That’s really what happened to him. He got older, and during his 20s at that. You mature a lot at this point in your life. Some faster than others. Maybe he was just a late bloomer in that aspect. The part where he said I’m just gonna become what everyone is saying I am. Meaning controversial. He was still trying to find his identity, and when he made that mistake In Tokyo he started to mature from there. I think it was a wake up call for him for sure.
I still remember the day the vlog came out. I had been subscribed to Logan for maybe 6 months at that point and had been watching his vlogs daily. I was a freshmen in high school so his loud, obnoxious behavior, although I could tell that, was proper for me at the time. I remember coming home from school and seeing he had uploaded a video. I had been watching the video thinking everything was fine and he was just being his loud self. I thought it was odd for him and his friends to go into that particular forest (given its reputation), but kept watching. Either he or one of his friends pointed out the body of someone who had ended their life. That’s when everything came crashing down. They were talking about seeing the body and then… showed the man (may he Rest In Peace). At that exact moment, I paused the video, unsubscribed, closed UA-cam, and just sat in my room soaking in what I just saw. I was 14 at the time. I was confused and sad and questioning how anyone would think that could be okay. I will probably remember the shock and reality shift I experienced from that day for a long time. I’m sure non of you care, but I thought I would share my point of view.

There was a time, I liked those two, when I was a young boy back in 2016. Simple, he did the work. Publicists can only do so much to clean up your act, and quite frankly many publicity stunts and rebrandings don't last cause it's too much work. His new image has lasted cause he's reflected on his addiction to attention and realised that he needed to change. Kudos to him.
So this is an interesting thing: He and Jake used to make UA-cam videos under the UA-cam channel name “Zoosh” which I used to watch as a kid making videos kind of similar to Smosh and Ryan Higas videos.
