Hey dude. I learned "The Unstolen Jewel" from your video when I lived in Chicago and then I moved to Japan I think 16 or so years ago. Now I play on some pretty big stages here in Tokyo. A lot of your videos helped me get better at guitar. This isn't my professional channel but there is a video on this casual channel of mine of me playing that song with my ex wife in my little apartment in Tokyo when I first moved to Japan which I learned from watching you. Maybe check it out to see some of the impact you've had.

First of all, my sympathies are with you for what you are struggling with. I wish you all the health and happiness, for whatever that is worth.
I also want to say that you're arrangements are such an important piece of my guitar playing over the years and I am so grateful for that. They are a beautiful home within my heart that I can return to time and time again.
I am onboard and support your vision for your patreon and your channel. I hope to be in a place to join again soon, and get back into guitar. Perhaps your return and revival, and JC joining, may be a catalyst for that.

Learning how to play Castle Cornelia using your tabs firmly put me in the camp of classical guitar... 2 weeks ago i got my first custom classical guitar and the first thing I played on it was your arrangement of Gathering Stars in the Night Sky followed by Ship of Regret and Sleep. Your arrangements are amazing, you rock.

I may not have thrived in playing the classical guitar, but I can definitely say you've been a core part of my life throughout these years. I'll subscribe to your Patreon soon so I can re-learn your rendition of Circle of Eternity. Thank you, Justin, for being the gift that keeps on giving. I wish you all the best, and I’ll do whatever I can to support you.

"That's how you got into my arrangements". No bro, that's how we got into guitar! You're a hero.
The single take stuff, I get. I recorded Melodies of Life once years ago in one take, thinking that that's the way to do it. It took me days. I finally got a near perfect recording (5 and a half minutes), and then I quit guitar for a few years.
If you want to make new videos, I think there is no shame in splicing multiple recordings together. Just have like 10 takes and splice them together so they sound right.

Hey man! Long time since I've commented, but I've been around. I'm one of those OGs, and I have to say, though you maybe don't see yourself as much as a "professional performer", I've always thought of you as just that. If I could have 3 wishes, I've always said that one of them would be the ability to play the way you do. No kidding! I have to say that I'm relieved and happy to hear that you are still pushing for this channel, I think it's great, I want to see it succeed, and I still say that you are one of the most underappreciated youtubers still around.
Also, a while back you had mentioned taking commissions. I had been trying to think of something that I'd like to hear you do, but I was coming up blank. You've already covered so many of my favorites. One recurring composer was Yasunori Mitsuda and his work, and it just hit me. I'd like to hear a guitar arrangement of "Serenade of Respite" from Sea of Stars, the one song that Mitsuda contributed to the recent game. Anyways, point me in the right direction to get that rolling!
And all of that aside, again, thank you for sticking with it. Over the years I've listened to hours of your playing. I've come back to hear Besaid Island and chill out, or watch you play Shion from Xenogears looking like youre hanging on for dear life through the second half of the song. Your channel and it's music were there when I was going through a breakup, or having exciting new things happen, moving to new places. It's just become one of those little anchors, or core memories. Anyways, I'm grateful for all that you've done, and I will be clicking on, and liking every video, like I always try to do over the last couple of decades.

I'll tell you what. So, I took a listen to Serenade of Respite, and my usual fee for commissions is around $40 for a piece like that. But let's make a deal.
Rather than you spend that money on 1 piece, join up with my Patreon instead. That way, you're only spending $5 instead of $40, and I will STILL arrange that piece for you.
Because you could be a member of my Patreon for 8 months, 3/4th of a YEAR for the same amount, and this way you'll not only get the piece you're looking for arranged, if you stick around you'll get all my old arrangements, my new arrangements as I do them, and access to those Patreon only mini lessons as they start coming out for the different pieces.
      What do you think?

Did you do banners and stuff kabuki? I have something super interesting to mention about that! I used to skateboard and I messed my wrists up bad, and my friend who I work out with and spar with and stuff got into arm wrestling so I figured I’d get into it as well, I didn’t think I’d be able to at all because my wrists were so destroyed, but I managed to start the training which was very hard and I had to work around a lot of the exercises (a lot of real competitive arm wrestling isn’t like at the highschool lunch tables- you use your wrists and your fingers a lot, it’s very technical) and eventually my wrists and fingers got not only healthy again but super strong. I didn’t think it was possible. But that’s not really my point, what I wanted to say was that my friend who I worked out with started doing a printing job AFTER already getting insanely strong, and even he was getting beat up from that job. For several months his strength was lacking on the arm wrestling table and in the gym until he eventually managed to adjust. Haha NOW I get why he used to complain and say “ah my hands are too beat up from work to train today” I thought he was just being lazy 😆. Sorry for the long comment especially since that was just a side point you were making that lead me on this tangent. I will say though- I used to see some of your videos and think “holy that guys forearms look strong!” (And I think I saw some other people say that too) but now that explains why haha!

Also sorry about getting heated a bit in that community post, anyway it’s great to see this video already have 80+ likes so soon, everyone’s happy to see you kabuki !! I understand what you were saying at the end about wanting the next gen to come in the way we got brought in. It sucks cuz I’m like you- I don’t really like social media (at all) but it seems if you want to get the younger people in, that might be the only way.. 😢. If not through their Tik tok or whatever then at least probably through UA-cam shorts, that would help

Hahaha yeah we did all sort so fo stuff, and we didn't have an automatic machine so every things was printed manually. On busy days I'd wake up from sleep and it literally felt like someone had lit my hands on fire, the pain was excruciating and I'd have to sleep with my arms hanging off the side of the bed just for it to subside. It really did a number on them, and that was just work, that doesn't include I played piano my whole life, and was on the drumline, and draw and paint, and also using the computer...just about everything I did growing up used my hands and wrists in some fashion, so it was eventually just too much. Something had to give. I'm blessed I can still play some, though, so at least there's that. I just have a hard time doing really long recording sessions like I used to. :P
