This seems to be the first Chat GPT house assistant available; The domotics side is of less interest to me (although would use it). Is there any other similar device ? I am planning to throw away Google nest and alexa , both "dumb" equipment soon.
and why the heck isn't that available in Europe - at least with smart home control? - I know privacy is more complicated in europe but a small on premise server running the voice commands for HA would not be a technical problem every 12 core server can do that with ease.
Dude, Who you fooling ? You know this will be a heavy subscription for Josh. I know how things work. I know you need to stay alive. I hope Amazon will buy you out. If that's your attempt. Well...let's see if I'm right in few years. You can be the next Brilliant. Hope you guys do well. I like the GPT-4o without subscription.
It's cool, but now that I use home assistant, I prefer to be able to change my pipeline in case other Ai models surpass GPT. Being locked into one Ai assistant sucks, and same with the ecosystem. If their hardware comes to home assistant I'll give it a look, but not until then). But with HA working with Nvidia to get local AI machines eventually working, systems like this will become obsolete very quickly. (also having everything work offline is a must)
@@joshdotai that's fair! But is the hardware locked to their software or will it be HA compatible? That would still be a deal breaker. Thanks for the extra information!
There are multiple aspects to GPT-4o. In the Open AI videos they are using it for ASR, LLM, and voice generation. They have not yet opened up all of that to third parties. This video is simply using GPT-4o at the LLM level, so the voice generation is still a bit slower. That should improve over time!
Neat idea, but I'd like to see this integrated with Home Assistant. I also want to see prices on the website without having to contact somebody.
Josh, i love this, keep up the good work this channel will blow up, we need it
Is this integration with chat gpt (or GPT-4o) still keeping the interactions private?
Really interesting, supports Spanish or more languages? ships to México?
i am not really sure what i am looking at here. do you sell the product? the service? can i integrate it to home assistant?
Josh.ai is a smart home solution and this is integrating GPT technology. You can learn more at josh.ai.
Can you provide a list of which languages Josh communicates in
Josh can respond back in about 50 languages but only accepts commands in English currently.
How much you pay for API calls? I made few calls with chat identity and 20dolars went off instantly:)

Who says this hardware is locked to one AI? 😉

@@Liefx the software runs Josh.ai which in this video shows an integration with GPT-4o but is capable of a lot more. HA compatibility is in the cards.
Is that a beach house?
Yep!
Crazy!:S
And this is just the beginning!
very cool.
Funny about genders, it’s so fuking important
I thought gpt 4o was supposed to be FAST…?

@@joshdotai cool!
Politically correct
Very cool, but...Josh? You might want to name it Milo or something less mundane.
Scratch that. Milo is already trademarked. (Just realized, too, that you're pretty committed to josh with the domain name and all.)
Please change the name lol
