maybe just once was nervous with all the trees by Mt Rainier but we did live in Kansas City and did deal with a few tornados luckily only lived in Kansas City ( Missery/ Missouri ) for a year! great video with fantastic drone footage and gorgeous views! Well done as always never disappointing!
Thanks once again for the positive feedback. We had a great time despite the wind storm. We have never lived near tornados and that would completely freak us out if we were camping close to them.... safe travels to you guys - we can't wait to see your next video!
13:30 maybe it was us 😂we would be there. Crazy wants to set up in a tent, and some really bad weather matter fact, we were just up to Algonac State park set up in a tent and it literally was a trench roll downpour all night long and I would say 40% of the campsites were flooded out but we didn’t get wet but I also prepared we had a 9 mm tarp over our whole entire set up, but that was basically so that we could keep cool, because we are running the air conditioning in the tent and actually worked really well and that storm was something else guys are really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming.
That landscape is amazing, the colour is so unreal. Real great drone shots of the road. That loop area is fantastic. Wow the sand storm was intense. Beautiful video.
Come to S. Louisiana during late summer and early fall. Our hurricanes sometimes reach tornado speeds over a 300 Mi^2 area. Ida was the most recent worst. Downed two foot diameter pines everywhere.
We'll pass on the hurricanes thank you ! :) I have often wondered what you guys do with RVs when that happens, I mean if that wind is hitting the RV broadside I would think it would just rip it apart. Thanks for the comment and stay safe! Bob and Dang
Yes Sir, happened to us twice! Tuttle Creek in the Alabama Hills and in our next video Great video! Valley of the gods in on our list. Love the drone video!
Thank you for the comment. We will have to try one of your delicious recipes when camping one of these days - one that is not too involved as we have a somewhat simple kitchen :)
Cool video...I'm planning a trip there in a few weeks...hope the weather cooperates! I also ran into a blizzard on Highway 80 through southern Wyoming with probably 70-80 mph crosswinds...there were a few tipped semi-trucks and a smaller panel van tipped over off the side of the road!
Thanks for the comment! That trip on 80 sounds Scary! Hope you have better weather in vog - we have frequently seen it windy there in spring but not as bad as this video! Good luck and safe travels!
Worse winds for us was actually at goosenecks (at night and on the rim)😮 we opened all of our windows to lower our chance of tumbling into the San Juan. No dust so it helped.
Awesome video! That wind was wild. I’m surprised you were able to walk around in it 😂 Those drone shots you captured were stunning 😮 Such a cool place, thanks for sharing. ✌️
Oh man that 43 ranch oive oil is the best! How did your guys trip go up north? Our video from paso will be coming out in the Fall. Thanks for the comment and safe travels!
Loving your videos - I was there last year, and the Goosenecks 👍😃 I’m curious, you seem to cook from the back of your truck rather than in your RV. Is that simply because you like to cook outside? 🤣
Hi, thanks for leaving a comment and for watching! We mix it up in terms of cooking. If we are grilling then for sure outside, or if it happens to be warm out and we dont want to heat up the rv - it's somewhat arbitrary. Usually we would use a table next to the trailer but in this case i think there was wind and the truck bed was just easier. Thanks agsin for watching and happy camping :)
Worst winds? Maybe back "WHEN" FL State parks allowed RV's on the 'World's Longest Fishing Pier' between St. Pete & Sarasota along i275. (Skyway fishing pier) Wife insisted we lower roof of VW Westfalia camper van. Last we know, it's not open to trailers as people abused the facility and dumped their black $hit in Tampa Bay. 😢
Oh man, that must have been sketchy - one big gust comes along and blows you into the bay! That would ruin a camping trip pretty thoroughly! Sad to hear irresponsible campers caused another shutdown - we hate to hear those stories but it's getting more and more common unfortunately . Thanks for the view and the comment!
What a great place to boondock...despite the CRAZY weather!
Thanks for the comment - we really appreciate the feedback :). Yes this is such a pretty place, it's like you are in a movie! Even with that windstorm we really enjoyed our visit... Thanks again and safe travels!
Beautiful shots and awes9me narration!
Thanks so much for the feedback - and for watching!
Love the beautiful location. And your helpful comments about the location and the information you provide while watching the gorgeous scenery makes this amazing video!
Glad you enjoyed it :) it is a great place when its not too windy!

Thanks for sharing. Can’t believe the dishy and tent both survived the wind.
In truth, dishy is a bit gritty now :) you can hear it grind when positioning! Thanks for the comment!
Awesome Vid. LOVE setting up camp at Valley of the Gods. We had a little wind last trip but i now see it was merely a breeze compared to yur 80MPH gusts! Wow! Stunning Drone shots on this one. Thank you!

Thanks for the wonderful and informative video!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and leaving us a comment - we really do appreciate it. Happy camping!
Great video. Your story telling and info of the area is one of best on UA-cam in my opinion keep up the good work. 🙂
Thank you very much for the positive feedback, we try to get just a little better each time. Safe travels!

Yes Valley of the gods is great! Thanks for watching ans the comment :)
10:19 the power of wind is incredible

That's some crazy weather. Awesome scenery and love the editing and narration.
Thanks for watching and the comment! Yes crazy weather indeed - risks of traveling in spring i guess :). Safe travels!
thank you for sharing, I've watched your video and I like it.. always success.. greetings one hobby
Thank you! Cheers!
I really enjoyed your commentary and the music is a perfect blend with the video. Thanks for sharing!

Nice stuff!! Brave move to stay out there in wind.

Looks fun!
Welcome aboard Kris! So glad to have you here. Joan is a fantastic neighbor and a great gardener too! Yum :) Thanks for the comment
Oh wow I think we were out in Southern Utah when the crazy windstorm hit too. Crazy!
yeah it was something wasn't it? Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely stunning scenery. That storm looked scary though!
It was scary! But in the end everything was just fine, I bet if those winds were 10 mph higher we would have seen some damage. Thanks for watching :)
Great Vid ! I was out there this past Sept ('23) and pulled my pop up up the Moki to Natural Bridges, parked it and drove back down to the Goosenecks and thru VOG the next day.

Wow another place of stark beauty! Glad you all held together in those fierce winds. Take care out there!
Yes, we questioned whether the trailer was going to stay intact! Luckily it did! Thanks for the comment!
That’s ‘cause Bob takes such good care of your trailer! 😃
