Excellent! It's sad that those families were told their son were killed in a training exercise, when in fact were killed in action. Those families deserved more respect. Great work!

My grandfathers Jesse B Davis (4th ID 8th IR) and Benjamin F Compton (4th ID 12th IR) landed on Utah Beach with the 4th on that day. They both fought all of the way until the end of the war and made it home.
I have to say that you've managed to create a very informative and easy to grasp video about the Utah beach landings and the planning/training that lead up to it. Great work all around.
My uncle wrote a story in detail explaining his experience on Utah beach on that day it is fascinating he was with 300 men and he was 1 of 8 survivors he talks about the trauma when they landed and the images still stuck in his head.... he was Fourth division company c 22nd infantry. Gustav Bruno was his name
Great film. I wish more channels gave a clear breakdown of movements in this way. An under-appreciated fact is that 4 men from the 4th Cavalry Group (2 each from the 4th and 24th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadrons) were the very first seaborne allied soldiers onto occupied French soil. They went onto the Îles St Marcouf, just off Utah Beach, to ensure there were no artillery spotters or other German forces there. This was at 04:30am. They went ashore in rubber dinghies, armed only with knives. I'm creating a website memorial and book about the 24th squadron, so their actions on D Day are close to my heart. The 24th lost men to mines and artillery on the Île du Large that day.
I'm writing a book about a fictional soldier who fought in the 47th Infantry Regiment, and this helped me with my research on his actions. He would have gone to Morroco in Operation Torch and Utah beach in D Day. In reality, he would not have participated in the Invasion of Sicily, but i'm doing it anyway. If anyone has reletives or them themselves fought in any of those three battles, leave a comment. Anything helps!
Great video! I'm impressed with the quality, as usual. It's a real wonder why you cannot get more views with such content, maybe a shout-out from other well known military history channels would help.
