@8:54 Lol that was painful! Cod was
🤸 💦🌊💦
Bro that spot’s notorious for very large great whites. The fish there are always massive and so are the sharks. I was actually supposed to be there one day when some buddies of mine got bumped by a 15 to 18 footer. Just know that if you see sea lions there, it’s always a good sign. If you don’t see sea lions there, it’s because the sharks are there that day. There’s a sea lion reserve nearby that spot.
This same thing just happened to me 2 days ago in La Jolla.. I was by myself with no one near me and it circled me for a similar amount of time. But it was circling about 2x as fast as that white shark was. Didn’t swim away until I swatted my paddle at it. Easily one of the most nerve racking experiences of my life!
I remember seeing a great white out of the mouth of Bodega that was 19'. This was about 62/63. A fisherman shot it while it was basking. It was a monster to me. They are imposing in the water.
Good move to huddle up when seeing the shark. Also smart to be ready with something to bonk them in the nose if they get too close. But, best to pull all stringers with fish and bait into the boat and wait them out. Glad to see you guys made it to do another video!
Very true!
Shark action starts at 17:00
Oh man. That's nuts. That's why i keep.my catch in my fish bag above while fishing off cape cod. I don't want to see one of those bad boys while on my hobie. Great content
I enjoyed watching you release some of those big fish.... Im all for people catching and harvesting their own food but theres just something about seeing those big fish swim off to see another day
Movie: Seeing a shark is like seeing a monster.
Fisherman: Seeing a shark is like seeing a dog.
Those White Sharks are known to come up at speed directly under Kayaks and literally launch the kayaker Into the air. Usually they do not care about the person and it is a territorial attack because they want you out of there hunting ground.
Taku losing his fish is even funnier from this angle.🤣
This video was awesome! Happy to see the shark did not become more aggressive. Had a great laugh with
"... wondering where he went wrong..."
Love the fun, competitive spirit between you guys. My wife and I first found your channel a couple of years ago. Then found Taku. Then Matt. Then Nick. You guys are all great. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Texas!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, I'm scared that the shark will have the last laugh with the dude's drumsticks hanging out of it's smiling dogface.
Another great video Adam. Merry Christmas.
It always amazes me when you seem to know exactly whats happening under the water just based on feel
Hours and hours of experience haha
Outstanding video Daniel. Thank you.
Nice haul Adam... Glad Taku got some redemption u had me cracking up talking about his mishaps lol...
It's all part of the journey lol
Great video, loved the fishing and the sportsmanship to wish Taku luck after losing two big lings!
Congrats of the nice fish Adam!
awesome linked
nice
love the narrative
Crazy good fishing yo!
Hello Adam,
Always love watching you fishing & catching monsters❤👌🐋 !
Wishing you, your family, and friends a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 !!
Take care!
Same to you!
Merry Christmas buddy. I got the larger BaitShark 5qt bc of your channel. I do have a live well i built for heavy loads battery powered, but it adds lots of weight to kayak. Thanks and Tight Lines
Yeah this one is great in pinch!
So calm and peaceful out there, must be nice!
It was!
@Adam, maybe as a PSA throwing out the general area of where the shark was? I know there are those that complain about burning spots but lings and cabs are everywhere.
My friend keeps his fish in a dive bag over the side, We had about a 10 foot great white swim under his bag, the difference is my boat is a 20 footer. Watching you guys put your fish on stringers I always wondered how safe that was
My buddy had a halibut hanging off the back of his float tube & a seal grabbed it, ripping his tube in half.
Great video! Awesome catches and the Shark... well, I will never forget surfing at Tunitas Creek with a friend and just about the same time we saw a huge Great White below us circling also. Freakin scared shitless, it was AT LEAST ten feet if not more like 15 and looked as big as a school bus! Needles to say we headed in legs up and caught any little whitewater foam we could.
Been getting chased out of “Don’t-Eat-Us” Creek since the early to mid 80’s lol….used to Dawn Patrol there before High School. This one dude had an encounter there then donated his board to the Surfing Museum in Santa Cruz complete with bite marks and a toothy souvenir that they used to estimate the size. It was a BEEEG FEEEESH. 😅
Scaryyyy!
Tested my luck in Bodega bay and got a limit of Dungeness and went everyday for perch around the outer exposed beaches and caught no perch. I did catch two Coho Salmon off Dillon beach with a lucky craft which was odd. Obviously released them.
ANY FISH THAT EAT CRAB HAS GOT TO TASTE DELICIOUS :) LOL! The way you were describing Taku seeming VERY DEPRESSED ABOUT HIS LOST FISH... THE ONCE THAT GOT AWAY.🤣🤣
We had to run in with a pretty big juvenile shark out at Sea Cliff Beach a month or so ago. It looks to be about 8 to 10 ft and it circled our boat for about 20 minutes coming right next to the boat and putting its eye up looking right at us. We were on a boat and not a kayak so the experience was more fun and less scary.
Love your channel. You are the fish whisper, lol.
The central coast is shark triangle. Alot of seals in the area so there will be great white sharks there. Personally I wouldn't kayak in the ocean but alot of you guys do. Just be safe out there eyes open.
Adam: We’re looking for the biggest fish we can catch… Shark: Hold my Molson…
And the Tax man a cometh.
Love a little friendly challenge to switch things up
Very lucky, guys!
Another great video. Was trying to find where more shark footage. Would love to go fishing with you sometime I live in SoCal. Thank you for all your tips and information sending positive energy 🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼
Taku's video should be posted tomorrow! I'll pin it in the comments once its live!
Great video Adam! I missed out!!
Oh shit! Wow! The "biggest fish" certainly came calling!
Beautiful water! Nice fish! Did you make your fish tube ? If not where can I get one? Thanks!
Great fishing kayak. Good storage and is very stable. I am 250 lbs and this is no problem for me.
Where do I sign up for the beat Die Hard challenge??! I’m in! Thanks for all of the great content, you are an absolute beast of an angler. Merry Christmas!
Sheeeeeeesh😵💫Them cabs!!!!!
You were on the Cabbies! A shark is not something I want to see out there on my yak. Btw I finally got my first keeper ling yesterday! 3 for the day/1 keeper. Thanks for all your videos.
Congrats!!!!
Haha a literal spoon… crackin me up
Those Cabezon are some of the best eating fish there are. I had some fried in Cali last time we went and it was probably the fish I’d ever tasted.
Did you make that bait bucket, cuz it's awesome 👌, and so is your vid!
Wow incredible. Been wondering if/when you’d run into a great white. How cool.
Hit you up via telegram?
Awesome stuff! Where was this filmed?
That's exactly how I used to fish for halibut from my float tube in So Cal.
Do you see Orca out there? I read they go after the Great White's liver & leave them to die. That was the cause of many migrating out of their origin of habitat. Love the video. You are a real & cool dude.
That’s the biggest Cabazon I’ve ever seen. I’ve caught some smaller ones maybe a pound or two & they fight like crazy I can just imagine one that big.
My advice is to always drag your catch behind you. Tie it to the kayak so you know when something big is eating your fish. Maybe you can get a sleigh ride from a big great white shark, now that would be epic!! Let's watch and see what happens
You don't want no sleigh ride from no shark. Kayaks are false keel , displacement hull boats. They can only go so fast before they flip back over front or visa versa. If you get drug backward, you flip at lower speed than fwd. .
Long story short, if the shark drags you by a fish stringer. Which doesn't have drag like a rod and reel. You are going swimming with the shark.
If that happens - You're gonna have a bad time. Itll be most un-epic.
I had about a 8 foot bull shark dragged me under by my stringer of fish. When I was surf fishing in grand isle Louisiana, muddy water.
He drug me a good 25 yards out before I cut the stringer and got loose. That was the scariest swim back in I ever had. Lost my favorite penn reel that day too.
Dude I'm clinching just watching this lol
A couple years back I caught a small rock cod on a sabiki that had a 24” lingcod hitchhike on it. Imagine a keeper lingcod on a sabiki. No lie. Lingcod didn’t fight so I was able to gaf him before he got away.
Good stuff be safe
I noticed on Taku's video that you have a soft bag behind you. Is that a perception cooler? Do you use it to keep fish? I was thinking about a similar solution for keeping fish in the kayak and just wanted to confirm what you were using.
Thanks for another awesome vid!
Nice video! What size hook you use through the nose?
Hate to tell you Adam but you will need something a little bigger than a gaff to take care of a great white in your kayak!! Keep safe !!
Glock 45…better to have 1 and not need 1 than to need 1 and not have 1…gun safety rule #1
Carry 1
Wife and I ran into one at the natural bridges boundry. Being in a small rental skiff and having 3/4 lings she was done.
Everything this guy is doing from location to method of fishing is upping the odds of an encounter.
I never let fish blood or caught fish enter the water. Try a fish bag on the back. Where I am you would last 30 mins hanging fish over the edge. Also the shark would capsize you pulling the fish on rope. Still have my Hobie but now use a small boat for deeper offshore stuff.
When there a Great Whites around, your kayak becomes a bobber when you attach a stringer of fish to it!
OMG 🤔....... I get that you want to keep the fish fresh , but keeping your catch on the side of the boat is definitely how you bait a great white. 👍🏿
I love lingcod! They are so aggressive
When you going fishing in your kayak is 7’6” rods are they hard to fish with because Iam thinking about buy a hobie what is the longest rods you fish with when you casting it
you should have played the Jaws Soundtrack when he was Circling the Boat .🐟
Wow Adam you all got to be careful out there. Good thing you were out there with Taku. You right though better to present a bigger silhouette staying together. Anyways awesome video as usual Adam and I'm glad that Shimano Tecota reel is still going strong I sent you. Anyways Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Aloha from Kansas
the ones you see usually dont attack you.. its the one you don't see thats scary. shark probably smell the blood from adams bloody fish in the water.
No doubt! Still putting that reel to work!
Cool video
do u guys pull the fish up when the shark circles?
Hey, where’s that spot you’re getting all those cabins at?
OMG please look into Shark Shield my brother. Thar cab was a monster
The water looks like a glassy lake. Obviously there's no wind. I didn't know sharks were in still waters in a bay. Thought they stuck pretty much to deeper ocean waters.
Do a Cabazon catch and cook please. Thank you.
Great vid, Location? monterey bay?
good to huddle up? didnt you see Jaws 2 or 3, the one where Jaws dies eating the power line? haha, another great vid, beautiful weather and backdrops
if you look in the back at 16:10 you an see his bait holder floating away
You should go for more pelagics!
I kayak fish in Florida for a week or 2 every year, I would never leave a fish on a stringer because I don't want a shark or alligator yanking on them! And the sharks inshore in Florida aren't nearly that big... but no way am I using a stringer in salt water or fresh where there's gators. Fish bag FTW
Wow! That’s a huge Cabezon! Enjoy eating those.
16:11 bait bucket drifting away
17:15 bait bucket is back
I got my PB 30 yesterday on live jack smelt. Big fight.
Nice!!
A great white at Fraser Island Australia lifted a kayak out of the water a couple of years ago. I go out but always nervous because they follow the migrating whales & ready to tangle. The biggest ive seen was in the 80s at approximately 29 feet now days 21 feet seems to be the biggest around.
How are you sure about that size?? How’d you scale that?? Do you have any type of documentation on this??
what rod is that gray one?
Where you fishing where they gmhave great whites and llongcod? That scares me cause I'm from WA state lol love the channel btw
What kind of road and reel is that?
Nice battleglass rod! Great fir salmon trolling
T: Biggest fish competition, you down?
GW: Biggest fish you say....?
I would have preferred the cabazone over the Ling cod but that's just me. I feel like cab is one of the best eating fish around here. (Besides salmon of course)
My all time favorite fish is the Cabezon. I’m from the east coast so I don’t see it much over here but I always order it wherever I see it.
Hi, what part of the bay u in? City or body of water
Awesome!
But live bait is very cruel. I'll never lower myself to do that with due respect.
God dang those fish are huge, that first would be a monster to me 😲. Another nice day out there, and nice rare siting 🦈!
Was taku using the trailing treble hook as well? Curious what was going wrong? First fish he lost was from a bad gaff job? Either way 💔
I'll be watching his video once it comes out! Should be a rollercoaster of emotions haha
@@DieHardFishing which would u prefer?
1)fishing with doggos around?(no 🦈)
Or
2)no doggos around because of a 🦈 cruising around where you're fishing?
🤣
@@DieHardFishing just watched his video, so it was the gaff job(learning a ton from u guys) but damn he got some nice underwater videos of the 🦈 cruising around y'all. Glad this sighting happened when you are with a friend and not solo. I'm planning to go for yellowtail out of la Jolla in the summer but this rights here is making me hesitant 🤣. I tend to go solo but so far only in harbors
No way am I hanging a stringer from a kayak in those waters!!
This is the same great white was following taku!
Always awesome
Can I ask, how far are you north or south of San Francisco? Great vid!
Dude that’s the biggest cab I’ve ever seen.
cabazone they also called sea trout?
Damn taku butter gaff fingers 😂
Why do fish bite on the big ass spoon? Is it the reflection that attracts them or what?
are they fairly rare where you are?
