You need to understand this. There is nothing wrong in being yourself. But what’s job an IAS you need to deal wide range of people from the most intelligent, highly egoistic to the most dumb persona. So need balance even body expressions, hand gestures. If don’t believe do whatever you want while dealing high profile half crazy rich or minister and check yourself. 😂 its not something about an IAS officer is subjugated under that, its something dealing all kinds of nonsense on daily basis.
For everyone making fun of what the panel said : It's just all about basic etiquette.... Since an civil services officers represents a country , so they need to be good enough to not let there thoughts get expressed on face as expressions... They should be good enough to control their expressions and being normal even if they are happy sad confused or whatever.... 🙂
@@terminator9735okay 12 year old. This is an institute, they are only pointing everything out so nice. It was constructive criticism, teaching him before the actual interview since the people there are not so lenient. Also, there is a bigger competition and so, more people actually better.
Body language tells a lot about a person. And some gestures are offensive too. They are rooted in deep subconscious personality. When one practice and change them , slowly that internal persona also heals. Same thing is with hand writing.... So its a very important point.
100% agree Imagine if someone curls their eye brows (in anger) or winks or blinks every time questions is asked. Raising eye brows has a certain connotation and a meaning. The interviewer was able to pin point this accurately so we can fix the issue rather than leave him in ambiguity. This might be a twitch he has that he didn’t realise. But by no means is it harmless for him (the interviewer) to ignore
That's how diplomacy works .. u can't show what u're thinking.. these things help u in critical situation where u have pretend in front of some enemy or something
These skills are not important for UPSC, Important skills are honesty, capability, critical thinking , problem solving, Please select in correct way not even by beauty Please.
World doesn't function that way. Even if they select him ignoring that, he might face situations during his tenure where he will need to take decisions and he will be judged on that
Yes they can't reject him just because of the eyebrows movement but facial expressions are very important in any interview that's why if anyone is preparing for any kind of job they should keep positive and controlled facial expressions
In psychology they say your gestures (say it be facial or hand or leg movements) show whether you are confident or nervous and the panel sitting there are well trained to point it out. If your gestures show your nervousness clearly, it might be problematic during your tenure so they just prepare you for this nd score you accordingly.
Why some officer are hated on social media if they pass this interviews, it's just not make sense, they should have some other criteria or interview questions.

I dont think its a big problem, these types of training can be given after selection. so if you have good knowledge and give them a good answers that is enough. When it comes to foreign relations and diplomatic moves, these kind of facial expression matters. But even then, if the candidate has good knowledge he can use his knowledge well and adapt to any kind of situations. so select him and give him training on that. he will fit in
Yo guys r y'all urban fools ,just think constant eyebrow movement doesn't mean immaturity and a general lack of confidence or nervousness which is the key in interviews like this...

There's a reason why it's called Personality test instead of UPSC interview.
