    After 30 years of doing everything wrong in the market so I have far less than I should I now realize it would have been best to just keep plowing money into S and P and QQQ and just put it on automatic. There is no need to explore other options. It’s a waste of valuable time. You only get one chance to do it right. Don’t end up 30 years later regretting you traded in and out of ETFs and stocks and let life pass you by

      Don't beat yourself up. The first covered call ETF was QYLD which started trading on 12/11/2013 and the better ones like JEPI and JEPQ started trading 5/20/2020 and 5/3/2022.

    GPIX is beating the SP500 since inception and has an 8 percent yield. Jepi might be better in a down market but gets crushed in a up market. Also SPYI tax strategy destroys Jepi on a net return after taxes

      Also noticed it did well during that pull back on Aug 5th. Price performance GPIX trailed SP500 by 5%. However with total return factored in, GPIX led SP500 by about 2%. I bought up some GPIX/GPIQ a few months ago and added more on that Aug 5th drop.

      I was an 25 yr underpaid firefighter/paramedic for a contract company (scab) in 08 lost everything including job, went into deep depression found an underpaid driving job for 8 yrs. I woke up in 2017 started working for an underpaid starting truck driving job, got out of debt, bought a house in 23 and your all caught up

    • @sharktoothdiver
      @sharktoothdiver Місяць тому +1

      @@ffpm2 Well with that being said, you're not too young to invest in yourself, (training) unless you now are happy with your job, and it sounds like things are now better for you. So as far as investing, consider an S&P 500 index fund if you have a 401K at your job. I'm not sure if one of those 6% IRAs are from work or just from after tax pay but either way, you can get a broader market index fund as I mentioned in the 401K or with your after tax dollars in the Roth. You can also invest in a basket of ETFs that are mentioned here. I think a combination of JEPI, JEPQ, TLT etc. which are mentioned here seem like a good start. Unless you know what you're doing, don't go buying individual stocks. Click on Viktoria's name above and it will take you to all of her videos and start watching some of them. She bounces all over the place but she does explain what each one is meant for however. You want to get a bit of growth, a bit of value, and a bit of income for a diversified portfolio. And now with the stock market in a bubble near all time highs, it wouldn't hurt to be conservative with some of those ETFs. Never hurts to leave some cash in money market funds paying near 5% for the time being, that way if we get a correction, you can slowly dollar cost average in at lower prices. At 53, you have plenty of investing time left so you'll be fine if you have the discipline to put 15% aside for the future. Just pay yourself first, and learn to live on the rest. Unfortunately it's mostly how long you invest rather than how much you invest that makes wealthy individuals, but at least you got started so keep it up. You'll be fine. Good luck.

    • @DonCarso

      Keep going! That's the short answer. Never too late to start. I work in the retirement industry and even having 50k as a fallback when you're on social security is something that will give you restful sleep. In a 401k aim for the funds that track the broader market like the sp500. If your just putting money into a brokerage account like Robinhood then be careful with some of these dividend ETFs, sometimes a great dividend yielding ETF can come with principal depreciation. Be ok with a baseline 8% average account return per year. Some years you'll be up 25% some you'll be -5%. Always put in the max amount that the company willatch and I personally add 1% more every time I get a raise. It cushions the blow of adding more while you still get the rest of the raise. Never sell when the market goes to shit. Never. If you have to eventually use some money, set up a monthly distribution to average out of your sales and avoid catastrophic highs and lows. Remember, your doing great! Just keep going.

      If you retire at 70 you still have 17 years for compound growth. If you retire at 70 and take Social Security at 70 you will max out your benefit with it! Hopefully your debt is payed down! Get investing! Good luck!

    First of all thank you for your show.
    Would you please come with a two Income etfs with different pay out date in order to be able to switch from one to another to capture both dividends?
    I like to have your perspective. Theoretically it should be possible specially with quarterly payouts. Examples Amlp and Fdvv are examples. I haven't searched for the best possible scenario yet. FDvv payout Mid Dec Mid Mach and Amlp Nov,Feb,May payouts as examples.

      This is called dividend harvesting, a strategy that doesn't work well because share prices typically drop on the ex date by the dividend amount.

    How does JEPI compare to JEPQ with its higher dividend?

    • @ViktoriyaMedia
      @ViktoriyaMedia  Місяць тому +1

      JEPQ is a covered call ETF on the Nasdaq100 index (NDX). It holds stocks within the Nasdaq 100, so it naturally exhibits a lot more volatility than JEPI which focuses on low volatility stocks that exhibit value characteristics. And because NDX exhibits more volatility than SPX, JEPQ will have a higher dividend Yield. But the two are not comparable. One is growth & Income (JEPQ) and the other is low volatility value and income (JEPI). Hope that helps!
