You commented as if the 2080 Ti is not capable of doing that - - - it can but it depends on the title. RDR2 is a great looking and demanding title, so expect even the highest-end to struggle.
Answer is simple- dont run in DX12 then... Honestly it's now the 7th game (I just bought this because of new year sale), and DX12 is really utterly garbage. Not really much more fps, but even the minimum fps in half of the games I tested were even lower. In addtion I can't even run another game or demanding app in background which is not issue on DX11/Vulcan, and the most games are having crashes or other errors like graphical issues. Tested on: Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, Redisend Evil Biohazard/2 remastered, Division 1+2, and Red Dead Redemption 2...
DirectX 12 - Windows 10 only. Vulkan - From Windows 7 up newer, from Android 7 and newer, Linux. Also it's open sourced and give you better control of what your GPU does.

Dx12 for some reason looks worse than vulkan however when vulkan was on by default would freeze the game up to 30 seconds (i54690k would bottleneck to 100%). Switching to dx12 everything ran as smooth as.

Eu espero ter mais jogos nativos para Linux de Categoria AAA como os que ja temos.
Better averages with Vulkan overall
Did any of you get more game crashes when using DirectX?
Should have called that video "Watch the best GPU RTX 2080 ti getting buttfucked and relegated to console Niveau (30 fps)"
Vulkan gives me more FPS but gives me constant freezes while DX12 gives me no freezes but lower fps. the stuttering unfortunately stays no matter what i do.
Those micro hitches are annoying af.
I got "bes" program to limit rdr2 cpu by 5 % and it fixed the stutters and freeze
Maybe try this: Add RDR2 to your videocard driver folder. Make sure you have disabled V-sink in your videocard settings outside of the game.
We want DLSS 2.0 in this game.
1 year old console game with unlocked fps and more clear textures didn’t get 60 fps on 1500$ gpu!
Consoles cant run this game in 4K ultra setings, and this version has a visual upgrade...
1500, dollar GPU lmao where??
What kind of benchmark ist that? The gameplay benchmark scene is random... DX12 had more people and things going on in general. When it evened out the fps was about the same.
Anyone else interested in that big fat advert taking up half the screen?? Oh yeah!!
2019 and we still can’t even hit 60fps at 4k?
It depends on the game.
We can't even get stable 60fps 1080p on ultra with a GTX 1080 Ti
Game is trash. People have waited so long only to have the fucking developers release a shit that runs worse than a ps4
@@Vandiekins Game is not trash lol. I get 50-60fps on a mix of mostly high, Ultra and a little bit of low
You commented as if the 2080 Ti is not capable of doing that - - - it can but it depends on the title. RDR2 is a great looking and demanding title, so expect even the highest-end to struggle.
How did you run it in dx12? It won't even launch when I switch.
Tested on: Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, Redisend Evil Biohazard/2 remastered, Division 1+2, and Red Dead Redemption 2...
lol the PC Master Race is still alpha testing this game
why blur worst graphics?
UPD oh, this is minimal settings -sorry my bad
Vulkan is better in my experience and im on chapter 4
Can you do a low vs medium v high test?
I have insane stutering with Vulkan
what is the difference between vulkan and directx 12?
DirectX 12 - Windows 10 only.
Vulkan - From Windows 7 up newer, from Android 7 and newer, Linux. Also it's open sourced and give you better control of what your GPU does.
different architecture where DX12 should work better on both, even AMD and Nvidia.
Sadly exactly the opposite is the case. DX12 is even less good than DX11, uznless you are having a weaker CPU maybe...
Believe Vulkan will work better the more cores the cpu have!
Dx12 for some reason looks worse than vulkan however when vulkan was on by default would freeze the game up to 30 seconds (i54690k would bottleneck to 100%). Switching to dx12 everything ran as smooth as.
I got a program bes which limits cpu power down by 5 %(or whatever %) for specific program and it fixed the freezing for 30 sec for me. I'm running i5 6600k(not over clocked atm) and with 1080ti 1440x3440
Too bad I can't test both API's. Only Vulkan works here. Selecting DX12 makes the game crash when I restart the game. (2080ti stock with 7700K @ 4.8ghz)
why always just 4k benchmarks? how about 1440p!?
They want to test the maximum settings, take things too there limits. Thats how you know how a game performs at its worst and thats important.
@@dangle-pee4420 no its not, because maybe only 0,2% of all gamers play at 4k resolution.. 1440p is the most popular at the moment
Ali_ FFM what is 1440p? Its HD or 4K right?
@@qaching its called WQHD the resolution is 2560x1440 so bascially almost 2x sharper than 1080p. its a great Compromise if you want a crisp picture with good performance. 4k is still way too demanding for the most gamers.
@@SonGoku544 nope. 1080p is still the most used resolution. 1440p is the niche resolution. Budget gamers like me use 1080p, higher end ones skip straight to 4k.
i have this game, i guess with recent patches dx12 isn't as bad as it use to be? Anyways for me... between the two, DX12 looks better from my experience. Better lines, and more vibrant colors.
everyone bitching needs to speak for them selves, i built my pc myself every single part is hand picked by me and installed by me, including the Storage and operating system, so it has ZERO bloatware or built in bullshit no one needs, just cc cleaner for cleaning and avg to actively monitor files going in or out. I have a quad core cpu, a fast quad core maybe the fastest quad core ever built (i3-8350k@4.7Ghz, i can push it to 4.8 but it needs 1.36-.37 volts on the cpu where at 4.6 it only needs 1.30 so the curve goes up fast on the heat/performance ratio on my chip atleast, could prob get it to 4.9-5.0 ghz if i messed with my bios more but i simply did the increase clock speed until unstable than raise voltage until it gets too hot trick to see how i could push it, getting a 8700k or 9700k if i can use my z370 board still)now that 10th gen i3s have hyper threading i heard,,, but 4 cores,,,,and a RTX 2060,,,not super 2060 just 2060, with 16gb ddr4-3000,,,,,,, and im getting 50-70 fps with everything maxed out except MSAA and anything else that utilizes super sampling, i play on 1080p with dx12, if i move to vulcan and use a mix of ultra and high i can easily get 60 fps in town. and my pc usage is perfect, 100 percent on the cpu AND gpu,,,, so speak for your self, some of us are out here having the fucking time of our lives (video games wise atleast lol) playing rdr2 damn near perfectly, and its clearly not the games fault. you cant expect it to run on anything but a high end pc ,,, i mean look at its performance on console lol
this game needs a DX12afr patch so it can support SLI
3:31 looks different, he don't have the hat
His hat was shot off. This part of the benchmark has some variables in it because the A.I don't behave exactly the same every time you run it.
I guess it's the usual case: DX12 is best for AMD cards, but not the best for Nvidia cards. Would be nice to see a test like this with RX 5700XT.
but vulcan it AMD techology
@@TR0Y72 It's not! It's open source now.
Holly cow Cryengine is the best beast!
This is why Microsoft afraid of vulkan api
Did you tried with last patch ?
He wrote that
@@RyadMax In fact RDR2 is still running very bad. I was hoping it wasn't installed.
I play on vulkan dx12 constantly crashes and use process lasso and limit CPU usage to 98 and everything is resolved no more crashing or freezes.
So you can use Dx12 by limiting your cpu?
So is the 100% cpu usage that make crash of game?
Explain better
bottom line : you need a double 2080 ti to play 4k60 OTHERWISE UR DONE

Core i5 2400 and gtx 750ti???? Will ot run rdr2
Yes but poorly.
Tell you something image sharpening is my 4k
All games should be made using vulkan api
this dont count sense the game is in demo mode still
Hello Candyman
You should test vulkan on AMD and DX on Nvidia....
Why they create another API (Vulkan) that runs worse than the current one (DX 12)?
Google what Vulkan is.
Vulkan doesn't run worse, dx12 is Microsoft only, Vulkan exist mainly for gaming outside microsoft, like Nintendo, Android and Google Stadia
@@rayopro Thanks
For me dx 12 give me 20fps more and smooth gameplay, vulkan down 20 fps and stuttering somehow. My spec is i9-9900x, 32gb quad ddram and rtx 2080. Dx12 average fpr 7x to 8x, vulkan average 4x to 5x with 3840:1080 32:9 resolution with custom ultra and high setting.
nice game :)
Looks more simple in PC, I'm currently playing on a PS4 and the game looks more vibrant.
On ultra, high setting?
@@7heruvim7 on ultra is pretty close to the ps4 version
Because worth optimisation?
@@7heruvim7 maybe
@@Roberto190688 Not at all. PS4 version is blurrier, lower resolution textures, absence of ambient occlusion, lower draw distance, less vegetation density.
Truth hurts.
Does anyone else have a problem when they run the game with Vulcan, where the frames drop from 50-70 fps down to 40-ish? I am playing on 1440p on max settings, and this happens when i approach campfires and other areas where physics particles are used a lot.
Yes i have the same.
@@teksupreme5063 I recently switched to Direct X 12 and i have no problem now. If you still have the issue, you should do the same.
@@HiJack3r I can't use Dx12 I don't know why but it crash after 15 min.
With the Vulkan i can normally play the game, but ive little fps drop near the water and camping...i want to find a fix cause dx12 seems more better in quality and smoothness
@@teksupreme5063 Yep, you're right, same here. It crashes after half an hour or so, and not only that, but at max settings it still drops fps a lot. Damn, I guess we have to wait for Rockstar to fix the game we already paid for.
@@HiJack3r If you watch the twitter of Rockstar Games they said they are working with Nvidia to fix problema caused by the combination of specific hardware gpu+cpu and also for fix stutter and crash.
Nvidia also release a new driver right now.
yep, directx12 is broken now, vulkan smooth on my 1060 as cat
I am on GTX 1060, and nothing above low settings (with lower than native resolution) gives me smooth experience, especially near Saint Denis, Camps, Camp-Fires, Lanterns etc
DX12 is really having some bugs. 9:42 Arthur is running but his not moving.
Same happened in Vulcan on medium settings at exactly the same spot caused the videos to be out of sync so IDK what happened
This is super fake. You traveled around the world taking pictures of mountains and desserts.
А как включать через вулкан?
Minimum graphics on RTX 2080 Ti? dangg son..
Lol 4k bro. Eats GPU power for breakfast
The game has horrible texture pop up issues. Sometimes even mountains go missing 😅🤣
Install Driver Version 431.60 for Nvidia. Pretty much a straight frame time line when it comes to Vulkan.
DX12 👍 (2070 Gaming X)
So basically console runs better than 80% of the PC's. All that hype for nothing 👍
Wait for Digital Foundary's video and then make an assumption.
