In this review, like others, they bring up the wind buffeting present in the two intermediate closed convertible top positions. To anyone owning one of these who hasn't discovered this: you can put your hand on the top centre part of the windshield frame and feel a plastic tab that slides side-to-side. Moving it over locks/unlocks a net that moves up to eliminate the wind buffeting problem in the intermediate roof positions. I keep mine down when the roof is all the way down for more wind a sunshine, and raise it up in the intermediate positions to not have wind buffeting.
I just bought one, same car as this, same colors. I took it on I-71 the first day, ran it 85MPH no problem -- it didn't even break a sweat. In the city you can park this thing in any available space easily. He didn't point out that in sport mode (auto trans) it shifts more aggressively, and it's easy to keep up with the traffic. The auto trans has paddle shifting -- keep the RPMs up to 2000 to 2500 and it has plenty of power -- don't lug the engine. I run mine on regular gas and it's just fine -- don't know why he said premium -- nothing in the owners manual about that.
Look on your gas cap. It says it’s recommended 91 but it can take 87. I’ve had foreign cars before eventually it might mess it up. 91 runs out a lot slower better performance.
Well, I don't think those two seaters are terrible at all. Most drivers I see drive by themselves in their 5+ cars/suvs. Smaller cars are more efficient than larger cars, that's pretty much a given.
Question: What is the point of all that HP in other cars? You can only go the speed limit. This car makes it waaaay more fun getting there than behemoth 300hp+ cars. Highway driving? This car works perfect. have a 75km (nearly 50 miles round trip commute to work on a highway with a speed limit of 110 km/ (nearly 70mph) and this car holds it own! At 110 the rpm is only at 2800 and step on it and it passes anything quickly and easily. He never drove it on a highway.
FIAT is car made for Italy, when you have been in Italy you realize that this car is the best for their narrow roads, besides it almost never snows in Italy.... You are a nice man but in my humble opinion this car is much to little for you. Beware of an accident in this Fiat with you inside. Here in Europe I pay almost two Dollars for a litre of Diesel, but you in America pay less than 5 Dollars per gallon of petrol...and your distances are much, much greater... So why not buy a bigger and more secure car for America...the USA has over 9 million square kilometres, Canada not included so there is a lot to explore...and you might also be able to sleep in your car...God bless you.
pretty good car, i have a 2009 model & its nice.. u r right there about the thing- its more about styling rather than driving experience more of a city car than highway. good review!
I see you're in Toronto which is where i live but even though i'm mainly in the city i do go on the highway quite a bit to visit family/friends so is this not a suitable car? i'm stuck between this and the mini countryman or paceman.
3% of the market in america, more like 60% in almost every other country. Hybrids are shit, diesels are the best for economy and the environment atm and the 500 is still better than a prius
I love my sports cars, hot hatches, or simply fast cars but man I would drive this thing for looks a lone. Would I buy one? No lol but if my gf owns one I might take it out...at 3am where no one can see me haha.

What about reliability?

He never drove it on a highway.
This guy tries out a very small car and then complains of a lack of space. He should get a life.
Just bought the Gucci edition!! I’m so in love

As a side note, I do enjoy your reviews.

Toronto had great weather but that didn't keep the bad drivers away ;)
"it's gonna be luxurious because it's a fiat" aaaahahahahahahaha :D
WOW SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY AGREES WITH ME WHO KNEW
Can you review the 500 abarth?. Please and Thank you.
no responds 7 years later
They should make them hybrids, and small cars are better because of low maintenance and easier to park
I really want this car just for the sake of parking space.
A Prius isn't a Mid-Sized sedan.
It's a compact hatchback.
The Prius V is midsized.
The car guys theme music?
I don’t use premium gas on mine

still 5 start safety
miniature cage...slightly higher chance of motorcyclist survival
Hmmm, I can understand if yo need premium gas in a sports car, but why the hell do you need it in car like this? It doesn't make any sense to me...
Dude have you driven a prius? they drive like complete shit, try a 500 they drive far better
100hp and drinks premium fuel. Sorta a fail right there....
Nice car
Hybrids cost way more
Overpriced, too cutesy, too expensive. Poplin North American like the fiat but its too small for ppl to actually consider buying one.
I just wonder when we put sex gender dynamics onto a vehicle that has no say for itself
i want one :C
do you still have it
get a goddamned motorcycle
Beats not bose 😊
