Excellent sermon! God's grace is always sufficient; it is the human heart that is selfish and impatient. The children suffer the most through divorce. As matrimony goes, so goes society. Our Lady of Fatima told Sr. Lucia, '" The decisive battle between the kingdom of Christ and Satan will be over marriage and the family."
This is absolutely beautiful and so appreciated. Thank you Father.
Great to hear Fr Beck again. Hope all is well in MO!
THANK YOU FOR THIS.
I'm looking to marry myself in the church one day.
Being 38, I wish I had heard this when I was younger.
'Hard cases. Why should we suffer? Suffering is the badge of our profession. What is our symbol but the cross? Hard cases? Why yes, these things must be - to anyone who, anywhere, at any time, in any line of life, follows the way of Christ. Would you have it be otherwise? Would you go through life with perfect ease, with never an inch of suffering? If you did, you would go dwarfed, maimed. No, you must pay for what you value dear. Everything that is worth anything is to be paid for, and the highest things are paid for with the highest price. Hard? Yes, of course it is hard, but it is the way set by our blessed Lord, and He will help you to follow where He leads.'
Beautiful homily.
Thank you for such an important message.
Father. Thank you for speaking the full truth.
Sounds like Father Beck🙏
There's only one priest who talks like that!
Thank you. It is a painting here that shows the wedding band going onto the right hand as it did until a certain time I think.
Children need to understand themselves, as the fruit of two people,
continuously inlove and committed to eachother & to them.
Two biological parents are most ideal.
A grandmother overseeing a single mother & child in no way fills this prescription. As such, the affection is not deep enough for the mother of the child, essential for a child to witness.
Father Chris Alar says, that the sacrament of Matramony takes place, through the Justice of the Peace, as well.

What about impediments to marriage? What about a spouse who is mentally destroying the other spouse?? What about a mental illness that is destroying the family?
That's the kind of grave circumstance that allows separation, but that is not true divorce, as then the two spouses are not allowed to remarry.
Good homily but we need to stop inserting exceptions to the rule when speaking of these things. Saying marriage is indissoluble but then give a clause that says you are free to leave your spouse is counterproductive. Some people will hear that and it justify quitting their marriage.
Get beat up and see why separations are necessary. Divorce and remarriage is ugly. Separation for abuse is survival....and consider that the majority live separately together anyway.
"He that findeth a good woman, findeth a good thing; and of the Lord he shall draw up mirth (and he receiveth favour from the Lord). He that putteth away a good woman, putteth away a good thing; but he that holdeth (onto an) adulteress, is a fool and unwise." Proverbs 18:22 - John Wycliffe Bible XIV century - I think that Church teaching of marriage is false
Clergy condemn divorce; while *they approve the common male vices that provoke divorce:* drunkenness, drug abuse, domestic abuse, gambling, greed, selfishness, pornography, adultery and criminality. Catholic clergy hypocritically accepted the common male vices, which then led to liberalized divorce laws & 99.9% annulments. Clergy need to promote the virtues and denounce the vices bc it is vices that cause divorce. And the vices caused dysfunctional marriages before they resulted in changed divorce laws.
Spot on!
Franci. The SSPX clergy do not approve of the sins listed in your post. Women need to be wise to marry a virtuous man. Attend the Latin Mass.
Literally none of this is true, all of those vices are listed in the Catechism as Mortal Sin, right alongside divorce
Could you point to examples of clergy / the Catholic church approving the vices you listed here?
