*spoilers* Both the book and the series has one of those endings that really tug on your heart for the sad realization that Jake will never be able to go back and be with Sadie, while Sadie will die without really knowing the love between them. Jake has to live in the present for the rest of his life, only having memories of being back in that time. It's really sad when you think about it.

I didn't think Stephen King could write such a romantic novel, but he really surprised me.
