Are we having tea? (referring to your pinky)
the paiste and the meinl are my favs
Sabian B8: 0:01 Paiste: 0:15 Zildjian ZBT: 0:30 Meinl MCS 0:45
Thanks for uploading these videos, watched your hi-hat one before, real helpful!
Thanks for the quick and concise comparison!
Paiste sounds great here !! Really versatile, the best of all these cheap cymbals !
I would take SABIAN, but i am big fan of PAISTE cymbals :) And thank you, uploader, now i don't have to travel 50 miles, i'm gonna buy cymbal from my home :)
Super video! KOSONEM!
I dont understand what he is says but great video got everything I need from it.. I rate it like this:
Meinl
Paiste
Sabian
Zildjian
I love my 20" Zildjian ZBT Ride. I got it like 20 years ago as part of a cymbal kit Zildjian had at that time. The ride still rocks, the rest of the ZBT unfortunaletly did suck.
The late 90's ZBT 20" Ride is perfect for Metal music as it penetrates nearly every other disturbing sound in the rehearsal room. It has an incredible bell sound. No need for a gong! I love it.
Judging sound from a 11 year old UA-cam video is idiotic but here we go:
Sabian has a crappy bell sound and the ridge sound is too bright and dispersed and unfocused.
Paiste has a good sounding bell, although bright, the ridge sounds fairly focused and more attack friendly than the the others.
However the Zildjian ZBT sounds a lot "drier" than the other cymbals. It's just what you do with your sticks that lands on the surface that make a sound. A perfect Metal producers ride. A great sounding bell!
Meinl MCS sounded too high pitched to me, very noisy and dispersed in sound. But still pretty descent. Don't let the looks fool you to think it's hand hammered and numbered!
This really helps. Thanks.
I have a Sabian B8 Pro and a Paiste 201 Bronze I was just playing. Both 20” rides, that I bought used for the same price. To my ears, although both sounded good, the Sabian clearly sounded better. I was surprised. However, the Paiste would still make a fine ride for most beginner and intermediate drummers on a budget.
This video is perfect for choose best ride
i agree... i like the crash sounds of the zbt ride and i really hate the bell because sometimes, it just doesn't cut...
In my opinion, it's a tie between the Sabian and the Paiste.
paiste and meinl. Those sound the best out of the 4.
when I played the ride in person it sounded really good for a crash but i still like the paiste 201 : )
not only does the meinl sound the best but it it wins the sexiness contest hands down
it's not that one is just better than others. it just depends on what sound you like.
they all make awesome crashes :D
Sabian sounds good
i actually like the paiste alot more than i thought i would.
i like paiste for doing crashes as bonham style but the bow is zbt actually caught my attention. but meinl got the best look!
i liove the aa meinl it has a allsome sound and really pretty and cheap
The Meinl is my favorite :3
I prefer the sound of the Zildjian over the others in the video. I play in a Noisecore band, so I'm basing my choice on that.
noisecore? jesus wtf is happening to music, next it will be shitcore and suckballscore. if you play Noisecore, you couldn't possibly know more than a few blast beats and throw up on the drumset.
the Paiste 201 Ride has a medium & loud sound
i got a 20'' zildjian planet Z ride, it sounds very cool, but meinl one sounds cool too :p
i have the meinl , the exact same one, and i dont really like the sound of it but in this video it sounds great
Good demo 👍😇🫒
I'd have to say,
Paiste
Meinl
Zildjian
Sabian
I am a beloved Zildjian high end owner and user, but the Paiste starter ride just has a warm crash and bell, and sounds comparable to high end rides
i love paistes for the crispy sound. But what s wrong with Sabian, I never have played them?
When you need a Dark/Dry ride, go for the Sabian. You need a Bright and long sustain, go for the other three.
1 - meinl / zildjan -> sound almost identical, i dunno if meinl sounds "brighter" 'cause camera proximity or something
2 - sabian
3 - paiste (gotta hit so hard for a good open)
Sabian, meinl, zildjian, paiste
@drummer4life2014 no that's not true my friend..i used to own one zbt 20 ride and i would have never changed it if it wasn't for the k custom hybrid ride..
I liked the sabian and the Zildjian best on this one
im saying that because many people think zildjian sucks cos of zbt's and the low end stuff
i obviously know that armand is a high end cymbal....
Any recommends?
I'm thinking of getting a Cymbal set, which set should i get?
Zildjian ZBT, Sabian B8 or Paiste 201?
Which is the best? (Overall)
meinl looks the best but tie between zildjian and meinl. both are nicc. bth are bright ( high pitched ).
sabian
paiste
meinl
zildjian
Meinl Mcs yo toco en una banda de power metal y me quedo con el meinl, es mi humilde opinión
The paiste sounds exactly like my pst5 medium ride
Bell: Meinl, Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste.
Bow: Meinl, Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste.
Crash: Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, Meinl.

See I liked the zbt best. I own at least 2 of these. I find the pro sonix used are the way to go cheap. And zht when you can find them. I find with meinl you have to go past the hcs series to get to the good stuff.
They all have their flaws but ZBT sounds best of these entry level. Honestly trying to find a ride I like has been the hardest part of finishing my set. I just dont like any. Im just not a ride guy. The only ones that even come close are Sabian HHX and Paiste Power 2002. I know they are completely different but I like the Paiste more due to the brightness and less sustain.
Paiste and Meinl
Paiste then Sabian but you can find better rides at the same price like a used Ufip B12 or some new B20 Wuhan and Stagg...
keep your pinkys in!
They all sound good to me. There is no best cymbal brand. Music is all opinion
Ok everyone calm, people have their own opinions, this happens on the internet
Paiste, the best
for me zbt is the best in this comparison
where are you from
Pls upload more video brother
Paiste nice Crash and Zildjian nice bass
It's between Zildjian and Paiste, but from Paiste I prefer de prt 5 20 ride ;)
Paiste= amazing
1. Paiste
2. Meinl

MEINL all the way\m/
Sabian Bell, Meinl Bow pl0x.
Paiste knows's b8!
Paiste
Sabian
Meinl
Zildjian
Zildjian ZBT and Paiste as well . . . only the sabians and the meinl in this video are bronze
Zildjian
Paiste
Meinl
Sabian
i like my sabian b8's but i would buy the meinls over them
Meinl
Sabian
Zildjian
Paiste
Luckily, I own the MCS :)
Good video. I've had them all, except the Meinl. I would say the winners IMHO and ranking, are the ZBT, B8 and 201, from my pop-rock MOR favored genres. I hear very few Meinls that I like. Had one a long time ago. Sold them all, as I didn't need them, bought them used low, sold them low, got all but about $40 back. They were all decent entry-level rides, but I have better ones at higher prices I kept (again, the ones I kept are Sabian, Zildjian and Paiste). I made a video on the Paiste 201 Bronze 20" Ride at: ua-cam.com/video/roslKjWGbHQ/v-deo.html
sabian and meinl rule
but but but..its not a bad sounding crash when you use it that way
Sabian
let see who wins if the zildjian is an armand
Paiste 201
for the same price, just get a used mid level cymbal.
sabian
meinl
paiste
zildijan
zildjians bell is very weak. SABIAN ALL THE WAY, you should make a video for pro ride cymbals and use the 3 sabian powerbell rides they would dominatw, sabian hh powerbell, aax powerbell and aa powerbell.
meinl :)
Sabian > Paiste > Zildjan = Meinl
ha! what's wrong with your pinky finger?
I think the the Meinl one sounds better to my ears, a lot crisper and a really nice bell. Paiste is almost as good though, just a slightly different sound depending on your taste. Sabian is definitely better than the Zildjian, Zildjian ride sounds like crap...
That. Fucking. Pinky. Grrrr...
Zildjian
1 meinl
2 zildjian
3 paiste
4 sabian
i vote for zildjan
Paiste 201 Makes a good crash.
meinl mcs looks and sound like my type !!!!!!its only 60$ at guintar centerr
HCS is brass
In this case, Paiste > Sabian > Zildjian > Meinl
zildjian
Hooshlas Hide
Paiste wins ;)
That accent kills me...
meinl mcs and zildjian zbt have nearly same rides. i like them both. paiste pst5 ride is better. the sabian b8 and paiste 201 rides suck
Paiste is my favorite, ZBT sucks bad
MEINL easily wins this one, i've got one and it sound so much better in real life
Paiste
Zildjian
Sabian SUCKS!!
Thanks for this video!!! I have Zildjian ZBT, it is a good cymbal but very loud so I switch to Mainl MCS....
