  • Pretty slow evening with around 120,000 Shad’s went through Bonneville Dam and not many people were catching. Usually with that high of fish count it should have been a good day. I manage to keep 1 out of the 5 fish I hooked on too. 1 Shad was plenty of fish to cook with.
    The Shad meat was extremely tasty and sweet. Very fresh and clean tasting with no smell. You can literally enjoy this fish in so many dishes which I’m planning to make in the future. One of the popular dish most folks make are like can sardines with a tomato base.
    Tamarind Sauce Recipe:
    *Fresh or packaged tamarind
    *Fish sauce
    *Sugar
    *Lime
    *Thai chilies
    *Garlic
    *Water

    Where’s the crowd? Man, we went on Free Fishing Weekend. What a zoo, lucky Shad were biting. Anyway, fried Shad the way you did is one of the best to cook Shad cause the bones dissolved. Shad are delicious if you know how to prepare them. Tight lines bro. 👍

      Thank you my man! Yea I got there super late and everyone were packing and getting ready to leave and it was perfect to make a video lol 😆. Yes I will be doing some more cooking on them if I have more time. Are you going to do some cooking as well on your channel?

    Wrap it in foil and bake at 200-250°F for 4 hrs. Bones will melt down to a very soft texture that can be safely chewed and swallowed.

    Hey bro, in another video of yours, you fried them and seem like you had no problem swallowing the bones. in this video, it looks like they were a little bit more noticeable. Which of the 2 ways would you recommend cooking them and having those bones being less noticeable?

    • @washingtonlife
      @washingtonlife  15 днів тому +1

      If you deep fry them or fry them a lot longer than I did then they will definitely be a lot less noticeable. I did it pretty quickly and the bones were still hard and very noticeable. Thank you for watching

    If they were only using one or two turbines the water is not moving fast enough to bring the fish closer to the shore. They were probably out further and deeper.

    • @washingtonlife
      @washingtonlife  15 днів тому

      Yes you’re definitely right about that. I need to put on a little heavier weight to cast out farther and deeper if they aren’t biting close to shore. Thank you! 🙏
