Will there be any change in the sizing, 1/2 sizes? Will the pad sit more flatly on the skate? General strapping change how it fits?
Also why did they settle on those specific angles/specs for the 6.1's vs other configurations. Are there other differences in the 6.1's vs 6's not mentioned in this vid.
On the pads on the knee area there was some sort of plastic thing on the outside, was that just for the showroom or an actual feature to support sliding etc. ?
Are they going to be catch right friendly this time around?
Will there be a price difference between the G6 blocker and glove compared to the 6.1?

The removable palm is a great idea, but I never remove it to wash it. Airing the gear out after every skate with a fan going and dryer sheets is more than enough. I’ve never had to remove the palms and wash them.
I think I’m gonna go with the built in liner that you can’t remove

This was worth the wait. Curious as to why it looks like the knee block looks to be in some kind of plastic casing. Really like that the G6 pad has so many fitting options. Tried a set of G4s and, while they were nice, I couldn't get the fit quite right and frequently fell off the knee block. By Warrior's chart, I should wear a 33+1.5 and I'd regularly fall off the top of the block. I'm using some GT Pros at 34+2 and not having that issue any more (the Trav spec ProLaces might be helping). I like the addition of their version of a professor strap. The "580" looked to have a 75 degree palm, so I may make the switch, as a 90 degree palm feels wrong on my hand.

Video turned out cooler than I thought. I was thinking you were just going to show pictures of gear from a computer screen of Warrior's website. It looked there was a plastic plate over the knee slider. That would glide over ice with hardly any friction.

Really excited to see the G6 line in person, not so much about the Axis 2 to be honest. I'm just glad Warrior finally made a toe bridge and kept the removal palms.

Wow that looks really cool! These guys are always pushing the envelope on innovation. Is that a transparent plastic piece on the outside of the knee block?
I love how the 580 is so well known that he basically translates the 6.1 gloves to that number. Interesting how the 6.1 does not have a removable palm in the catcher. Is the feel that different between a removable palm and a traditional stitched one??

was that plastic cover over the knee board or is that a new slider material? Looks like a protective cover, which strikes me as a great idea for limiting wear
I was curious about this as well. If it is a plastic/vinyl material for sliding, my first thought was that it will crack or become brittle over time. Those of us that wear our pads and leave them in the car over night in -30F weather 😬

In all seriousness, got some Warrior Ritual GT's on clearance a couple years ago and have been loving them. Probably another year or two of life left in them, so will probably end up with G6's on clearance by the time it's time to buy new stuff. Any plans for Warrior to try and get NHL goalies back into their gear? Or are they happy with NHL guys just using the sticks?
But really, I'd love to see another demo day video like you did back in Juniors. Just a yearly update on what's available for each brand.

I was going to nab some G5s last year, but started to catch glimpses of the G6s with Jeremy Smith. My pads are literally being held together with zip ties and stick tape, but I think waiting for the G6s will be well worth it

Wow that looks great!! I really loved my m2 entry level stick already, best entry level stick on the market by far. Pumped that you don’t have to buy custom to get a 580 (I like all white pads so I can use padskins and change it whenever I want) might pick up everything but the blocker, since I still have a G4 and Bauer 2X blocker that I like

My daughter had used warrior gear in net since 2018 she loves them. She just got a new to us 30+1 r/gt set. I know they are older set but don't have the money for 400-500 bucks for my 11 year old. Warrior always makes too notch stuff especially for the kids.

Given the last 4 or 5 Stanley cup winning goaltenders wore Bauer and or CCM and I think one Vaughn I would go with what is proven. Warrior and True just seem like they look good but the quality is lacking. Just my 2 cents.
All the guys who won it wearing CCM had their gear made by the same people who make the True gear. True gear has the best quality of any brand - all hand-crafted by the Lefevre family

Warrior does not have the NHL license for goalie gear except for sticks. That's why you don't see Warrior pads in the show. It's the same for Simmons and JRZ.

@@trav4oilers Exactly I’ve heard wonderful things about warriors pad too. They should at least do something like Bauer to give you an option.
Currently using a g4 pro glove, love it. I'm in a bauer blocker and g4 pads (probably getting SLR 3's though, those look exactly what I want). However, warrior pads have always played well for me and hypercomp, if they rebound like Bauers hmmm.

Love the warrior stuff except their blockers. Even with the warrior GT chesty I don’t have the mobility I want and the board is kind of a tank. Would love to see them add a thin board and more wrist mobility

Would want a (warrior G6) catcher to sit in the sofa and throw a puck into it for relaxation. I got two from my days playing but they smell like the death itself as soon as the slightest heat is applied into it. To answer the question; I'm exicted to see whatever gear you're wearing in the future.

580 warrior glove, I might actually get one . I hate their regular glove LOL.
Also looks like they changed their knee landing to be more standard size and got rid of that stupid angled piece. made the knee craddle way to cramped and very unstable in BF. Everything else i really liked on the G5. I LOVED their blocker. light and very comfortable for me.

Really hyped for the G6, rocking the G5’s now only downside is that the airside was wearing out. But I am getting the new slideplates for free because of that.
Wait we can get those slide plates? My G4s stopped sliding like overnight a couple months ago and I’ve been doing everything to them to try and get them to slide. Silicone and creams and even 3M vinyl tape to make them slide. I have no idea what happened one night I’m sliding into the future the next day it’s as if my knee stacks are 60 grit sand paper. Can you link me to where I can buy the slide plates?
@@duckattak the slide plates should be compatible with g4 and g5 pads as far as I know. The airslide on my pads were wearing out and the leather was starting to peel. So I contacted the store I purchased them from and they contacted warrior. They sent me a mail back and said I will get the new sliding pads and a hoodie for free. With sliding pads I think they ment the slideplates. But I will receive them once the G6 actually launches

how does the glove fit? is palm thinner than g5 or same? how about pocket, is it bigger or same etc? im just wondering if there`s a possibility to make a palm of glove just as small as palm of hand and pocket as big as possible.. wouldn`t it be easier to catch pucks? if i had a chance to personalize my glove i would do this beacause im struggling with catching pucks - they usually pops out after hitting palm of glove instead of going into the pocket. Is it only my problem? Do u Trav have any tip for me about it? I think my glove posision is good enough..

Looks like they are made better than the g 5s. I love the way the g 5 feel, but they feel cheaply made. I had to send a custom set back because the face of the pads had uneven bubbles in it. The second set wasn't perfect either. Hopefully warrior got that out of their system. I also had the G3s and they didn't have air slide, but were manufactured better than the g5s.

@@trav4oilers I’ve found the Ventus to be quite different from the previous velocities I’ve had. Barely feels like I’m wearing anything at all they’re so light
I’m using v9 carbon glove blocker love them but the pads I’m using ve8 rn the strapping system is awful replaced 3 straps and one of the non replaceable Velcro straps won’t stick after half a season probably getting v9 pads

Why is warriors cuff on the backside of the glover so short. I had one and got so many shots on the exposed part of my wrist. On the back of my wrist. Loved the glove but had to go back to ccm.

@@trav4oilers That's a bummer. For the G4s i just got a second , G5 liner to wash and extended the life of them by a while. Was a real difference maker for me. Curious to see why and what new features they added
Would you be able to get a g6.1 glove in a single T, custom? I’ve always wanted to try a 580 since you’ve raved about them but will never go to true (for obvious reasons) and won’t go to ccm, since I have issues with them as well so this is a definite game changer because I know 580 has been primarily ccm or lefevre/true for all of it’s life span
I think I will hopefully try a demo set soon :)
