Good to see today's soldiers, I joined in 82 , these young ones today are better educated and in decent shape compared to my day ,we had 2 chow lines in basic one for the chubby boys, we also had some who could barely read and write, how times change

Air Assault was not this...... Air Assault was on a UH -1 in Vietnam coming in to a hot LZ....Been there as a doorgunner.....ALSO as a 82nd Airborne Trooper we called Air Assault soldiers " Dope on a Rope " ....That's just now it was then.....

Heard Pathfinder School was harder than Air Assault.
Bubba O It is, alot more to learn than just sling loads and repelling. It more mentally challenging. Air assualt school is just the crawl phase for pathfinder school.
Well yeah all you have to learn in pathfinder school was how to land a bunch those bird in a given small area kinda like geometry so a lot of infantry folks don't like it cuz they get asvab waiver (JK).

Ft Campbell was the original AAS, good training there...others places are knock offs.

Yeah, I got stationed at Ft Campbell after basic and AIT and thought the school was a joke. It really was easy!
@@jeffsanders663 I heard they kick people out of the school for very minor things. For an example I heard that someone had their pens pointing in the wrong direction during a layout and got kicked out. Was it like that during your class?
@@dwgangsat I never heard or saw anything like that. As a matter of fact, doing a pre-march equipment inspection, I had forgotten a pair of gloves. One of the instructors told me to grab some rocks to equal the weight of the gloves. I did and passed. But a pen facing the wrong? Not to my knowledge.

@@dwgangsat Out of, possibly 200 soldiers, we very few fail. 4, maybe 5 or 6. And the reason for failing, they didn't complete the road marches. Are you going to be going through it?
I’m actually in the same class in this video class 03-18 fort drum graduation day is tomorrow wish us look we started out wit 135 people down to 96 people with the last class drop outs

Actually no she is the first and only female combat line medic in the 10th mountain division. I have also had the pleasure of knowing her before she was in the army. She is a bad ass and out performed a lot of the men in our unit physically.
