Even more amazing is that he turns 89 in May 2024 and he looks pretty much the same as he did back when he gave this original iconic "playoffs" comment.
A lesser known classic Jim Mora rant was when coaching the Saints he said "Coulda, woulda, shoulda don't mean sh!t, and you can print that in the papers."

All of them among many others were featured in Coors Light commercials. In a fake press conference, the beer drinkers would ask them a question about beer and we wuld see the coach answer, though it was originally in response to something else. Seth Meyers has done this on his talk show, and when I saw Weird Al Yankovic in concert, fake interviews were shown to the audience while he changed costumes.
@@Jay-rf5rh "The Bears are who we thought they were. That's why we took the damn field. If you want to crown 'em, then crown their asses. But they are who we thought they were, and we let 'em off the hook!" Classic!
Goes great with the 2023 Chargers disaster; talented roster, top quarterback, crunch time failures, and a defense that individually looks good but together reminds me of the 1966 Giants! Chargers opponents can’t wait for a third and long!
I just love and respect his willingness to be raw and truthful with his words, regarding his players performance. Hope they weren’t depending on a sugar coated based diet.. because that was totally sugar free. 2023! Classic m.
John McKay (Tampon Bay Buccaneers) was the ultimate when it came to sarcasm concerning his teams play. Here are some examples: "We didn't tackle well today but we made up for it by not blocking." "If you have everyone back from a team that lost 10 games, experience isn't too important." “I’ll probably take a little time off and go hide somewhere. We will be back. Maybe not this century, but we will be back and we will be a better football team.” "Three or four plane crashes and we're in the playoffs."
I do like this one. But I think my favorite post game quote came from Grumpy Bill. When asked for his analysis of why the Patriots didn't win he said "Well the other team scored too many points and we didn't score enough". Love ya Bill!
This and "They are who we thought they were" are two of the best press conferences ever. That and AI "practice your talking about practice" Some are just will live for ever.
I wish more people knew about this. Every time I say in a high pitch "playoff? PLAYOFFS? Are you kidding me? I just hope they can win a game." The room is silent.
Wish more coaches would keep it this real! Yea yea it’s considered “throwing them under the bus” but to mean it’s constructive criticism aka putting someone on blast 😂 and I wish we could know more of this real shit but this kind of talk don’t get out that’s all done behind closed doors!
Fun fact: in November 2000, just a year before this quote, the Titan beat the Browns despite a turnover differential *worse* than the Colts in the game in question, at -6.
As soon as Mora threw Peyton under the bus..Colts said youre outta here and Dungy came in from Tampa with the Tampa 2 defense and the rest was history.
Yeah, Peyton Manning threw a TON of interceptions his first few years. Several returned for TDs and I don't think he EVER made a tackle on any of his interceptions.
He has one of my other favorite rants: "We couldn't do diddly-poo offensively....we couldn't make a first down...we couldn't run the ball....we didn't try to run the ball...we couldn't complete a pass...we sucked...the second half we sucked..."
I remember when they aired this rant, they showed Peyton Manning in the locker room calling Mike Vandejagt(?) a liquored up kicker. That Colts team was a mess 😂
So glad Jim got paid by DraftKings to do this again. Well deserved and fun to see him again!

Diddly poo offensively@@frenchfrey65
Jim Mora is still the undisputed king of the post-game rant. 🤣🤣🤣
More coaches need to rant like this. Brutally honest and brilliant.
Mommas ruining society by making all of us be ms manners. Can't express anything.
Mike Leach (RIP) did. The fat little girlfriends rant would make Jim Mora proud.
Until this day I give the man props. This rant was the definition of keeping it real. He did not hold back and he was speaking the truth.
There was no filter 😂
My wife asked if our 2-5 HS going to playoffs. I remembered this and played it to her and kids. LMAO True classic
Mora's "Playoffs?" quote along with Denny Green's "They Are Who We Thought They Were" will live forever.
Both are priceless. And AI "Practice" press conference.
And you let ‘em off the hook.
And Derek Anderson's "That's fine" rant.

Shoutout to the reporter that asked him that question that led to this infamous clip!

Toss up two best post game interviews in NFL history R.I.P Dennis
Them along with the legendary Jim McKay, who was a walking soundbite.
Love the new commercial.

I will always remember this. This is the short version tho. He went off that time. Lol it was awesome.
