I managed to get 44 km/l today, i had converted the fuel injection system to a carburettor one yesterday. Took milage test with milage bottle and it was 25 on rough slow ride and 44 on 60km/hr smooth nonstop ride
How to much for the conversion

Once i did a 52 kmpl ride on my CL500 ..no high rpms, no engine breaking, minimal breaking n 70-75kmph cruising speed.
Yes thats possible but not practical. In my general city riding style n conditions the bike gives 24-27kmpl

Nothing to be surprised he rode classic 500 on hwy and under speed of 70-80km/h which matters a lot in terms of air friction.
Yeah. I believe you. Why wouldn't anyone believe? But doesn't the mileage seem more? My Pulsar 15 2017 Edition gives around 50 kmpl and re 500 is giving 44. It's surprising

I also have classic 500 (BS 3) and i get around 25 kmpl and sometime 27 kmpl in city and 31 kmpl in highway in stock exhaust,i never changed or not even tried any other custom exhaust.
May be your bike is not well maintained
Its FI right so they tell that dont let the fuel tank empty keep atleast 2_4ltrs it damages fuel pump is it true?

Your fuel injectors could possibly pull impurities and dirt in furl tank to spray injectors thats why always put adequate petrol in an fi engine
Like really?! I have the same model and colour as yours but I didn't really ever measure the milage of my bike but I used to say it gives around 25 in the cities and 30-32 on the highways. But what I saw here is something really different. P.S- I have the stock silencer.

Initially while going to Bombay, my Classic 500cc gave 54km/pl. But 700km of total trip riding in Bombay city and getting back again,it gave me 44km/pl whole trip.

Average is 25 to 28 in cities. Unless you switch off on slope. On Highway with correct tyre pressure (32/28) Single rider early morning iI clocked 45 kmpl.

44km/l seriously??? i mean how can any 500cc bike that too a RE gives a mileage which is better than a 350cc. I checked again to see weather you were riding a 350 eventhough i could see the chrome. I have also booked a 500cc and the only thing i worry about is the 25-30Km/L mileage. What are the stuffs you do for maintaining the engine.

my classic 350 gave me 53kmpl. Done a retuning to increase pickup and the mileage and now it is 49- 50 kmpl. My relative, who has a 2014 classic 500 and weighs abt 120 kgs gets a constant mileage of 42 kmpl on highway runs. Servicing the bike regularly , single hand use and maintaining a constant speed with no jerky throttle and show-offs gives this mileage easily.
42kmpl is not easy. And how come its 120 kg? its around 190kg if am not wrong. And please elaborate constant speed, coz one can do constant speed of 90kmph and also 30kmph.
Dude, I meant that my relative , in person ,weighs 120 kgs, not the bike. And he does an average speed of abt 70 - 80 kmph.

Buddy, which is more fun to ride and value for money between bullet 500 and classic 500. Both these bikes have EFI
Classic 500 ofcourse.
Only thing is that EFI and TPS has to be taken care of.
Always keep 3 - 4 litres in the tank.
BULLET 500 has carburetor.
Classic has more retro look with saddle spring seat and single seat option.It also makes power than Bullet 500
I am getting 40-46 on highway , 32-37 in city on my desert storm classic 500cc bs4 . My crusing speed is 50-60kmph
My driving pattern
1st gear :- 0 - 15kmph
2nd gear :- 15 -30kmph
3rd gear. :- 30 - 40kmph
4th gear :- 40 - 55kmph
5th gear. :-. Above 55kmph
My classic done 300km n giving me 46kmpl!!!! So the average will increase or decrease after first service?

No Smoke.
But yes Silencer's end point is is full of Black Carbon
if there's no smoke then bike isn't burning oil so that black carbon is not oil but unburnt petrol. there might be a leak, have a look at oil drain bolts . also check your spark plugs. if they have oil on them then your bike might be burning oil like that mech said "apki bike oil chor rhi hai"

My Royal Enfield giving only 20 Kmpl as I have RE Classic 500 Desert storm in UAE. The capacity of Fuel tank is very less as I have to keep 3 liters in reserve in tank & as per RE machanic I should not fill the full tank so approx I should keep 10 to 11 liters with 3 liters reserve so I can put only 7-8 liters petrol & I drive everyday around 200Kms so almost 2 times per day visit in petrol station & the major problem in UAE with accessories are not available, very limited options for accessories for RE. Rest of all Great.

at First flling you hv mentioned that fuel is little bit more than 1 litre and after second filling that bottle was exact One Litre, which means your bike giving you near to same mileage by both ? am i right ?
no. i saved a little bit of fuel from the first bottle . I said it in the video too i think , it was probably just 10ml over hahah
