BBI is definetly a sharp guy, i absolutely love his Vacuum tube videos, I grew up around Father who was a radar engineer for Lockheed aircraft back in the 50's 60's and 70's who was also an Amatuer extra class and had a first class license back in the mid 20's. Dad's vacuum tube power supplies and linears were second to none, BBI has explained to Me what my Dad didn't or couldn't. Your a great guy Sharkey, just discovered you a few day ago, ill say you got a nitch for learning and perfecting this fanntastic hobby.
Much appreciate the many hours you spent learning and teaching. I built amps for a friend for 30 years. Thanks to you and BBI, my addiction has returned. There's an MRF300 breadboard in my future. ENIG plated PCB with adequate stitching, awesome!
MD Sharky Thank You for calm demeanor and detailed explanation on your piece of wizardry . Way to go Dude you nailed this one . 1. Do you have a link to buy your single pallet 2k LDMOS kit ? 2.What else you do recommend, that is essential for a absolute novice to assemble your kit ? I can solder and have a Multi Meter. Once again Great build !
love the LDMOS !! going to run mine at 60V . will be 1 pill 65V 6meter . love the output filter ! only a few out with internal filters. some on BBI videos and gate keeper . they really clean up the amp. remember LDMOS is very sensitive input to the gate . get to a point and parts fly . be very careful with drive .use distilled water will help with corrosion . in a cold place you can use antifreeze check pump specs . we use something like the yellow or gold antifreeze used in auto , in 50KW broadcast transmitter .that has back up pump also .That is tube output AMC .73's
Great job! Sharky, you remind me of myself a Neat Freak and I love it, keep up the good work. You did a good job of showing what you did and how it work, I love all of your videos even from the first one. Take it from the Professor "TECH-NINE" you and my friend BBI A.K.A. Luke are the only videos that I still watch on Amp building, I use to be on UA-cam but I stop uploading my videos in 2016 due to "Haters", so I say again "KEEP IT UP" and good luck on your next project. Tech-Nine Technologies.
Neither You Sharky, You Tech-Nine or BBi should or need to worry about the ignorant "Haters" out there. Results speak for themselves along side of the education you guys have to offer through commentary. Haters look like the idiots they are and actually drive reasonable people to you guys. Nobody ever sees them producing results for the public in anyway let alone quantity. People who are busy "Doing" aren't on forums or UA-cam making 1000s of comments a year. I learned this in my business being available to the public. I dont have time to post about everyone and everything if I was so inclined. And remember, the public is full of stupid people. If nobody is complaining, you're actually doing something wrong!
Is This It For You I have enjoyed this project to see where you came from and what you have achieved in terms of of knowledge of LD moss congratulations brother I am blown away nice job
Thank You For Sharing The List Of " Helping Hands" So To Speak. I Do Believe You Have A Gift/Talent When It Comes To Building Electronic Devices. I Have Saved Most Of Your Video's For Reference And I Imagine For The Simple Reason That Information/Knowledge Is Power And Hopefully It Will Give Me The Power/Knowledge To Build A Few Things For Myself For My Own Use. Thanks Again Sharky Fantastic Build.
Beautiful build! Add one drop, one drop only of regular blue Dawn dish soap to your system. It helps break surface tension and will aid heat transfer a little bit.
Nice clean build. I doubt most people would actually realize how much time / cost it you have invested in that box. And as a 6 meter fanboy, I really appreciate the work you did to kill the harmonics coming out of your amp. Please make sure when selling the pallet kits that the builders buy the LPF too. Have you done a "SSB Two Tone" test on the amp? It would be interesting see IMD (Intermodulation Distortion) numbers.
All WE need (still) is one of these incredibly smart people to want to build these machines for the rest of us. Besides that; wow man, awesome amplifier.
Love The Final Build Sharky, Very Clean Very Professional. Fantastic Job My Friend. I Definitely Have Interest In A Kit/Pallet That You Might Come Up With. Love The 100% Duty Cycle Factor. I Don't Know Anyone That Builds Like That. Mostly Shootout Boxes That Are Good For 60-90 Seconds Tx And 5 Minutes Rx. Love The Fact That I Could Rag Chew For 10-15 Minutes Every Time I Step On That Loud Pedal 😁 Yes I'm A Long Winded Mo-Fo 😁🤣😆
That thing is as much a piece of art as it is an amp. I should be in a see through case. What would you estimate the top end power if it was a wide band amp? 160m to 6m.
Amazing job Sharkey ! I would also like to see about a Kit that you might possibly put together in order to build one of those 4 Device LD Moss setups ?
That’s what Anderson connectors are actually designed for, that’s why there are mounting holes on the connector. Just the fact that most guys use them for DC quick disconnects on amps. 73
Great build, MudDuck. With respect to "pallet kits", might I hope you make a 1 LDMOS, all HF ham band , with SSB capability. I will buy one. (Just sayin').....Have a great week.
wilkinson combiner it looks like on the output...Lumped....from picking from a LC, Hybrid Coupler or A Wilk for 11m i thought the wilk would be best and I think it is so dang sweet to see one on an ldmos amp. IMAZING THAT those chips can handle that....I was thinking I would have to use some door knobs if I tried a wilk combinner. Would love to hear what type they are. and a LC on the input :) Genius....I love how humble you are bud.....Remind me a lot of someone: ) keep on rolling with it buddy I have a feeling you are a pure natural at this. - Gatekeeper
@@SpaceMan575 i would love to hear what you got to do with your dual ldmos I did for you. I never heard anything from ya bud? Haller at me with a text or something if you get a chance.
Hey does anyone one know how to wire a arbitrary function generator into a radio to get it to mod with out putting the microphone on a 1040 bk precision service master?
I had to pick up the calc on this video.i was guessing that at that power level harmonic level could still be a watt or more.more like 10 mw. Lol.cant complain about that one.lol.
Actually it's very safe to run it like that as long as your negative peaks are no more than 99% what you just did there is just add the asymmetric on the positive side and you probably did about close to 200% on the positive peaks more like 165% on the positive peaks so completely normal completely safe now the question is what is the carrier power out of the radio the Carrier drive is very important on ldmos devices
The motor mouth modulator is basically an asymmetrical unit that is wired to modulate the audio directly into the finals nothing special nothing out of this world and it gets the job done and it bypasses all the microphone circuitry filtering that's original in the radio so that way you have a flat response throughout the audio frequencies in other words now it became a true am radio high level modulation and the depending on your positive peaks depending of what that amplifier shall do
Will be eagerly waiting for your pallet kit.
This IS your Master's Thesis Congratulations. This is a Beautiful piece of art.
Absolutely INSANELY Impressive!!!!
Excellent work Sharky. Nice build, neat, clean and extremely efficient. Keep the hobby going.

Very nice!! Wish I had enough to bribe one out of ya... LOL... But I will be looking for pallets..
Nice build Sharky, and I’m glad you’re gonna provide some pallets to the community, keep up the good work and keep having fun brother. 73
Let us know when the kits are ready! or if you can point me in the direction for build an LDMOS box for HF
Congratulations. A very clean and cool design!
I've seen some really clean work in my time. But son your first actual build and tune is just mind blowing! Thanks for amp porn!!!

So those small white strips are the actual LDMOSFETS ? what a labor of love a real work of art sir beautiful.
Question: tye input power needed. If you can fully drive 1 ldmos pallet with 4 or 5 w you will need double that for 2 pallets and 4 times for 4?
really good and clean work! Beautiful to see all this stuf! all the best from Croatia! 9A3RU-Željko

Sharky, Thank you for sharing your insight. Don’t forget your other mandate. TV and Broadcast. Lol. Prices less info…Ty
Hey MDS, beautiful build, so impressive. Do you need to drive all four RF decks in phase for the summing to work in the combiner?
Cale, Is there much difference between the water temp going into the first and last pallets?
Hello, Really all my congratulations on this superb achievement. What type of LDMOS are used on these pallets ? Good day to you from F4cxo.
Gotta be MRFX1k80 because of 65Vdc input.
soooo beautiful!!!!
D.I.Y. EXTREME. THANK YOU.

Cant wait for you to get a kit out there! I'll buy one!
Sir you are a genius, would love to run your technology one day.
Curious , Why not coolant when Water evaporates.
I would also be in on one of your pallet kits, what are all the bands this will cover? One of the cleanest output boxes I have ever seen good job!
It's a thing of beauty, I wish I could afford one of those.
What did you do to your finger?
How did you panel mount that Anderson connector?

Oh man pallet kit would awesome!
Sir what is the peak power of this aparatus? or what do you safely run at?
How much would it cost to get the blueprints to build that box?
Depends on the reason you're asking.
@@MudDuckSharky I’d like to build one for personal use. Wouldn’t produce.
very nice amp. well done.
Do you make complete Amps for people?
Do you make a 2 device pallet
great work very nice!!!
nice harmonic suppression on that.... honestly water cooling an amp is something i am interested in.
Back to the bench?
Now that’s so COOOOOOOL 😳😃
Are you using deionized water or a additive in it???
Distilled with some additives.
Fantastic job!
What a clever bloke 👍
super nice! were did you get the rf pallet? thanks
Very nice stuff. I am a Ham and this is really impressive! You are not an appliance operator!
Cool channel. Nice mullet!
Thank you Sharky
Nice work and a wonderful shout out to all the others.
Ibuilt something similar it does 1400w first time building an amp I spent about $300 on it

I have a question, is it all only on 27 MHz, SQ4FXU
Amen to the SimSmith / NanoVNA comment!

No formal education. I've studied a lot of the same materials I would have in school though.
