@@jorgechavarria4799 ... there's a time and place for everything: "not now" is not the same as "never". Having to explain this feels so strange, so I will add a clarification: Aloy is not shy and/or weak, she would have zero problem saying something like "No, never, and fuck off". The simple fact she is leaving that specific door open is telling.

Emotions aside, can we all agree that Avad’s little brother playing around in the background is so cute!?? Its so nice to see him having fun and being a kid instead of being forced to be a puppet king for the Shadow Carja
I was so relieved to see him and Nasadi so happy in this scene after how we found them in HZD. Poor little guy looked so scared and tired. Even his expression when Avad greets him and Nasadi back is a mixture of fear and hope.
@@aeriamamaduck Shadow Carja probably told him that the evil usurper would have killed him on sight because he was the real heir of Jiran. It's good to see that time and love have dissipated such fear, and Itamen is now so at ease, relaxed and lively (and Avad so proud of his brother)
yes that was my favorite part of the quest line; fighting to save the precious little kiddo so he can enjoy his childhood.

Their facial expressions are so good. the eyes, the face, the voice, all very realistic and I can feel the emotion from the dialogue. Such an enjoyment watching the cutscenes in Horizon Forbidden West. It makes the game feels alive, not only the combat.
Yeah agreed
They improved drastically, I love it so much.
a huge improvement to zero dawn, where half of the characters didn't have faces and didn't even lip-sync
It was the body language that got my attention in this scene.
@@gamerstheater1187 it's a feat in open world gaming. Not just zero dawn. I just platinumed the game and i gotta say, the graphic detail of this game is unparalleled.

Honestly I'm on Team Erend, but I love watching Avad trying his best and being so respectful towards her temperament. It tells about the good man he is. I wish he find a proper partner too.
I must admit that Aloy is shipped with any character among the main ones, with whom she falls in love, I will be happy either way
I agree with Aloy though. He's really just looking for a replacement for Ersa.
@@kayleeblack4303 that's true. But I think that he has more chances since the last time they talk. Who knows. 🥴

Erend is cool and initially better suited to Alloy's lifestyle, but he drinks too much.
Regardless, she is still a teenager and should travel the world some more before spawning little kings.
He should waith 7 - 10 years imo.
I really like how even in the heart option, it’s not really a “yes”. I very much enjoyed the fact that in the first game, and this one as well, Aloy seemed wholly indifferent to any type of romantic relationships. It just makes way more sense for her character.
It reminds me of the scene in Harley Quinn when Kite Man tries to propose to Ivy, she doesn’t really answer and his reaction is “Not a no. Hell Yeah!”
They've added a LGBT romance in the DLC though
@@ElPopeSmoke 🙄 Ah yes, the obligatory genuflection to the Alphabet Cult 😏

i kinda think she just might be gay..
You know, from an exiled Child to biggest Hero in the World any maybe even Queen, that would actually be a impressive Story for one being. And both working together to untite all the tribes? It would actually fit them both and the Game.
I know that this is a speculative feel-good scenario, but the idea of "uniting" all tribes doesn't sound so great when you consider the possibility of a centralized highest autonomy that holds many cultures with diverse and contrasting values. That kind of setting would always create a sharp dissent and discrimination, if not during Avad's time, then later. I prefer the idea that they could jumpstart a peaceful coexistence and more exchange of knowledge.
@@hansalanson3497 Actually, with uniting i did mean exactly what you said and not all of the difference Tribes becoming one.
Strickly speaking, Avad would probably give up the throne prior to marrying her if it came to that simply for political reasons if nothing else. Plus at this point Queen of one tribe would almost be a demotion for her at this point and I don't think she would be keen on being tied down to the politics of it. One of Aloy's greatest strengths is her neutrality and how easily it allows her to connect with all the tribes.
I don't think it would fit them both, nor the game. First, it's more likely for Avad to give up the throne to be with Aloy than she becoming the Queen of the Carja and living by their traditions, especially if you consider she has very little patience to the tribal dogmas of her world.
Secondly, Aloy always rejects that kind of acknowledgment, she rejected being the anointed of her own tribe and doesn't like to be called the savior of Meridian, so I don't think being a "Queen" would fit her better. You could say that as Queen of the Carja she would be able to influence more and make bigger changes, but even so, she already has achieved those as a young Nora huntress.
@@TheKungas How come everyone reads whatever they want from my Comment instead of it's actual meaning?
You literally don't need your Second Point if you did read my Comment. I never said it would fit her better. I said It would fit them. Of course that doesn't mean it would fit her and him better then their actual Goals. So just to make sure Guys, no need to worry about that. I am just saying i wouldn't mind that outcome for her and him.
I can’t stand to see Aloy being mean to Avad. He’s one of Horizon’s best boys 😭
tbf, the man really is need of learning boundaries, and if you didn't as a child, as an adult unfortunately you don't learn boundaries by people being nice to you. At the same time i can't blame him. Given him being the son of a tyrannical king and now the reigning monarch, Avad is probably as stunted socially as Aloy, with everyone in his life besides his older brother and Ersa + the vanguard either being an ass-kisser, out to use him, not respecting boundaries like his father didn't, or afraid of him. He's also rebounding from Ersa, which is a natural response as well. That was why i chose the pragmatic option with him in both games. He is humble and smart enough that he gets the message, but you don't have to be cruel about it.
@@skrubknight884 agreed. I was largely neutral with him too. In my head canon, Aloy could imagine herself exploring “something” with Avad, but not before she’s carried out her purpose. That said, she wouldn’t be cruel about it as you stated. Although honestly, I also see Aloy hooking up with Nil too. ;)
Aloy's always been... like... completely disgusted by Nil and his bloodlust. There's no way she'd hook up with him.
With Avad, she'd always be very mindful that she's filling a hole left by Ersa's death. She'd probably always be concerned that he's not seeing her for her. I think she'd need years of friendship before she felt comfortable with it becoming romantic.
That said... it would seem really out of character to me for Aloy to be harsh about it. She always struck me as someone who was made kind by the cruelty of others.
@@caffeinedelusions b-but…he’s so pretty… She can tie him up, gag him, and have her way with him. And we all know Nil would 100 percent consent to that lol 😂
He's pretty the way poison arrow frogs are pretty. Those bright markings are there to call out that he'll probably kill her if he thinks it'd be even a little bit fun.
If Aloy were one for bad boys that mistreat her, she'd have shown it with Bast. Instead, I'd say she came closer to hitting it off with Vala.
I'll be honest, Aloy seems too much like a workaholic to focus on romance like Elizabet was. She could possibly suffer the same fate as Elizabet by dying before settling down. But if they give Aloy a possible chance of romance in the next game, I would prefer it to be player choice. Mainly because we don't really know which side of the fence she plays on. She could play on both sides for all we know and I rather have the player make that choice for themselves rather than having a definitive answer.
It would actually be a nice thing not just for the player also for the character, player choice would admittedly make it more interesting too. In the end, I think it would give Aloy the chance to do and experience what her predecessor and practically mother figure never got to do. A chance to live and love, to experience life and love in a way that Elizabet never fully did. In all honesty, I think it would be a full circle ending for her regardless of who she chooses to be with in the end. Though I'll admit the idea of her and Avad does sound appealing to me personally.
Indeed, if romance is forced on the player then they should also be given a wide pick to chose from to be fair for ALL.
At this point it’s pointless since she doesn’t want any1 near her for not losing her own friends and even falling in love...
@@archivalmars236
Tldr: It'd make sense even without player choice. You don't roleplay with Aloy, you roleplay AS Aloy
even if they don't make it a player choice option, it still works with the character. Aloy is like a mini geralt (generally). Every option & choice is true to Aloy, you just choose which part she expresses. With that in mind, we know she WANTS to settle down, & plays with the idea of settling with different people, but chooses not to foster those relationships because she needs all her focus on saving the world (like Elizabeth). Unless she sacrifices herself, Aloy gets to live in the world she saved.
@@narrowstone5363 Hmm, good point... Now that I think about it, the way the game goes about her story the mechanic really is almost like the Witcher games. But still, I feel like showing her foster a relationship period would be showing her living in a way that Elizabeth never got to completely do. Kind of like grow beyond her mother figure in a way but that's just me.
Hey, at least we are able to return some affection here with the heart option, unlike how Aloy never has the option to even acknowledge certain characters hitting on her in the first game...
Yeah it was stupid kinda.
she lived for 19 years with just one father figure. why do you think she’d understand social cues? frankly it’s a miracle she’s as sociable as she is.

I like how we get at least a chance to show back some affection. People can be sure that I did.. I'm a low-key shipper, been since Zero Dawn. He damn straight had a thing for her already back then. Go Avad.
Personally I'm kinda put off by this because in-universe Avad only lost his girlfriend a year ago and is now trying to have a relationship with someone who has more then a little in common with Ersa. I'm not against the ship I just wish more than 6 months had passed between games. Though I'll admit I'm bias because I see Aloy as Asexual and would like to have the option to play her as such.
@@Winter-The-Masquerade I don't think GG will ever force any romance storyline with Aloy; at best, they'll give us these little moments where we have the option of accepting/refusing another character's affections. Maybe at the end of the final game, if Aloy's still alive, these flashpoint dialogues will (finally) come into play and determine her fate (whether she lives as a hermit, or with someone she likes, etc).
Don't want to spoiler much, but it seems Sobek was kinda homosexual or bi. Maybe Aloy is the same. I hope that the third game will be more open to our own choices, so we can decide with whom Aloy will be with. I personally would have a hard time to choose between Avad and Erend to be honest. Erend turns into something like her best friend in Forbidden West and Avad is just some to-the-ground-type of guy who's just a good counterpart for Aloy. I'm still more for Erend.
@@Foxy4Love i think alloy proved she isnt sobek. There is this nature vs nurture plot with the beta, sobek and alloy triangle. Basically beeing homosexual isnt just genetic.

Team Kotallo for the win. Its actually the only male character that is not either dead or turned into a good boi puppy.
I had to scroll down to find this comment ... Kotallo all the way!!
I’m team nobody (as I have trouble imagining Aloy with anybody) and yeah those were harsh. I chose the brain one and felt bad about it.
Team Kotallo here too! I feel like their dry humor and wits pair well together, they also can relate on being outcast for things out of their control. I was team Avad in HZD, but in HFW, Kotallo's the one. They need to add a quest for a seashell!
HUG MEEEE 💕💕💕 i love Kotallo sO MUCHHH 😍
From a writing perspective, this absolutely feels like it's setting up something for the endgame, and I REALLY hope they follow through with it. Avad would be an -amazing- love interest for Aloy, for the fact alone that he isn't interested in anything but her as she is. He doesn't want to tie her down or force her to be anything she isn't, and he's always been supportive of her doing her own thing. He's attracted to her physically, clearly - but he also clearly likes her spirit and her fire, which are two things she's always been criticized for. And imagine this Nora outcast, who was basically shunned into adulthood becoming the literal Q U E E N of Meridian. What an insanely amazing clapback at the Nora tribe LOL. Also the fact that they're setting up Itamen to rule in his place... It works so well, because it implies he's preparing himself to travel the world -with- her, if she doesn't want to settle down. I was on board with Varl and Aloy in the first game, but I like this so much better (and not just for obvious reasons that would be spoilers XD)
Avad does seem like an ideal romantic, falling in love with Aloy for who she is, not caring about social status, and being brave enough to court her while being humble enough to show how nervous he is.
I'm pretty sure Avad only likes Aloy because he was into/with Ersa, that's what my conclusion was in the first game and I don't think that changed
@@GLITCHED1 In the first place, yes. I'd agree at the start it was definitely her similarities to Ersa... but I think from a narrative POV his feelings for her have deepend to something more genuine for her for sure.
Avad or Talanah are the only romances I'll accept.
You're right, he would be a fantastic love interest for Aloy.
@@erinjoyner3739 I'm not sure I mean it has only been 6 months, and most of those 6 months she has been gone. Apart from the battle of the alight where she also barely spent time with her. Aloy and Avad have had no chance to actually get together and sit down for a chat, which is why I think Erend would be the more logical option for a love interest for Aloy, Erend has always been there and fought at her side since he knew she existed and is and overall good guy, all we know about Avad is that he loved Ersa (not to forget that he told Aloy that she is a lot like Ersa multiple times) and that he is the sunking. Don't get me wrong I like Avad, just not as a love interest for Aloy, for that I'd rather go with Erend.
I like Itamen just dancing with his stick in the background
i don't know if anyone else noticed but after i started a new game+ and watched this scene again after seeing how aloy was throughout the whole game with erend or kotallo or anyone else, i can tell there is something different about aloy when she is talking to avad. it definitely feels like she has feelings for him too because of the way she laughs at all his jokes, how she blushes and smiles shyly when he compliments her or talks about marriage which is not like her at all, aloy is anything but shy.. so if they add in a romance storyline for the 3rd game and if they don't let us choose who aloy ends up with then i hope they will make aloy and avad endgame because i think avad's calm and collected character complients aloy's fiery and bold personality a lot and he's alwasy been very respectful and kind towards her, they fit together well tbh and also i love how he's eager to give up the crown to travel to the ends of the earth with her
EXACTLY
Totally agree! ❤
Couldn´t have said it any better... 100% agree.
He is the only one, where you, as a player, can faintly but still obviously see her acting differently around him (nervous, flattered, shy).
With others she is friendly, neutral, annoyed or disgusted. Not here, as you said.
I love all the characters, so no insults, but regarding love
Erend is so lovely but too crude,
Kotallo is a reliable, loyal, strong mate but nothing more,
Talanah, Petra and Alva are dear friends.
Nil..... no words....
Avad instead matches not just physically, but also intellectually and concerning the character.
So, i fully agree unless they are going to introduce a new person in H3 that is even a bigger bomb ^^
YEAH TEAM AVAD ❤
Well said!!! 👏👏👏
I always pick the 'heart' option for Aloy coz would feel super bad picking the 'fist' option especially since Avad is such a nice guy☺️
in zero dawn, I was happy that aloy did not have a romantic interest, I always thought of her as asexual since she wasn't the most comfortable when people did flirt with her. this scene with avad totally changed my mind and I instantly fell in love with their relationship. he respects her as she is. he wouldn't have any romantic or sexual expectations of her. he loves her and wants to be with her. as an asexual person myself, avad would be my dream partner. someone who loves me as I am.
As a fellow ace, I totally agree, though I did already ship them in the first game, too.
I'm demi and Avad is definitely who I would want for Aloy ever since the first game came out. He's respectful and devoted. I could see him as a quiet solace for her.
@@oopsgingermoment Not to mention I think he was one of the few characters in the first game that Aloy always had a smile on her face when talking to.
I totally agree. Same opinion and I'm glad that I am not the only person haha
Seems to be a thing that female playable characters don’t have love interests. If they do they’re usually the homosexual types.
If you played as a male, you probably would have a few
I'd like to see Aloy end up with Avad by the end of the 3rd installment. With Erend I get more brother sister vibes. I know he likes her, but I don't feel like she has ever looked at him the same way he looks at her. With Avad, just in this scene you can see the emotional struggle Aloy has at even the thought of entertaining the idea of staying with him. Can't wait for part 3 already lol 😂😂😂
It’s so obvious they like each other 😂
no, Aloy should be single, single life is the best life
@@gamerstheater1187 and you're free to have that "opinion" as this is mine. 😉👍
Well sobeck was gay and aloy is her clone.....
@@RowenawhiteThe game never says she was gay. Only leads us to think that. She may have been bisexuality. Also I went to school with a set of identical twin sisters and if you are fimiliar with biology you know that it is basically the same thing. One egg splits into two. They share everything right down to the exact genetic DNA code. One is gay and the other is straight, married and has 3 kids. Just because Aloy is a clone doesn't mean she is going to have the same thing trigger in her brain that triggered in Sobecks that attracted her to the same sex or the opposite sex or hell even any sex for that matter haha.
The way Avad says how he feels about her really pushes the Ersa thing. Like far l it makes it feel like Avad was only friends or attracted to Ersa's strength bc he DID not react this way when she died a little solemn but that is all. I feel he likes Aloy more than Ersa. He thought about for 6 months and wasn't interested in any of other choice of courting.
I think thats because he knew he could never be with Ersa because of the cultural chaos that would come about so he wasnt as invested in being with Ersa as he can be with Aloy. Savior of Meridian, annointed of the Nora. Shes strong, godlike to others, and worshipped, thats a big green light for Avad that he can actually be with someone he is attracted to and the public wouldnt be so outraged
Spoiler if you haven't done Talanah's quest in Forbidden West:
Talanah's complicated romantic relationship with Amadis is like a parallel to Aloy's relationship with Avad because Amadis' old girlfriend is in a sense, "dead" and Talanah tells Aloy that Amadis still has feelings for his old girlfriend and that Amadis may never let his old girlfriend go. Maybe in time, "who knows. All I know is there's no one quite like him...it's easier to fight a Thunderjaw." Aloy tells her, "That sounds...complicated". Talanah's tells her, "One day you'll know what I mean". Aloy responds with , "I don't..." getting up suddenly and walking away with her back turned to Talanah so Talanah wouldn't see that she's reacting to "one day you'll know what I mean" exactly the way she reacted when Avad was flirting with her before this video (Blinking rapidly & flirtatiously). Talanah answers with, "That's what I used to say," a sign that Aloy's romantic relationship with Avad is already like Talanah's romantic relationship with Amadis, that Avad is still not completely over Ersa, but Aloy's still in love with him and not giving up on him.
@@deyliramirez382 I caught this parallel when I did Talanah’s quest as well. I thought hang on… this sounds familiar? A will they/won’t they just like Aloy and Avad.
The expressions and reactions are very thought out in this game, it’s telling Aloy get’s flustered and shuts it down quickly. Perhaps she is not ready for that with everything going on just yet.
It’s interesting at any rate.
@@laurenduff5737 Yeah! Another really neat little thing Guerrilla adds that shows Aloy isn't ready yet to date Avad with everything that's going on, but she really wants to is if you defeat The Enduring. Spoiler if you haven't defeated The Enduring yet:
The Enduring asks Aloy if she can take a look at Aloy's spear (The shiny spear Avad gifted to her with the matching tiara). Soon after the Enduring starts examining the spear (just bringing the shaft near so she can see the detailwork), Aloy lets out a very flustered and anxious, "Careful!" and reaches out instinctively to take it back (I haven't heard her sound this anxious since Aloy tells Avad she would like to see him again in the Heart Option).
The Enduring pauses and looks at her suspiciously, then says, "Hmm. Pretty thing" (about the spear), meaning that she can tell Aloy isn't the type to pick a weapon with fancy detailing, and the fact that Aloy can't even let people look at it closely without getting very anxious and wanting to take it back means that it's a gift from Aloy's love interest.
You know how women during the Middle Ages gave their boyfriends and husbands that went to war white handkerchiefs to remind their boyfriends and husbands of them & as a promise to see them again? That's basically what's happening here, except it's the guy (Avad) who is giving the girl (Aloy) a spear and tiara to remember him by and as promise to see each other again. I think that's pretty cool!😃

But the sad thing is with Aloys mission and Id go as far to say the way she grew up shes just dead set focused on what she needs to do and very often beliving that she can only do it alone to not put anyone else in risk of things and in the opening song "In the flood" you really get to see that with how alone she feels. Like she likes to make people smile and helping them out but she never sticks around much Erend especially gets upset over this when Aloy run off after the Battle in Meridia.
And I get the impresion that by the end of the game she will have had to learn to be more open, accepting the help of others and let herself get close emotionally with someone.

I chose the fist, because when he asked in Zero Dawn, I used the brain, 'n' he apologized, and told me to forget it, but now he asked AGAIN, so, that's why I got a bit annoyed.
C'mon, he doesn't PURPOSE like 💍
He just asks her to return there after she saves the world so they can get to know each other better so, perhaps, in the future they reach the marrying level!!!
The Heart is the only Option, i ship Aloy and Avad more than all the others
I love that Itamen is just playing around in the background 😂❤️ he’s adorable.
This is one of the rare games where I din’t skip the dialogue being played out at all even after I finish reading the text below, because the facial expressions and animations are next level.
Yeah agreed
I never skip dialogues no matter what. Its not like a play speedrun in games.
That first response was brutal. My god. That hurt me.
one of my favorite ships, haha but dang they made him so clingy and straight forward lmao..and aloy's fist answer is so awkward 💀
I see it as less awkward and more... Sad. You can really hear the emotion in her voice and the amount of stress she's under. It sounds like she feels like she doesn't deserve to have something for herself because she's the only one who can do her mission, the only one who can save the world.
I also found her first answer sounded sad …she can’t even think about these things when she doesn’t even know if she’ll survive
@@kattz9051 yes you have a point..but regardless i personally couldnt be so harsh no matter what..and especially the "holding hands" things is what really made it akward in my opinion.
The animation got sooo much better! This game is insane
Yeah
Her "are you kidding" reply was worse than I thought. Rip Avad, homie didn't deserved that.
Even tho the only person I ship her with is Kotallo, Avad is a nice guy and I genuinely think Aloy cares about him, so I will always pick the heart
It's between Avad and Erend so far. Erend has more bonding time with Aloy than Avad has so at this point, Aloy would feel more comfortable with Erend. We'll see in the third installment; the fight isn't done yet.
Don't forget Petra, it's made clear that she's interested in Aloy and Aloy doesn't mind her flirting. However, I see Aloy as Asexual and would rather her not end up with anyone and if the option to romance someone is given I hope there is a option not to choose.
I felt too much chemistry between Erend and Aloy in the story, I'm so sad that the writers didn't explore a lit of bit more :c I even though he was going to tell her in the way of saving GAIA and Beta, but he turned everything into a joke Hahaha
@@danielanoriega9946 actually… they are both trying hard on their own way…. The king being open to Aloy while Erent end up staying in the friend zone so he can be closer to her. Honestly I feel that none of them will stay with Eloy. I feel someone else will show up at the end and she will feel attracted to that third person that we haven’t seen yet.
@@victorvalenzuela7626 Hahaha I hope not, that would be a disaster. But I wonder... If Elizabeth was gay that means that Aloy and Beta are too?😂 In that case our boys dont have a chance.
@@danielanoriega9946 Doesn't have to be though. Because with your reasoning, Aloy and Beta (Damn she needs a better name) would be exaclty the same as Elizabeth in terms of personality. Which this games proves, they aren't. Since otherwise Aloy and Beta would also have the same personality.
Right now we are not even sure what Elizabeth was in terms of sexuality, though I think it is strongly hinted at in Zero Dawn that she at least liked men, considering she said to GAIA that never had the time to have kids of her own, she never said anything of adopting childeren.
Tilda obviously was very much into Elizabeth to the point of obsession in my eyes.
Aloy and Beta genetically are the same as Dr. Sobeck and they might have personality traits of her (Aloy more so than Beta because GAIA), but that doesn't mean everything else is the same. I also think that in Zero Dawn it is strongly hinted at with certain interactions that Aloy is Bi-sexual, since interactions with certain people of both genders can seem to have a hint of romance to them. Avad being the most obvious one.
Though I think that Aloy like Elizabeth is very much driven by her mission and so far didn't have time to settle down.
Even if I don't ship them, I can't bring myself to being mean to Avad. He's so soft and huggable.
I love the kid in the back ground just swinging his spear around and play fighting. This is usually what I do, just watch the background characters do their thing and see if they're doing something funny that throws the mood of the scene.
How to escalate your fandom's shipping war:

@@neruba2173 what?
@@julia4ever1 Sorry I got confused with that other random side quest oseram blaming all her life disgraces to all the males in her family up to her grand grand father.
Petra is good, I like Petra, she'd be my choice #3 after Kotallo, and Talanah, though Talanah is quite impossible at this point, we already know what she is into.
SAAAAAAMEEEE, I though I was the only one honestly, but for real... she has great chemistry with most of the characters, but my favorites are the ladies: Petra, Talanah and Alva. And you can really say, if they put the option in the third game to choose a romantic partner, it would be unfair if you couldn't choose a female partner (I mean, people wouldn't be able to complain on "forced LGBT representation" after what we know about Elisabet) so, Talanah it's not exactly out of the game, and Alva is now part of the Aloy gang even if she has already a female partner, so... who knows?.
I don't have anything against the guys, I liked Drakka, but besides him; every guy seems to be looking for something different in Aloy than what she really is. I see Erend more like a big brother, and Kotallo a loyal guardian than anything else, but that's just my opinion. I just hope we are free to choose in the third game, even we want a ace Aloy, that I feel can be the most genuine option too.
@@kokosmith7059 omg yes i love Alva. I was so happy when she said the has a gf haha.
I agree with everything you say :). So lets se what happens in the 3 game. I'd rather have an ace Aloy than her ending up with a man honestly. Lol
I saw Avad as a potential love interest from the first game, it's cool that they pursued it further in this story.
Aloy would have been the ultimate queen of Meridian :) No woman deserves it more than her.
That anger one is sooooo mean
Avad, my beloved. I so hope he's in the next game a bit more prominently again.
I really hope so too. I think he is one of the most interesting characters. I really like how he is always calm and respectful and never beeing intrusive towards Aloy.
I'm kind of hoping that the next game unites the maps from Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, as well as fills in the gaps between, covering the wide expanse of the Carja Sundom
I thought Talanah was some kind of endgame, now I'm rooting for Avad, Erend, Kotallo or even Alva is a contender for that last fragment at the base before the final battle, the way Aloy said "I do" was so touching and well, we know now Elisabeth had Tilda so maybe a girl will be Aloys endgame, but Avad or Kotallo would be my favorite ships
Just make it a harem
About Elisabet and Tilda, I think it was a just a friendship between two geniuses who respected each other's intelligence and indirect compassion. But the centuries of regret and isolation twisted Tilda's memories of Elisabet into a toxic obsession.
But I do believe that Aloy could be bi because of her isolated upbringing which meant she has no predefined concept of what romance is (because stigma is learned and or encouraged from one's culture and society).
Aloy works too hard lol. I hope in the next game she’ll have down time moments
Damn dude is still thirsty.
Its been 6 months, bro. Plus Aloy's got something for him too if you look close.

I would’ve said yes. 😂
Poor Avad. The guy is quite smitten with Aloy, which I can't blame him.
What impresses me most is that they actually improved all aspects that were lacking in the previous title and kept the good parts.
Dialogue was one of the weak spots of HZD. It wasnt terrible and served its purpose, but this here is a completly different ballgame.
Man. She's got this guy on the hook huh? Ready to leave the throne for her and all that
“Some people are meant to be happy. Others great. You can’t always have both.” I think that applies to Aloy, as much as I ship her and Avad (I definitely chose the love option). Talanah would be my lady choice cause she’s awesome and Aloy is awesome.

Talanah gives a hint that Aloy will find one in future .
Avad I don’t really care for just because it feels like he’s trying to get past Ersa still. That’s literally why he became attracted to Aloy in the first place. Ersa had JUST died and Avad was already looking to get with Aloy.
They did Varl dirty.

@@kattz9051 She did express some interest in Varl towards the end of the first game, yeah (not to his face, though).
Given the Carja/Oseram alliance is the most developed human realm and Avad is both a great king and fighter having won a war against his own father having Alloy bring modern civilization as the queen there would be a great ending to her story. Hell i'd even offer Sylens a job as minister of technology.
Minister of IT Security*
It would be the height of irony to take Mr. 'I want to keep Apollo for myself' and put him in charge of rolling out the Apollo Curriculum to every child he could reach.
i love avad and I love his and aloys cute relationship
honestly, I don't really think Avad or Erand are the right partner for Aloy.. Although, both of them are always there to support her and help her in any way they can, I just can't imagine her with either.. Maybe, by the time the series ends, we could get to see Aloy settle down since Elisabet never could.. It would be extremely grim if the writers decide to have the same fate as Elisabet for Aloy.. Call me a sadist, but I think I would prefer that over her settling down.. In a another perspective, her father figure, Rost didn't have a partner and her biological mother, Elisabet didn't either.. So, if legacy calls for it, she might not either..
Actually Rost did have a partner and even a daughter, but they were killed before the first game. Long story short, Rost sought revenge, enacted the most secret of the Nora rites which was suposed to end in his death, traveled all the way into the Forbidden West, Returned to the Sacred Land heavely wounded in order to die close to home, was nursed back to health by a fellow Nora who broke taboo for him out of respect, Was outcast because he survived, raised Aloy.
I thought you were shipping Aloy with Rost XD. Yeah, she is better off single
I am happy with them just keeping her single. I would prefer her not dying in the end since frankly that would be rough on at least one other character who is like family to her.
What about Avad X Ersa ( if she was alive ) ?
But Elisabet and Rost both had partners? As far as I can remember Rost’s wife died before Aloy was born and eilsabet is revealed near the end of the game to had been in a relationship with someone. In fw they push that Aloy isn’t just another version of eilsabet, so I think it would be thematically very disappointing for Aloy to end up the same way she did.
She obviously likes Avad. She has never acted like that with anyone else. No one has ever flustered her like that. It's almost like she is trying to keep distance so as to not give in to the temptation, because she knows she has work to do first. Thats her future husband right there. The whole team did a phenomenal job with the intricacies of this scene.
there's a scene where she's very crestfallen that Varl has a gf at one point in the game. Like literally the epitome of sad Aloy hours. But she hides it once he comes to talk to her and tells him she will be fine. Maybe it's just her being unable to regulate emotions properly (due to her isolation as a child and not having that experience with other kids) and just being sad about having to be alone for some period of time but it really seems like the actor was told to go for a profound sense of sadness, 'cause the character's expression seemed very dire.
I don't get that vibe at all.
@@greatpower6063 She's jealous because SHE doesn't have a love life. Not because she had feelings for Varl.

Imma leaves this right here; I've already completed the game and am on my 2nd playthrough currently. Throughout the game, there are a few that flirt subtlety with Aloy... especially Erend which in my opinion is more of a sibling to Aloy if anything. Avad is the only person that Aloy shows anything slightly romantic with. She blushes, her expressions, and also choosing the heart option is based on the information provided is expressing Aloy's deep truths. Aloy is open to getting to know Avad on that level. I'm okay with that. Avad so far is the only one taking a direct and respectful approach to Aloy... any woman would appreciate that and I think that's why Aloy is open to Avad in that way.

I chose the fist. Aloy shouldn't still be having to deal with Avad's shit - he seriously needs to learn what the word no means.
Thank you! For me, any possible chance of me ever shipping them was completely destroyed by the way Avad basically is just using her to get over Ersa. Personally I don’t think he actually loves her, he’s just crushing hard. He loved Ersa, and he just kinda fell back on Aloy after her death. Aloy isn’t just some backup replacement, and Avad seriously needs to learn that.
@@turtleduck1036 Exactly - he’s clearly trying to get Aloy to fill the void Ersa left in his life (she called him out on it in the first game, too). Dude needs to take a hint.
@Bobby Papoutsis You read my thoughts exactly. I could not have said it better myself. Personally I have always headcanoned Aloy as asexual, since she never shows any interest in romance. I desperately hope that Guerrilla never gives her romance options, because honestly at this point romance would just feel more like fan service than an actual feature that drives the game.
@Bobby Papoutsis Aloy does express an interest in Varl at the end of Zero Dawn (and there’s an awkward moment of unresolved sexual tension between them if you talk to him before the battle to save Meridian), and she’s clearly envious when he’s making out with Zo, but I suspect she’d get annoyed having to deal with all the hero-worship.

Nope you weren’t. Aloy isn’t interested in him.
Could be considered spoilers:
As someone who loved the romance stuff in Bio games, I was bummed in the first game that Aloy had none. Then I realized she just doesn't have time for it and was sheltered enough that she doesn't understand it.
Avad kind of creeped me out in the first game, I felt like every time Aloy talked to him he was hitting on her. Even in this new game, I get that same feeling from him. I guess I don't like him for her in that regard and no understanding of why she would be interested.
Erend also started off that way but then became more of a friend. I felt that Aloy starts to see him a little different later, but that could just be a stronger friendship I do like him so would be ok with a romance there.
I liked Varl in both games but, well spoilers.
Personally I would choose Talanah but I don't think that's in the cards, again spoilers.
I feel like this is more of a telling of Aloy's overall story so the writers should decide who she ends up with, if anyone. I just hope its not Avad. Sorry to those who disagree.

I had gone with the heart option only because he seemed so sincere and I couldn't remember why I disliked him, only that I did and greatly so. Reading through the comments I remember now and wished I'd pick any other option. I never liked Avad and personally don't think they would be a good match. I was Team Varl all the way and then Zo happened... in two days, which I find ridiculous, but 🤷♀️. I like Erend well enough, but still a pass. He's good for her as a friend but he's a little too worshipy for a partner, which seems to have toned down a bit.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking there might be potential with Kotallo. Then again, I think he's awesome. But it did seem that Aloy responds to him differently, not in a heart eye way, just differently than the other guys. Almost like they have a kind of kindred spirit, like they understand each other on another level. It's unique and I'd love to see their bond develop regardless if they remain friends or become something more.
If they put romance for Aloy in the next one it'll either be player choice or one they'll write in. We'll just have to wait and see. Until then I'll mourn for Team Varl and cautiously fly Team Kotallo. 😂
Yay team Kotallo!

I do like Aloy/Avad, precisely because their differences complement one another's where it matters.
Aloy is passionate and a hothead; Avad is calm and collected. She's a warrior; he's a diplomat.
But both have a strong moral core, and both are strong and brave enough to fight for it.
@Bobby Papoutsis I'm thinking that Varl kept his keeper status from when he went to Meridian to fight Hades. Yeah, there does need to be some real follow up on how the Nora deal with a post-Hades/Aloy world. It seems like they are opening up more to the outside world, but I'm not sure how many of the superstitions/taboo are being abandoned.
I rather have it be player choice.
