Very thorough thanks I'm working with my optometrist for further research
I woke up today with a white spot on my iris. I went in immediately and it was an ulcer. I'm taking antibiotic eye drops every hour. Hopefully it heals. 🙏
@Aisyah Zamn The drops were Ofloxacin, and it took a month until I could put a contact back in. Which was surprising because I was told I caught it very early. It was a small, almost pen point white dot. A whole month with only one contact was a horrible experience. Im never sleeping with contacts ever again.
I just checked out the hospital last night they gave me drops and scripts for a cream that look like Vaseline and some drops
@@chelseamarie2218 hope it heals quick!
@@TarePandaHelp can I know... When is u start using oxfloxacin... Just during the day time? Like 8am ?
@Kamal I put in a drop every hour for 2 days (not when i sleep). Then 3 times a day for 3 1/2 weeks .
I just got one 2 days ago and it’s very uncomfortable. I also noticed my eye is sensitive to bright light and it aches. I noticed it when I took a photo of my eye and that’s what prompted me to go to urgent care.
Hi, may I know how your eyes today? it was the same case with my mother. hopefully, she get better.
almost lost vision in my right eye. luckily doctors saved it.
how did they save it? operation?
I have the same thing in my right eye. What did they do to repair your eye because I have leakage drainage and it’s very irritating. I’m trying to find a way so that I can feel better.
@@mrbulletproofxXx I was fortunate to have caught it very early so they gave me steroids and a couple different drops that I had to put in every hour for a couple weeks. Luckily no surgery was needed.
I have this problem due to my Bell’s palsy but I got this few months back and it has gone in 3-4 days but this time redness is still present for last 15 days
what’s the best cleaner for scleral lenses today? the cleaner i used to use is no longer available. i have an ulcer now.
Thanks 🙏🏽
I just got treated for one of these and it was HORRENDOUS. Had an abrasion on top of it, which made it extra awful. Thankfully felt better after a day of the drops.
Wonderful!!! Thank you Dr. D.!!!
I have this right now and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The pain is excruciating. It's been almost a week and I still have the feeling that something is in my eye. The eye cream and eye drops don't seem to help much
Me same🥺🥺☹️☹️ its really painful i am suffering conrnia ulcar from 5 years.
I have a corneal ulcer right now is there anything that fixed your eye back ?????
@@chelseamarie2218 the only thing to heal is is time unfortunately. It was a couple of weeks before I felt ok again
@@KevinBrady92 can you see now out the eye that had the ulcer ????
@@chelseamarie2218 yes I can. My vision was a bit blurred for a few weeks after but it's fine now. It will probably never be 100% perfect again but it's a lot better
It can occur on teenagers?
You didn't mention RK or Lasix scars opening up into an ulcer. This happened to me after 20 years of healed. Perhaps from dry eye? I almost lost my sight and the infection is gone but the ulcer just won't heal after 4 years. It's scary to think it can get infected again at any moment.
I am now age 45. From age 12, I started to have reocurring corneal ulcers. Age 12 to 15, doctors didn't explain to my mom and myself what it was. Through the years, saw several doctors and many different eye drops were prescribed. At age 13, I learnt I am allergic to MAXITROL eye drops. At first doctors thought was puberty and acne. It was s0ome kind of rash on my face. Was terrible for a 12, 13 year old. Fast forward to present, I must have tobradex eye drops just in case my eyes "act up". I always use eye lubricant. I have been told I have corneal ulcers, keratitis, anterior ocular disease. Usually my right eye gets one ulcer or two first. Then my left eye. Most times it's a few ulcers. I have yet to meet someone that have this same reocurring corneal ulcers. I never got an explanation about the cause. Never used contact lenses, started to use prescription glasses from age 24, was not in any accident that may have affected my eyes. I honestly thought is my own body creating the ulcers.
@Aisyah Zamn I have been using Tobradex for approximately 20 to 25 years now. In the last 10 years, I have used tobradex a lot less. Not as often. I am am not working a regular job. Working at home now. Stay out of traffic and sun more now than 10 years ago.
same here recurring corneal ulcer since last 5 years in every 6 months ,smtimes 9 months but its recurring...
I’d absolutely love to hear about your experience in further detail with your use of Tobradex, because I too, at age 28 am experiencing recurring corneal ulcers and have yet to have any information as to the root cause, after a myriad of testing. Unfortunately, my left eye perforated due to unresolved ulcerative scars from prior ulcers, and am now going through a complete lifestyle change after being told similar things: “it’s your acne, it’s your rosacea” but nothing more. Any time my eyes were to act up, I was given Tobradex as a bandaid, but I truly believe that’s been the cause of all of this to begin with. I too have yet to find someone who has had a similar case, and it would be amazing to have someone to talk to.
@@Crystal676777 use lubricating eyedrops eevery 3 hrs and clean eyelashes every night before sleep for corneal scars...only one way is it should heal naturally.....

Have this for over my lifetime, when im yoing my right eye there wasn't any scarring only cataract. As i grow the scarring in my right kept getting worse, it almost cover the middle and bottom of my eye, my parents(especially my mother) thought my condition came from my father's family part, we're also poor, so they stop coming through eye doctors to check my right eye since.
This is terrible what is happening now ????
I can’t even open my eyes now 😊 they said I needed 3 😮 cream and drops my vision has hind grey

How are you doing? Have you gotten better?
Mine took 30 days+ for it to go away. About 7 days for it to be noticeably smaller.
@@TarePandaHelp what about the vision still blirry

Can we still go for lasik after having a corneal ulcer
Never
I have had now for month. Mine is caused by my rheumatoid arthritis
Me too.
I have this in the center of my eye it's big won't go away I got it after infection from contact lenses I use eye drops and the eye does not hurt any more infection is stopped but the white spot won't go and I can't see on one eye it's now almost 3 weeks
I hope it got better?
@@sheco97 i still have white spot in the center of cornea and blurry vision
I have this as of now, worst thing about this is i work from home and looking on a bright screen reduces my time and effort during work. so far i have been given some antibiotics and make drops every hour.
Honestly this is the worst feeling in world
Me too I’m working from home 😢

This sound’s like blepharitis + dry eyes but it’s not right??
It is not! But many of the symptoms especially initially may be the same
@@EyeSchoolwithDrD ok
I think i have one. I always forget taking out my disposable contact lenses before going to bed and now I’ve developed a white dot on my cornea and my eye is very red, puffy and runny + sensitive to light (I get headaches and my eye throbs and tears up). I have a doctors appointment soon I think, I’m underage so my parents had to fix it for me but I read online that sometimes you have to have a corneal transplant!
😍
Hi, I usually sleep in my contact lenses, for at least 4 months now. Woke up this morning with red watery eye on the left eye.
Am going to see my optometrist tomorrow.
It is itchy but not painful, just irritating 😢
Praise you and this video
Freaked me out a bit and I went immediately to the hospital
Couldve lost my eye due to a bacterial infection and ulcer that I thought was just conjunctivitis. Give me your address and I will "mow your yard" for a year...
