    Just to clarify: every worker, everywhere in the US (except residents of territories, like Puerto Rico) pays federal income tax, which is a progressive tax (the more you make, the more you pay). State income tax varies from state-to-state; some have no income tax. 7% is a bit high, tho of course there are states with higher; however, I believe North Carolina has a flat 5.25% rate, with no local income taxes. Some cities and counties around the US *do* have local income taxes, usually called a "wage tax."

    Hi, Miss Gee. I have a question. I have units in doctoral degree here in our country. Does it count when I would apply? Or it needs to be a doctoral degree holder?

    • @MissGeesClass
      @MissGeesClass  Рік тому

      Your units will be counted as long as you will submit it upon the credential evaluation process

      Try searching for Participate in Google. They sponsor international teachers. My sponsor has no placement fee.

    70k for the savings only? :(. So sad to hear it.
    I thought 100k is the least, considering the pressure and fast-paced lifestyle you're dealing with. Well, fair enough compared to be stuck here with PLIs. Thanks for the honesty Ms. G!

      Both/Combined. As long as you have a document to support your exp/claim. Say for instance, 2 yrs sa Ph and 2 yrs sa US - that’ll give you 4 yrs of exp. Again, as long as it is documented (You have coe)

      Yes. May partner ang EPI dito. And kung ayaw niyo naman sa partner ng EPI, as long as may SSN na kayo, pede ka nang kumuha!

    If you say you divide salary by 10 months does that mean someone will not receive salary payment for 2 months?

    • @MissGeesClass
      @MissGeesClass  Рік тому

      Kind of. But it’ll depend on your county

    What I’ve learned from this video: don’t work in the Carolinas! In DC, teachers with a bachelor’s and NO experience start at $57,000. One doesn’t have to live in DC in order to teach here; one can live 20 minutes away in Maryland or Virginia, pay 30% less in living costs and earn a decent living. For someone with a master’s and 10 years of experience, it’s $85,000/year. That’s already more than most university instructors in the south. Refuse to work where they don’t respect you and where they don’t pay you well. What’s keeping you there?! MOVE!

    • @MissGeesClass
      @MissGeesClass  Рік тому

      True. However, most visa sponsors have limited partnership. Say for instance, our VS is tied up with 4 states only - DC is excluded.
