i have been yelling for ages that them using that song for simon's death ~also~ applied to how raphael was feeling. the lyrics fit him better imo and clary/jace don't know that simon being kidnapped ~wasn't~ a hellscape. they don't know a lot of things when it comes to them which is why clary underestimates raphael's importance in simon's life.
