This video was so therapeutic! Also, PLEASE sell your handspun!!! You are so creative and your skill is beautiful! Plus, I would never buy handspun with the intention of it being perfect, the whole draw to handspun is that it has it's little quirks and unique features!
Your handspun is absolutely beautiful and if you do decide to put it in your shop, I'm sure it'll be snapped up pretty quick. That being said, since it is so gorgeous, I wouldn't blame you in the slightest if you decided to keep it for yourself!
Wow -- that was amazing and you so could sell out of your handspun -- stop under-valuing your amazing skills!! That was so satisfying watching you take three tufts at a time then winding it off on the swift ....
Bee-YOO-tiful yarn! There was something nice about seeing all those tufts laid out in gradient order, too. I went through, and sometimes still go through, thinking my handspun isn’t good enough to sell, but I try to listen to others when it comes to judging my own work, instead of that meanie who lives in my head.
No doubts! Your yarn is lovely and would definitely sell. You are so kind to listen to all the requests you get and to take the time and effort to put together such helpful videos!
Trish, some of our only knitters/crocheters would love hand spun yarn from your hands. Your yarns ARE good enough to sell if you chose to do so. You could call it the Yard Sale so its not something you feel you have to do to stock your shop but for the times you just want to sell some hand spun. Have you tried doing this blending without any tools at all?
Thanks! When I learn something new and ENJOY it as I do in your videos… it’s so nice to be able to contribute! You should definitely sell your hand spun 💗
Omg Trish, I would buy your handspun yarn in a split second with no hesitation! Especially this beautiful ombre!!! Please add it to your shop! I don't dye or spin, so I really appreciate seeing how it's done.
What a great video - thank you so much for this. I’m still in hospital (9weeks now) and I was able to completely immerse myself in your fibery world🙏. You really are so talented at what you do. You are inspiring and great to watch. I so appreciate you making this excellent, top notch quality content for us, for FREE. It must be a lot of work. Also you have created a wonderful fibre tribe. I am quiet within the group as I’m in the UK (so not able to join the meet ups) and am a bit shy, but believe me I love feeling a part of this group. What a wonderful community that YOU created😊. Thank you🙏😊
I really appreciate how you tailor your content to a spectrum of spinners, from those with fancy tools to those of us doing magic with dog brushes haha. Beautiful yarn!
I remember when you did the one on the carder, Frowned when you pulled out the braid, not really my colours but man oh man it was gorgeous 🤩 so this time, me not being a fan of gold and orange I said to myself that Trish always makes what I think I don’t like into something I want! Well done lady!
I am sure that beautiful yarn is more than good enough to sell but why wouldn't you want to keep it for yourself! It is so gorgeous and was so much work. Love it!
Ooooh! This was a fun video! I love watching how you created this yarn! And, yes, your yarn is worthy to be sold in your shop because your creations are beautiful!🍄🐑🧶
Your handspun is beautiful and absolutely worth putting in the shop provided you are able to part with it (I don't know if I could, I'd want to use it myself). Thank you for showing multiple ways of doing something that get the same result. I love having options😁
I like that term...troll tuft. You made a "troll pencil topper" lol. Sometimes I put my card in a vice I made and pull the blends off like roving similar to how you do off combs. Big S for "sheep" and because it looks cool lol. I've not tried to do a fade with a braid yet. I might have to see what all I have. I know a lot of what I have will be too cool as is to break them apart but I bet there's one I wouldn't mind sacrificing lol.
Thank You Trish for this clear instructional explanation. Definitely makes me more confident working with colour changes! I vote for your handspun being in your shop as well ❤
Thank you so much! I don’t have a drum carder but do have some small hand carders. Now I think I will buy some bigger ones. This was soooooo helpful. Now if I can just get chain-plying to work for me. . . . .
Trish, this turned out so beautifully. I think that when I see handspun, I expect even work, but I also expect the small differences and inconsistencies that mark the hand of the maker. Also, thank you for doing a video emphasizing handcards--I'm making a point to stick with the tools I have and trying not to covet the next "thing" that I don't have, and that includes a wheel and drum carder (I do all my spinning right now on spindles). So lower-tech possibilities are wonderful!
Super neat! Those are absolutely my favorite colors too! Hilariously It actually never dawned on me to card roving to blend the colors😂. You made it look so easy!
This would be great as a self-made advent spin! I've been trying to come up with an idea for this year. A mini-batt, a piece of candy, maybe a little dollar-store treat in a paper bag. It won't be a surprise, but it would still be a bit of a treat in December.
It would! I got so many questions about if I was planning to offer an advent box in my shop, but I just feel like I have no time! I could do something like this for myself though!
That looks so fun, I'm going to have to try it. Thanks Trish. That colourway is totally in my wheelhouse. I'm going to look and see if you have any braids left!
this is such a great technique to show since a lot of people really would love the effect but don't have a drum carder! I'm seriously trying to mentally go through my stash to find a similar style braid!
Oh Trish, that was amazing! I enjoyed this demonstration so much, I do have some hand carders that I’ve never used, this is going to be fun. But I really have to try to learn to do that plying, it just looks intimidating to me :p.
What an absolutely stunning yarn thank you for showing the hand carded way I still only have dog brushes lol but I use my drum carder. I chain ply everything unless I do a four ply I'm rather boring that way hah lots of love and big virtual hugs to you and John x
Trish that was yet another AWESOME video. I don’t have a any fiber prep tools so this give me great ideas on what to do with braids without having to invest in a drum carder. Thanks for the helping me think out of the box on fiber prep. 🎃 Spooky braid
I love seeing a gradient made by hand. I think I'm going to try it with the 2 braids of Pansy I bought from you. BTW, another way to look at the direction of the twist is by writing down an "S" or a "Z" to represent the ply twist. If you rotate the piece of paper 180 degrees you will still have an "S" or a "Z". The configuration doesn't change. PS, you should totally list your handspun! Your spinning is beautiful and not everyone has the time to spin your hand dyed fiber.
Makes my mind wonder about all the different color combinations I could possibly try. Doing catch up on your videos as it is storming here. Lots of snow and very windy.
Watching this it looks like it would be easy to do this on a blending board too. Long as you do similar batches like you just did with your carders. But make rollogs out of the batches and then organize them by color to spin? I hope I'm following you on this? (Don't have carders yet, lol) Looks really great!
That turned out so well! As a fellow spinner, i have to tell you that your spinning is fantastically consistant. I'm a bit all over the place when i spin (something I'm working to correct), but watching you spin is so zen for me. Super nice yarn! I hope you had fun making it. Oh! Before i forget, what was the yarn size in the end? Fingering weight? Or smaller?
I love that you also show the end result! Since you are working with a one-treadle Matchless: Would you rather have a two-treadle spinning wheel or do you like the one-treadle more? I'd love to invest into a Matchless next year but can't decide which version is better.
I never treadle with both feet even on my double treadle wheels. I purchased this wheel with a single treadle deliberately for that reason, but there's no right or wrong.
The color you blended starting at 13:10? I started hearing this purring croon....and then I remembered, I no longer have a kitty...that noise is me That foggy purple is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
I 100% would buy some of your beautiful handspun!
This video was so therapeutic! Also, PLEASE sell your handspun!!! You are so creative and your skill is beautiful! Plus, I would never buy handspun with the intention of it being perfect, the whole draw to handspun is that it has it's little quirks and unique features!
Oh thank you!

I love watching your hands when you chain ply. Its so graceful
Troll tuft! Made my day.
No doubts! Your yarn is lovely and would definitely sell. You are so kind to listen to all the requests you get and to take the time and effort to put together such helpful videos!

Also you are the most graceful chain plied on the planet. Like a hand ballet.
I have a few hours of practice 😂
That looks amazing!! And its totally good enough to sell!! So if you want to! Sell it!! I'm sure someone will gobble it up in quick order!!
Thanks! When I learn something new and ENJOY it as I do in your videos… it’s so nice to be able to contribute! You should definitely sell your hand spun 💗
The colour transition is so beautiful. I really loved seeing them laid out on the table in a 'troll hair' autumn rainbow.
I'm a visual learner, and this video gave me so much inspiration! Your finished yarn is beautiful.
Awesome! Thank you!
Omg Trish, I would buy your handspun yarn in a split second with no hesitation! Especially this beautiful ombre!!! Please add it to your shop! I don't dye or spin, so I really appreciate seeing how it's done.
I think those colours would look amazing incorporated into a sweater ❤

I just have so much from all the years of spinning. Sometimes it seems a shame that it just sits on a shelf!
My goodness that pink and grey yarn is beautiful!❤ I have to make some of that!
Hi Trish, thanks so much for showing the process. My brain told me it would be so hard with hand carders. I now have more confidence to give it a go.
You can do it!
I can see doing this on a blending board, too. Same concept. 🤔
Thanks for showing us your method!
All of your yarn is wonderful and would sell no doubt! Your products are stunning and well made!
Seeing all the color bundles laid out in the s shape was very satisfying! The 2/3 and 1/3 trick to get even blends is so cool!
That is beautiful! I wasn't sure when I saw you breaking it up but once I saw it in the "S" on table then spun, WOW!
Absolutely love the the graduations, going to have a ago sometime.
Yes, it is magic! Thank you so much for all your effort to help us out. I've learned so much watching your videos.
It’s a gorgeous colour transition.
Ooooh! This was a fun video! I love watching how you created this yarn! And, yes, your yarn is worthy to be sold in your shop because your creations are beautiful!🍄🐑🧶
That made such a lovely skein of yarn! Thanks for sharing this method with us. It's totally good enough to sell as hand spun yarn, by the way! 💖
Your handspun is beautiful and absolutely worth putting in the shop provided you are able to part with it (I don't know if I could, I'd want to use it myself). Thank you for showing multiple ways of doing something that get the same result. I love having options😁

Wow, that was sensationally beautiful yarn, just gorgeous!!
Thank you so much!
That yarn is beautiful! Love the gradient. Now I want to try that with a couple braids I have in my stash.
I learn so much from these tutorials… thank you for doing them
Glad you like them!
Thank You Trish for this clear instructional explanation. Definitely makes me more confident working with colour changes! I vote for your handspun being in your shop as well ❤
perfect inspiration to start spinning again
My brain can’t handle the chain ply question. Your explanation is great!
So beautiful! More than good enough to sell.

that is gorgeous and I love chain plying
I love those colors together

👍My kind of colors!
That’s absolutely beautiful! Great technique and tips!

Gorgeous Trish xxx
Great video!! Blessings, Trish.

I’m so excited to see this video!!!
Trish, this is such a cool process! I am constantly surprised at all the ways you can prepare and use fiber. Thanks so much !
Wow. You made beautiful yarn. I’ve never done that before.
It turned out gorgeous!
I love this! I put hand carders and combs on my Christmas list!
Fingers crossed!
I love the colors!! So beautiful
I like hand carding rolags. It allows me to take my spinning in smaller sections.
Your tutorials are always so easy to follow. Thank you for all you do.
Great video. Many thanks 😀
Your explanation is wonderful. And seeing start to finish is fantastic. Thanks
Yep, totally confirmed that hand carders are next on my purchase list! Thank you once again for such an informative video!!
Oh wow, never thought to do that. Thanks for the inspiration and explanation. 😊
This is an awesome video for a newer spinner like me. It was sooo educational. I have fleece and hand carders. I need to get on this!! ❤
I always love your colour combos!
Thank you! Cheers!
TY for this video! I learned so much.
That is so beautiful, not only are your videos inspiring they calm my brain, thanyou for your time xx
Very pretty
What an absolutely stunning yarn thank you for showing the hand carded way I still only have dog brushes lol but I use my drum carder. I chain ply everything unless I do a four ply I'm rather boring that way hah lots of love and big virtual hugs to you and John x
Trish that was yet another AWESOME video. I don’t have a any fiber prep tools so this give me great ideas on what to do with braids without having to invest in a drum carder. Thanks for the helping me think out of the box on fiber prep. 🎃 Spooky braid
Love this video, thanks so much
Btw, those colours x
That was awesome! ❤
Awesome video thank you I may try that.
I enjoy watching your thought process. Very nice outcome. Be blessed. (From Gerry)
I love seeing a gradient made by hand. I think I'm going to try it with the 2 braids of Pansy I bought from you.

You could also probably sell washed fiber. Some of us are a bit intimidated by that whole process!😅
You are an inspiration ✨️. Keep on.
Makes my mind wonder about all the different color combinations I could possibly try. Doing catch up on your videos as it is storming here. Lots of snow and very windy.
Sooo pretty!!
Thank you!!
Soo pretty❤
Thank you for such a great video. It was really interesting
Ooh, pretty! Btw. where did you get that lovely winder, please?
Awesome video 😊
beautifully done ;)
It is too much but have you seen the Alaska hat? That would be AMAZING for the top of that hat!
Can you teach me about how you’re winding and counting yardage? Genius!
Awesomeness. I understand about the brain gremlins, I also have them.
Thanks so much. I’m going to give this a try. What about on a blending board? Can you demonstrate that?
Watching this it looks like it would be easy to do this on a blending board too. Long as you do similar batches like you just did with your carders. But make rollogs out of the batches and then organize them by color to spin? I hope I'm following you on this? (Don't have carders yet, lol) Looks really great!
Beautiful ❤️ 😍
that's so pretty, i'd buy it! can you do a close up video of the plying? I like the colors for halloween
That turned out so well! As a fellow spinner, i have to tell you that your spinning is fantastically consistant. Hello, this is my first time seeing such an art. How do I learn how to handspun yarn? This is so amazing.
You're in the right place. ua-cam.com/video/yH16qDJQiK0/v-deo.html I'm also planning on releasing a beginning spinning class next year,!
oh wow. Im so excited
I love that you also show the end result! Since you are working with a one-treadle Matchless: Would you rather have a two-treadle spinning wheel or do you like the one-treadle more? I'd love to invest into a Matchless next year but can't decide which version is better.

@@FiberLoveDiary Thank you!
The color you blended starting at 13:10? I started hearing this purring croon....and then I remembered, I no longer have a kitty...that noise is me
That foggy purple is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
I love this! Is there a technique to getting a worsted from this method?
You could use combs or a hackle, but you will end up with some waste.
combs - like wolverine? they're on my wish list!
Thanks for this! Sometimes you just need to see something to really understand it.
I’m familiar with most drafting styles, but what do you call the one with puppy kisses?
I call it my "go to" drafting style LOL
